Joe Biden, ladies and gentlemen, was watching CBS -- when did you start here? Thursday. You might have seen this. The days run together. It might have been Wednesday, but Biden was on the CBS Early Show. And he was asked -- the anchorette -- sorry. I'm trying to change my ways. I've been doing women summit programs so not to offend women. The anchor, Maggie Rodriguez, went out and got some man-on-the-street questions. And one guy, woman, I think question for Biden. What is in the stimulus package for small business? Biden was clearly stumped because there isn't anything in the stimulus package for small business. So what Biden said, honest to God, what Biden said was: Well, if there's a bridge to your small business, we're going to make sure that bridge stays open so that you can get to your small business and your customers -- honest. I kid you not. Now, of course, the media today is a bunch of hacks, they're out there as PR agents; they're starting to get a little embarrassed.
So how correct was Limbaugh in that assertion. Well, a check of the video shows that Rush, if anything, downplayed the absolute cluelessness of Biden:
MAGGIE RODRIGUEZ: Mr. Vice-President, we watched the speech last night with a cross-section of Americans and asked them if they had questions for you. And I'd like to share one of them with you from a viewer who had to lay off most of her staff last year. Take a listen.
(Video clip)
QUESTIONER: What I'm looking for are real clear details about how is the stimulus package really going to help small businesses.
(End clip)
RODRIQUEZ: Mr. Vice-President?
JOE BIDEN: Well, there's a number of ways. It depends on what your business is. I would recommend that woman call my office directly and I will be able to guide her as to what pieces of this package would be directly helpful to her. For example, it may very well be that she is in a circumstance where she is not able...her customers aren't able to get to her. There's no transit capability. The bridge going across the crick to get to her business needs repair. It may very well be that she is in a position where she is unable to access her energy costs are so high by providing smart meters by being able to bring down the cost of her work force through the cost of operating her business...
Yeah, all a small business owner has to do is call the Vice-President's office and good ol' Joe himself will painstakingly guide her through the intricacies of the stimulus package. Rush Limbaugh actually gave Biden a break by not mentioning that laughable absurdity.
Here is another claim by Limbaugh about Biden:
Maggie Rodriguez says, Senator Biden, there's a website that answers all these questions. What is the name of the website and Biden says I don't know. He looks off stage. "Does somebody have the website number?"
True or not? Was Joe Biden actually this clueless over the name of his own Recovery website address? Again, your humble correspondent performs the fact checking that the MSM neglects to do by providing this video:
Imagine that! Rush Limbaugh's facts actually check out. Are you paying attention, Bill Schneider?

Joe is not shining in public.
March 1, 2009 - 14:54 ET by jondelwicheGod love Joe, but he nearly died of a stroke years ago, and his hardwiring upstairs just isnt what it should be.
He can be so uncomfortable to watch in these situations, almost like someone with a speech impediment. It is sad. Yet, it seems totally taboo to ask about his cognitive functioning. I am not a fan of Obama but I hope he stays very, very healthy in the years ahead!
Also, he and Obama love to say they “inherited” these economic problems:
Let’s see, the Dems roared into office 11/2006 and they promised change:
passed the 2007 budget, with Obama and Biden voting in the Senate
passed the 2008 budget, with Obama and Biden voting in the Senate
Now, here we are in 2009……Is "inherit" really the right word?
Yet, the media never challenges this either.

Excellent points in your last paragraph....of course the msm isn't going to be bringing up silly little facts like you presented...why heck... they don't want to cloud up anything that has to do with reality.
thanks BT , but I'm still looking for the correct phrase
March 1, 2009 - 22:29 ET by jondelwicheW, from outside the beltway, "inherited" a recession in 2001.
I cant find the right phrase here, where Obama and Biden were part of the ruling party passing the budgets and gobbling up fannie donations:
arrived during this recession?
complicit in this recession?
accept
Do you know the proper semantics here?

March 1, 2009 - 15:51 ET by doug1950When Fritz Hollings retired the position of Foghorm Leghorn was vacated and Joe Biden stepped up to the plate to fill that void. Unfortunately, he nows sits in the office of the VP. He can not help himself, like a baby robin he is all mouth and full of ****. He engages his mouth about 5 minutes before he engages his brain and has for his entire life. He is not going to change anytime soon. What I find ironic is the very same people who whined about Sarah Palin being one heartbeat away from the Presidency voted for this man who makes her look like the President of Mensa.

What I really didn't understand was the questioner and or Rodriquez neither one asking good ole Joe what that direct line to his office number was. I can't even get one of my senators on the phone by calling their office, you gotta know just anyone off the street ain't talking direct to Joe and besides if you did he still ain't gonna know what to tell you. Half the time or more he doesn't know what he's talking about.
Rush ownes them
March 1, 2009 - 17:35 ET by jackie3I was never much of a Rush fan but after seeing the CPAC speech he gave I have a whole new level of respect. He reminded me of teddy roosevelt. He had me sitting at my computer clapping! I hadn't done that in years.
I think it's time Rush sidestepped the radio show and actually tried his hands at politics. He was right on a number of things about the republicna party. Core values and protecting the constituion should remain our focus.
I like Ron Paul's economic policy. If Rush adopts it he would have a serious chance at winning public office.

March 1, 2009 - 22:21 ET by pbthinkerDemocrats are trying to figure out how to push through their version of the fairness doctrine fast enough so there will be no conservative voices by the 2010 election cycle.
One thing that Limbaugh did, during his speech, that struck me was to point out how the Democrats were rooting for George Bush to fail in Iraq. They did everything in their power to bring about that failure and a lesser man would have succumbed to what they did. We, as a country, could have easily lost had President Bush been forced by the Democrats actions, to leave in disgrace. That's what they tried to accomplish and they failed. Thank God.

March 2, 2009 - 06:20 ET by Jack BauerIsn't the funny gaff-part, Biden asking for the website "number." Him being so tech-savvy and all, like all Democrats.
Clearly the jerk has NEVER used a computer and typed in a website ADDRESS!
Actually this is an example
March 2, 2009 - 12:15 ET by stratmanActually this is an example of Biden's brilliance!
Joe only uses DNS IP addresses instead of the all-too-simple plain english Hostname address format. Hence the website "number"!

Limbaugh is not a self
March 3, 2009 - 07:51 ET by nadadhimmiLimbaugh is not a self loathing, socialist, white man. Therefore, he is a racist that must be marginalized, denigrated and destroyed. Come on now. Really, doesn't the media just effing hate straight white males! They should all be improsoned for daring to oppose the policies of the savior, the one, lord god Barack.
