David Letterman: Romney Promising Conservatives 'He'll Put Anderson Cooper Back in the Closet'

David Letterman said Monday that presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney is promising conservatives that if he's elected, "he will put Anderson Cooper back in the closet."

Such was said during the obligatory Romney-bashing portion of Letterman's Late Show monologue on CBS (video follows with transcribed highlights and commentary, file photo):

As Late Show watchers know all too well, somewhere in Letterman's monologue will be attacks on the former Massachusetts governor.

"Mitt Romney vacationing in Lake Winnipesaukee," teased the host. "His money is vacationing in the Cayman Islands."

This from a guy whose net worth is almost twice as much as Romney's. But that doesn't stop him from making rich jokes about anybody.

Seconds later, it got worse.

"Mitt is now promising conservatives," Letterman said, "that if he is elected – because conservatives don’t think Mitt’s conservative enough – he’s promising conservatives if Mitt is elected, he will put Anderson Cooper back in the closet."

Conservative homophobe jokes.

They never get old with liberal media members.

...about David Letterman when he ridicules B.O/.Dems. Oh wait...that means we'd never see anything re David Letterman. And to think I once found him "amusing".

David Letterman

This type of intelligence is why our family never watches Letterman. His comedy is virtually non-existent. This is how a Democrat fights for what he believes. Since he has no idea how to get his point across civilly, he resorts to denigrating his opponent's views without intelligent arguments. Democrats do not respect the right for dissenting views from their own. As far as Democrats are concerned, it is "my way or the highway."

I have never understood the supposition that because conservatives support less government intrusion into our private lives and more government fiscal responsibility - that this necessarilly means we hate gays. Does this mean that gays are pushy, obtrusive people who want to tax me into the stone age and regulate my entire life? Because if that's what being gay means, then I suppose I am guilty of not liking them very much. On the other hand, if being gay means you find yourself attracted sexually to members of your own gender - then I really couldn't care less about it.

Waaay back in the 80's when he wasn't such a shill for the liberal democrat party. I find him uttlerly unwatchable or remotely funny now. He hisses like a bitter liberal snake through that ugly f*cking gaptooth of his.

I think Les Moonves has instructed everyone at CBS to drop the thinly veiled disguise of being politically balanced and said let's go for broke and bludgeon those evil republicans on a daily basis, all while propping up dear leader.
