All three morning shows on Friday skipped any reference to the developing controversy over Obama administration Green Jobs Czar Van Jones and his connection to the 9/11 Truther movement. CBS’s Early Show, NBC’s Today and ABC’s Good Morning America totally ignored the story, although ABC’s Jake Tapper did file an online report over the subject.
And although Fox News on Thursday covered the revelation that Jones signed a 911truth.org statement in 2004 urging an investigation into whether or not George W. Bush had prior knowledge about 9/11 ("people within the current administration may indeed have deliberately allowed 9/11 to happen, perhaps as a pretext for war"), none of nightly news programs highlighted this potential problem for the Obama administration.
So, while Good Morning America found no time for this incendiary topic, co-anchor Robin Roberts did host a segment on testing name brand versus store brand pizza. Early Show’s Harry Smith explained to viewers how to keep your lawn in top condition this autumn. And Today’s co-hosts thrilled over the must-have fashions for the fall season.
ABC’s Tapper, in an online post for the Political Punch blog, wrote, "This is becoming problematic for the Obama administration, which spent much time and energy belittling the fringe ‘Birther’ movement of those alleging, despite myriad evidence, that President Obama was not born in the U.S." (Tapper did file a report for Friday’s GMA, but on another topic and made no mention of Jones.) In the White House correspondent’s blog post, he reported this new development: "But in March 2002, a march in San Francisco was called to demand a congressional inquiry into 9/11. Jones was on the ‘organizing committee.’"
See a blog posting by the MRC’s Seton Motley for more on Van Jones and his inflammatory rhetoric.

September 4, 2009 - 11:49 ET by BondPlainBondThere was a momentary mention at the top and then... nothing! I stayed tuned to that pile of fluff waiting for the story to be told in-depth. Not a thing. Scarborough was delighted to infer that Glenn Beck is insane and a liar and castigated ANYONE that felt Obama's (Dept of Education's) classroom visit next week was a bold step into indoctrination and propagandizing K-6 students, inferring they were idiots, too.

Remember folks, Freedom isn't Free. It was bought with the blood and sacrifice of the men and women who are serving and who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
For those who fought for it, Freedom has a flavor that the protected will never know.
Also remember folks, that the way to SUPPORT THE TROOPS is to support their mission. Anyone who says that they support the troops but don't support their mission is lying about supporting the troops. And if you want to know, yes I do have a dog in the fight, he is a United States Marine.

I think that these items were part of a Glenn Beck article on his site or on another site. The picture is an excerpt from a video of a speach at a youth center in San Diego.

September 4, 2009 - 13:03 ET by sergeant stogieYou can use the state-run media's response (or non-response) to help gauge the impact of such news. If they mock it, they think it's only medium-threat and they can explain it away. If they try to ignore it, it scares the crap out of them. If they can't come up with any way to spin it, they hope it goes away before they are forced to deal with it. There's way too much hard evidence on this clown for them to claim "BS" on the part of the "haters on the right". Being in the Bay Area I was already well aware of Mr Jones' dubious background. I'm delighted he's been exposed, and by extension, more of this criminally inept administration.

The MSM continue to work as the Obama Ministry of Disinformation
September 4, 2009 - 13:27 ET by c5thenThey believe that if they can keep enough of the people from finding out about this enemy of our country it will not be a problem for Obama.
Van Jones (like so many other Presidential Special Advisers [Czars]) has no, or very little, experience in the areas that he is supposed to be advising the President. He has no background in energy (manufacturing, distribution, or even application). He has very little background as an environmentalist. Only in the last few years as the radical communists and socialists have infiltrated and taken over the environmental movements has he made an appearance. He has no background in job creation.
He was a student, then an activist, then an "advocate" and then an organizer and then an author. Sound like anyone else?

September 4, 2009 - 13:48 ET by celatorIt's time to fire up the House Un-American Activities Committee again.
It won't happen under the present Democratic looney tunes Congress, of course.
Wouldn't it be interesting to have the Czars sweating bullets in front of the committee as they try to evade questions about their radical backgrounds, their attempts to destroy the United States, their sources of funding, their affiliations? They would set a record citing the 5th Amendment. Oh yeah.
. In fact, I'd haul the entire Obama Cabinet, congressional leaders, mass media publishers, editors and reporters up there under oath.
No citizen's right to life, liberty, pursuit of happiness, or property is safe as long as Obama is President of the United States.
