Military-Bashing Chris Hayes: Climate Change Is the 'Biggest Governing Challenge We Face'

By Scott Whitlock | June 13, 2012 | 16:43

Scott Whitlock's picture

Effete MSNBC host Chris Hayes, in a new Lean Forward commercial airing on the network, can be seen merrily biking around New York City while lecturing Americans that climate change is "the biggest governing challenge I think we've ever faced."

The cable anchor, who on May 27th infamously said he was "uncomfortable" calling fallen military members "heroes," pranced around the city as his voice-over pontificated: "...The scale and scope of [fighting global warming] is every bit as transformational as the industrial revolution or the transition to the digital age." [See video below. MP3 audio here.]

Hayes added that this battle would be "thrilling."

Although Hayes finds the struggle against climate change to be thrilling, he wasn't as enamored of the men and women who fight for America's freedom. From the May 27 Up With Chris Hayes:

CHRIS HAYES: I think it's interesting because I think it is very difficult to talk about the war dead and the fallen without invoking valor, without invoking the words "heroes." Um, and, ah, ah, why do I feel so comfortable [sic] about the word "hero"?  I feel comfortable, ah, uncomfortable, about the word because it seems to me that it is so rhetorically proximate to justifications for more war.

The ad seems to imply that Hayes bikes to work. The liberal anchor should probably be prepared to see some enterprising conservative journalist waiting outside 30 Rock to see if he exits from a network limo.

On Twitter, Hayes admitted: "...I don't do it every day. it's a haul. last part biking through midtown is the worst."

[Thanks to MRC intern Jeffrey Meyer for the video.]

A transcript of the new MSNBC Lean Forward ad is below:

Story Continues Below Ad ↓

CHRIS HAYES [Video of Chris Hayes bicycling around New York City]: Climate change is the biggest governing challenge we face. It's the biggest governing challenge I think we've ever faced. One way or another, we're going to have to dramatically reduce the amount of carbon we're putting in the atmosphere and the scale and scope of that undertaking is every bit as transformational as the industrial revolution or the transition to the digital age. And you can think about that as terrifying or you can think about it as thrilling.

Unless I'm mistaken, I think you're saying that the posters here on NB come on these threads to 'put down everyone', right??
Well, maybe you should pay attention to the whole theory behind NB, which is to 'expose' media bias, lies, propoganda, half-truths, etc.................as well as the way that it is done by the Make-It-Up Media and the StateRun Media, who are complicit with the REGIME, as well as their own agenda, to keep as many people fooled, misinformed, uniformed, and non-informed as possible - so as to achieve the outcome that they are stiving for - which is to continue doing what they're doing, without having enough people aware of what is really going on out here in the 'real' world.

So if anyone here sounds like they are 'putting somebody down', by commenting, or calling out BS when the read it or hear it, or throwing back something at the perpetrators of this pack of lies and falsehoods, then I guess that's just the way it goes!!! We're not the type of people who are going to 'lean forward', and 'bend over', just because some tilley-assed queebie who doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground it trying to 'educate' us, or 'inform' us, about something that is a scam anyway.

Have I made myself clear??? I noticed you've only been here at NB for a few hours................maybe you ought to check things out, pay attention, and get a feel for what is going on here, before you start flapping your gums - there are people here at NB who are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay sharper and more informed than most people you've probably met.

And although I was using it to describe this 'effete dilittente' Chrissy-Poo Hayes, I"m pretty sure that it works for this newly arrived sanctemonious troll 'colonoscophy', after having checked out his/her postings on a couple of other threads.

suggest that some people are so far below the salt that, yes, they warrant nothing but insults.

In the case of Mr. Hayes who has trouble calling fallen military engaged in wars voted for by a bipartisan Congress - yes, he deserves scorn.

When he suggests that the greatest challenge we face as a society is global warming and does so from his bike while wearing a helmet and those ridiculous glasses - yes, he is not redeemable.

I dislike attacking people personally but some people are caricatures of themselves and the ideals they represent. Mr. Hayes is one such person.

He can and should be dismissed out of hand. Unfortunately, he continues to open his mouth and the good people of this site continue to cover him. So the next best thing to ignoring him is to make fun of him.

Hay, Chris, if you actually think that the climate can be "governed," then you are definitely in the wrong profession. You should apply for Godhood. Maybe Thor has an opening available for you.

By the way, I have some Tornado Vanes available for sale, cheap. Put enough of them up around the world and you'll be able to govern the climate. How many do you want to buy?

I saw a movie once where Kirk Douglas was selling "tornado vanes" which was supposed to keep tornadoes away. I don't remember which one it was. It kind of reminds me of Al Gore.

The use of climate "science" is in fact for governance, though that's a stretch because it's more like being ruled.

The alarmists seem to think that we need to be controlled else the climate can't be "governed".

Funny, isn't it?

Submitted by CobraMan on Wed, 06/13/2012 - 8:11pm.

"The alarmists seem to think that we need to be controlled else the climate can't be "governed."

Funny, isn't it? These are the same people who are insulted by the idea that the is a God who governs everything and they do everything in their power to show that, no, the universe is governed by random chance. There is no controlling intelligence, Their is no governing mind. If lighting strikes a tree, it's random chance. If life exists, it's random chance. If the earth has a moon, it's random chance. Even the Earth, the galaxies, the very universe itself, was created, and is governed, through random chance. Even we, the humans, came into existence though random chance. There was no controlling intelligence involved, none whatsoever.

But, of course, it's not random chance when things like "climate change" occurs. No, random chance can never, ever, ever, be the cause. The universe doesn't work that way! The atmosphere is so large, so complex (like a Universe, maybe?) that random chance doesn't apply. Random chance only works on the micro-level, the quantum level. It has to be governed by something else. There must be a controlling intelligence at play. There MUST be! That's how the universe works! There's even a "law" which describes how it works! Objects in motion tends to stay in motion unless acted upon by an outside force. Therefor, an outside force must be acting on the atmosphere to "move" the climate in a different climatic direction, to "change" it. But what force can that be? It can't be natural, for if it was we would have discovered it by now, so it must be artificial. But whats the only know "artificial" force know to man? Intelligence! Intelligence is the force. Intelligence is the cause! The universe, on a macro level, is mailable to a controlling intelligence. Newton's Law proves it! But which intelligence is at play here? It cant be God, for no one has ever proved that God actually exists. It must be US! WE are the controlling intelligence! It's so obvious!

Since we don't work on random chance, since we use reasoning and logic, since we can alter our environment in direct, meaningful ways, unlike everything else in the universe, we must be that governing force. WE must be to blame! We have, in fact, become the very god, the very governing intelligence, they claim doesn't exist. The fact that the climate is changing proves it! Since we changed the climate once, we can change it again! We, the Human Gods, can do it!

I wonder if they even realize just how ironic that idea actually is? By proving that a controlling intelligence (us) can actually affect, can actually govern, macro structures, they have proven that, yes, God really does exist! If he didn't then, none of the galaxies, none of the planets, and none of us, would even exist. Newton's Law proves it, just like it proves that we are to blame for climate change. it. If the universe was only governed by random chance, the entire universe would only exist, only interact, on the quantum level. No large structures would ever, could ever, exist. It takes an outside force to govern that process. Just as Newton said.

Thanks, Warmers. Thanks, Scientists (especially those who formed that consensus about the causes of global warming). And Thanks, Al Gore. You've just given all of mankind the most compelling, most logical, most undeniably accurate proof that God actually exists, and you did it when you proved that mankind is causing global warming. You're just too stupid to realize it!

What's that? We're back to random chance again? Oh, ok so I guess you won't be needing that 36 trillion dollars after all.
