Chris Matthews: 'I'm With' Obama 'Putting the Knife In' Romney On 'Outsourcing'

By Noel Sheppard | June 26, 2012 | 19:19

Remember all those demands for civility in politics after the tragic shooting of Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords in January, 2011?

On Tuesday's Hardball, MSNBC's Chris Matthews said, "I’m with' [the Obama campaign] putting the knife in" Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney for the supposed outsourcing that happened at companies Bain Capital invested in (video follows with transcript and commentary):

CHRIS MATTHEWS, HOST: Here's Joe Biden in Iowa today making the same points that are running in the pro-Obama ads about Bain. Let's watch.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

VICE PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN: Here's the bottom line, folks. Bain and their companies they made a great deal of money facilitating this outsourcing and offshoring American jobs. Yeah, they made a lot of money. But in the process, they devastated, they devastated whole American communities. You've got to give Mitt Romney credit. He's a job creator - in Singapore, China, India. He's been very good at creating jobs overseas.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

MATTHEWS: So Mitt Romney is a punch line now.

CHUCK TODD, NBC: This is rough stuff and this is, look, Jerry (unintelligible) wrote a great column today and saying, you know, Mitt Romney’s path to victory, he has to win one of these sort of longtime Democratic blue states that have always been contested but Republicans have come up short. Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin. Take one of those three. And Iowa’s one of the other ones. And I tell you, this outsourcing stuff is…

MATTHEWS: Oh, it’s killer.

TODD: …it can be a killer against somebody.

MATTHEWS: I’m with them on putting the knife in on this one.

Story Continues Below Ad ↓

So, Matthews and Todd agreed that these outsourcing allegations are "killer."

And Matthews said, "I’m with them on putting the knife in on this one."

But this kind of talk was supposed to be eliminated in politics as a result of the Giffords shooting in January 2011.

Matthews even linked former Alaska governor Sarah Palin and Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) to that incident for the same absurd reasons most of the rest of the media did.

But now, seventeen months later, it's completely acceptable to talk about a campaign strategy as being "a killer" and supporting the president's team "putting the knife in [Romney] on this one."

The double standard is nothing less than sickening.

Maybe even worse, it came minutes after Matthews shamefully accused Republicans of trying to "kill off the older voters" in Pennsylvania with ID laws.

He's quite a journalist, isn't he?

I wonder if prissy Chrissy baby realizes that he is fast becoming the face of everything we despise about the liberal/progressives.

Submitted by oldfart on Tue, 06/26/2012 - 8:39pm.

Not in this world.
Obama has outsourced all our debt.
Obama gave money to GE, they outsourced their jobs to China.
Obama gave money to GM, they outsourced their jobs to Mexico and China.
Obama gave money to Brazil, so we can outsource our oil production to them, taking away good American Jobs.
Obama gave money to Chrysler, so they could be bought out by Fiat - more jobs overseas.
Way to go Chris - I don't know who is writing your copy but it sure does make out look like an idiot.

Ignorance personified

Submitted by dimar on Wed, 06/27/2012 - 9:50am.

When these Democrat fools learn what "outsourcing" is perhaps we can have an intelligent conversation. Outsourcing does not move jobs to other countries, it utilizes other AMERICAN companies who can do a job better than the company at hand. As correspondents, Chris and Chuck might want to take a look at the Obama campaign - which utilizes both outsourcing and offshoring (sending jobs overseas). They also might want to take a look at the stimulus monies spent on providing jobs overseas as opposed to American companies.

The Washington Free Beacon:

O IS FOR OUTSOURCING

OBAMA CAMPAIGN BASHES ROMNEY FOR BAIN OFFSHORING, EMPLOYS CALL CENTER IN CANADA

"The Obama campaign spent nearly $4,700 on telemarketing services from a Canadian telemarketing company called Pacific East between March and June, a Washington Free Beacon study of federal election filings shows.

Pacific East is not the only overseas telemarketing firm raking in cash from the president’s reelection campaign. Obama paid a call center in Manila, Philippines $78,314.10 for telemarketing services between the start of the campaign and March...

...Obama’s outsourcing was not limited to telemarketing. The Daily Caller reports that Obama also booked flights through corporate travel company Egencia’s Bellevue, Washington office. Egencia maintains a large presence in southeast Asia, including call centers in India and China."

http://freebeacon.com/o-is-for-outsourcing/

Outsourcing is only ok when liberals do it. Never mind the billions Obama insists we as a country continue to outsource our energy supplies thus millions of jobs to the Middle East, Venezuela, Brazil, etc. In fact, Mr. Outsourcer in Chief was promoting the US as a prime customer of Brazilian oil and IN FACT, his efforts using the drilling ban in the Gulf of Mexico liberated deep water drilling platforms from there to Brazil. Thousands upon thousands of high paying US jobs were lost to the Gulf residents when Obama's team of incompetents slow walked permits in defiance of a judge's orders.

Team Obama's failure to be consistent in the manner they deliver their message high lights the over all incompetence of Obama's poor choice in personnel HE CHOSES to staff his own campaign on top of his obvious failures in government posts. Obama has had 3 1/2 years to get his act together, and still can't get it correct. If he can't learn his lesson in 3 1/2 years, he never will.

Foolish liberals, this is what happens when you choose an incompetent messenger to advance your agenda.

MSNBC, it's time to cut Matthews loose he is damaging your brand.
