New Orleans had an evacuation plan that FEMA put together.  It included using school buses (the ones underwater in the famous photo) and AmTrack (which offered help and was refused).  Nagin never implemented it.  He was most likely unaware that it existed. 

Be curious to see how the issues without naked women on the cover are selling.  My thinking is that this rag is heading in the same direction as the old gray lady.

What I didn't get into and really grates on me is how clowns like David Kuo, Lawrence Wilkerson, Matthew Dowd and others seem so hungry for their 15 seconds of fame, and don't get that libs throw them into the sewer the first chance they get.

Also, AP has already written a celebratory piece "covering" this article (which I deliberately didn't link), so it's not like its content won't have semi-wide distribution.

While I rarely defend Bush he is not as bad as the character created by the media. However, come back in 2-4 years when Obama has actually led something and tell me about his leadership skills. So far I am impressed with his ability to spit in the face of every supporter who has got him where he is and still have people slobber all over themselves about his attributes. He has already done some surprisingly good things IMO (and bad) but he did so by breaking the promises he made during his career of campaigning. You could say he made those promises just to get elected but that may be okay for a Democrat but a Republican would eviscerated for one compromise that led to breaking a campaign promise - see "No new Taxes".

Hey devil bunghole meister:  The "whole article" is not a bunch of quotes from Bush Administration people.  Besides quotes in this instance do not consitute material evidence of any kind.  We had a bipartisan group--the 9/11 Commission--which performed an exhaustive investigation of everything leading up to 9/11 as well as the Iraq War, and they concluded that the Bush Administration used no deceptive practices in making its case for the war.   An independent bi-partisan commission, however, is trumped (in your book and that of Vanity Fair) by what exactly?  Also, blaming Bush for "global warming" is downright hilarious, when the Kyoto Treaty was voted down during the Clinton Administration by something like 99-0 in the Senate, and the average earth temperature has actually dropped during Bush's term in office!  These are facts, bunghole, as opposed to your empty invective.  Torture?  How can one simultaneously blame the president for not stopping 9/11 while at the same time criticize him for everything he does to stop another attack?  Only in liberal-land does this make sense.  We're supposed to know exactly when and where the enemy is going to strike us, but we're not to listen in on their communication, or follow their money flow or be mean to them when we are interrogating them.  Right. 

Face it, if GWB were a Democrat and everything else remained exactly as it is, the media would have given him a free pass on most of what he was blamed for.  A Democrat president would not have been able to do much more than Bush did in New Orleans, but the media would template would not have blamed it on the president.  It would have been cast as just a horrible natural disaster made worse by citizens who live below sea level in a hurricane zone.
