Martin Bashir Finds It 'Incredible' That 'Third Century' Santorum Would 'Blame the Media'
Liberal MSNBC anchor Martin Bashir on Thursday declared it "incredible" that Republican candidates such as Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich would "blame the media." A few seconds after making the comment, the host smeared Santorum as having "third century Constantinople" views when it came to social policies.
Bashir mocked the GOP presidential candidates for their debate performances and insisted that Republican voters don't like them. He chided, "They don't seem to see the obvious signs of dissatisfaction. They don't hear the criticism. Instead they just blame the media." Bashir added, "It is incredible to hear the fab four complain about the media." A few seconds later, Bashir, part of the media, was hurling vicious insults at the Republicans. [See video below. MP3 audio here.]
Bashir snapped, "Mr. Paul, for legalization, isolation, and the evisceration of the entire government. Mr. Santorum, transparent about his wish to return American social policy to third century Constantinople."
He continued, "Mr. Romney, tortured by his gilded life at Bain Capital and his inability to be authentic about anything. Mr. Gingrich, toxic and currently the most loathed and disliked political figure in America. "
So, Bashir finds it "incredible" that these individuals would complain about the media?
On February 14, the left-wing journalist shockingly compared Santorum to mass murder Joseph Stalin.
On January 6, Bashir lobbied Gingrich to stop his comments before someone gets killed.
A transcript of the February 23 segment, which aired at 3:58pm EST, follows:
MARTIN BASHIR: It's time now to clear the air. And last night we, had the 20th, yes, the 20th, opportunity to hear the Republican candidates lay out their vision for the future of this country. In a debate format that contained no difficult questions and virtually no supplementary challenges whatsoever, it was the perfect opportunity to dominate the stage and steal the spotlight. And yet after 20 opportunities to do so, not one of them has been able to lay out a plan that stirs the heart or captures the imagination. And that's not my view. That's the view of Republican voters. According to the latest Gallup poll, 55 percent of Republicans are dissatisfied with the field and would like to see someone else enter the race. And this after 20 debates. Unfortunately, these candidates are not listening to their own party. They don't seem to see the obvious signs of dissatisfaction. They don't hear the criticism. Instead they just blame the media.
NEWT GINGRICH: I think the destructive, vicious, negative nature of much of the news media makes it harder to govern this country.
RICK SANTORUM: We're going to be running against a president with the national media behind him.
RON PAUL: I think, too often, all of us are on the receiving end of attacks from the media.
BASHIR: It is incredible to hear the fab four complain about the media. but in reality, these debates have been wonderfully illuminating in terms of what they have revealed about the candidates. Mr. Paul, for legalization, isolation, and the evisceration of the entire government. Mr. Santorum, transparent about his wish to return American social policy to third century Constantinople. Mr. Romney, tortured by his gilded life at Bain Capital and his inability to be authentic about anything. Mr. Gingrich, toxic and currently the most loathed and disliked political figure in America. Transparent, tortured, and toxic. That's what we have learned from the debates. Thanks so much for watching.

Are you really just a garden-variety hate-monger with a British accent? Just another liberal who uses Christianity as a convenient prop?

This liberal fool is simply too dense to grasp that Newt Gingrich rocketed to first place a month ago precisely because he proceeded to tear John King (and CNN) a new one...The people continue to cheer for Newt every time he lays into these liberal media flacks.
Bashir is clearly a moron.
If Mr. Bashir is going to make these kinds of comments...

...he ought to be more sure of his facts. Constantinople, as such, didn't exist in the third century. There was a little Greek town called Byzantium on the site. Constantine the Great didn't build his new capital there until the fourth century.

Complain about the Media ?
Submitted by JCLINE on Fri, 02/24/2012 - 7:25am.
Have you ever actually tried to complain to one of these media types?
You read an article,or see a video or a report obviously designed a hit piece from some banana head in the print and you wonder, why is this guy even getting paid for writing or presenting this tripe? , when a rank amateur could do better at bringing the facts? Have you also noticed that all of the players working the narratives in liberal Pravda USA are disconnected from the world in more ways than one?
For one, you can never write them directly or respond directly to the idiocy they often write or say , because they won't offer an email address in order for you to address them about it...forget snail mail , they chuck that away , forget writing to the editor , because he is the problem and your letter will be thrown away. there is no venue for real rebuttal in the main stream media just narrative .
So, I want to take my debate on a particular issue right to this reporter because I know he generated it , and I can smash his story right over his pointy little head simply by revealing the facts and reviewing the history surrounding it .... but their door isn't open to that, their inbox does not exist to us , they are not listening at all to the world, instead they are merely dictating to it. and like Martin Bashir , they're all tyrants !

55% of GOP voters may be dissatisfied with the current field - probably only because Sarah Palin isn't running - but they WILL turn out and support whoever is the nominee because they will be around 10746% better than Chicago Jesus, who you and the rest of the grovelling sycophants in the lame-stream media bow down and worship.
SANTORUM WOULD LOSE IN A LANSLIDE TO OBAMA
Submitted by cbeyer on Fri, 02/24/2012 - 10:47am.
Santorum showed in the Wednesday evening debate that he is not up to prime time. His debate performance was essentially awful. Santorum has wrapped himself in social issues his whole political career. While many of us may agree with him, he is a one dimensional candidate. The big issues (born out in many polls) are the economy, energy prices, the disastrous housing market and national security. While conservative social issues are of primary concern to a small minority in the country the rest of us are concerned with either keeping our jobs or not losing them.
As a candidate against Obama, Santorum and his social issues candidacy would become the central issue rather than the failed Presidency of Barack Obama. Those who support this one dimensional candidate with ineffective debate skills are leading the republican’s chances of derailing Obama into oblivion.
It's "social issue" spending that's bankrupting us!

Santorum's problem is not
Submitted by lotr on Fri, 02/24/2012 - 11:05am.
Santorum's problem is not his position on social issues, and he is not a "one-dimensional" candidate. One only need to listen to Mark Levin's radio talk show, where Levin describes Santorum as a "solid conservative," to realize this. Note well that Levin is no Catholic, nor is he a "social issues only" conservative.
Any remark about a Republican candidate focusing "too much" on social issues can be easily rebutted with the fact that the Democrat candidates all focus on social issues by an equal amount, albeit from the politically correct social-engineering stance.
No, if Santorum has a problem, it is simply the lack of necessary charisma, a la Ronald Reagan, W or, dare I say, the current president, to get independents to listen to his message on a national stage. I hate to say it, but if he has a problem, this is what it is.
