David Letterman Mocks Romney's Wealth Despite Being Worth $400 Million
You want to see a perfect demonstration of almost unimaginable media hypocrisy?
On Friday, CBS Late Show host David Letterman mocked Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's wealth despite being worth $400 million (video follows with transcript and commentary, file photo):
DAVID LETTERMAN: I was talking to Mitt Romney earlier today, and he and his family got a big two day weekend planned. They’re going to hike to the top of his money.
Excuse me, but who the heck is Letterman to ridicule anyone for how much money they have?
According to our friends at Celebrity Net Worth, the Late Show host makes $50 million a year with an estate valued at $400 million.
As Forbes estimated Romney's net worth at $230 million Wednesday, Letterman's worth almost twice the target of his derision.
How's THAT for hypocrisy?
But Letterman wasn't done slamming the former Massachusetts governor:
LETTERMAN: When you're the nominee for a party, whether you're the incumbent or whether you're the opposition, like in Mitt Romney’s case, you have to always appear to be presidential. And I think that's what the first thing people look for is the man or woman presidential? So we've put together a segment for you that addresses that issue right on the money. It's called, "Mitt Romney: Thank You, Mr. President." See how this works.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
MITT ROMNEY: I'm not familiar precisely with exactly what I said, but I stand by what I said whatever it was.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
LETTERMAN: Thank you, Mr. President. Do we still have giggling Mitt Romney? Is giggling Mitt Romney with us? Do we still have it?
The same edited video Letterman aired Thursday of Romney laughing over and over again was played as the audience laughed.
I guess this is going to be a running gag now.
Anything to help the president he loves get reelected I guess.

isn't worth 2 cents. At least Romney made his money honestly unlike this goof making money by trying to be funny and joking about young girls being raped by base-ball players. Go away.........you can't even try to be funny.

and using his talented ex-girlfriend for her jokes and skits like Stupid Pet Tricks and the Top Ten and then dumping her in the trash. That's where his self-loathing comes from.

I haven't seen Baraka with his sleeves rolled down, a tie on and his suit jacket buttoned up in a year or so.
He looks like a second rate, motivational speaker after a week long scam.

Haven't watched Letterman in ages. I decided to quit when I couldn't tell the new shows from the reruns.
What keeps Letterman an audience? There's a fresh crop of young people every year coming of age who are unaware of his decades long same old shtick.

Once again McRomney gets slapped around by the liberals who he is pandering to in order to be loved. He just doesn't learn.

Letterman is worth 400 million. he mocks Romneys wealth. I would love for Letterman to have the guts to sit down and be asked how he isnt a hypocrite on this issue. Though I do think Romney is a moron for appearing on a show with Letterman. on top of that any candidate appearing on Letterman Leno or SNL shows how low the people who are running for office have sunk
Good and bad wealth

Romney's money is bad bad bad. He stole it from the companies Bain took over and looted and then fired the employees. He came from a rich family and got richer. He's an evil reptilian Republican greed monger, like all of them are.
Letterman's money is good good good. In fact, it's twice as good as Romney's. He got it from beer companies and personal care products who advertise on his program because he makes people laugh by mocking Sarah Palin, Birstol, even Piper and Trig and other evil reptilian Republcan conservative tea baggers.

I'm not saying it's a good idea for Romney to have gone on Letterman's show. But the picture above appears to be almost two years old.

ANYBODY but Obama.
Still and all, Romney just doesn't seem to be a fighter.
Is he really where he is just because it is "his turn"?
ABO-ABO-ABO-ABO-ABO-ABO-ABO-ABO-ABO --- but does it mean, in Romney's case - All Bets are Off in relation to Are we going to be Better Off with him at the helm?
Based on the Massachusetts Healthcare BS that has come to light as far as relevance to claims, costs, and concerns - even given Willard's vaunted 'business sense' - I doubt it.
Even with the horror that is BHO (and Lib-Dims in general), Romney appears to me to be just another in a tremendously long line of cud-chewing, methane producing politicians that I consider to be, at best, a very unnecessary evil.
ABO - but in Romney's case a spoonful of sugar does NOT help the medicine go down.
Mayhap the Romney refrain will turn out to be "Cured of what we're suffering from and suffering from the cure."
I hope not; but if the best the GOP, conservatives, and the country can do is ABO - that truly sucks.

A "no" vote for Romney

Is a vote for Obama. Then God help the United States of America cause Obama isn't going to! In my opinion, he is here to destroy America!
That kind of thinking is what elected Clinton

Matt, a third party vote may as well be an Obama vote. If we do end up with BHO after election day and face four more years of the destructive policies that are strangling free-enterprise here in America because a stupid percentage of otherwise intelligent people decide to register a protest vote against the GOP for giving us a less-than-perfect candidate, we'll have no one to blame but ourselves.
Romney may not be the best choice, but he is the only choice.
Let's start the process of taking back conservatism with a giant step away from extreme liberalism to the center and we'll buy time to fix the rest of the problems, instead of watching the country go up in flames.

ABO-ABO-ABO.
Times infinity.
"Romney may not be the best choice, but he is the only choice."
And after my ABO-ABO-ABO; what is it, exactly, about ol' Willard that is supposed to have me doing delirious back-flips all about my property?
ABO means Anybody But Obama when it comes time to pull the lever in the voting booth; it does NOT mean that I must accept Romney as either a preferred candidate; a savior; or a cure for all diseases threatening this nation.
Romney may be a hail fellow, well met; and he might be the nicest two-legged creature extant - but he is still a politician.
Period.

It's bad enough that he's a faithless, lecherous pig. Now he's a hypocritical, faithless, lecherous pig with a big pile of unearned ego. My what an admirable combination.
Letterman has clearly gone

Letterman has clearly gone into Barbra Streisand level cognitive dissonance. The more he becomes "the man", the more he lashes out against others. I assume he feels as long as he rails against the Republican filthy rich, he can justify his own filthy Democrat lucre.
How ironic that the liberals always condemn the clergy for hypocrisy. Yet here we have a clear case of "My actions are of no account, as long as I'm preaching the Gospel." or maybe, "My sins are absolved by the redemption of the flock." Anyway you cut it, he's self-delusional. He's just a Jimmy Bakker in a different suit.

ONLY IN AMERICA could this stupid (I'm thinking of a word and it begins with A and ends with E) and it's not "Apple", get away with this kind of blatant, in your face "baffle them with bullshit" bullshit! Your kidding me $400,000,000.00? Your kidding me right?
David, what do you need all that money for? Do you give a lot to charity? How much? If you don't have a charity, I know a good charity. You are one, sorry excuse, for an American! I would take Mitt over you any day! A thousand times over you, any day!
Lunatic Millionaires

David Letterman better watch out for what he says about who is a lunatic. After all, he is a millionaire that likes to tell sexist jokes about 13 year old girls.
Norm MacDonald's impression of him is 200% SPOT ON TARGET of Letterman. Watch for yourselves:
