Maher Calls His HBO Audience 'Liberal Drug Addicts'
In January, Bill Maher admitted that his HBO Real Time audience were "brainwashed liberals."
On Friday's program, he took this observation a step further at the beginning of the program by calling them "a pumped up bunch of liberal drug addicts" (video follows with commentary):
Maybe this is why they laugh at inanities like, "Too scary? Have you ever looked into Michele Bachmann's eyes?"
Of course, Real Time is a program that celebrates drug use.
Not only does Maher boast of his pot smoking on almost every show, last year he performed a mock heroin injection with actor Zach Galifianakis. In 2010 Galifianakis lit up a joint on the program.
Yet, as NewsBusters reported, in January 2011, Maher linked the education problem in this country to drugs saying, "The kids are dumbasses and their parents are dumbasses and they’re taking drugs and f--king and not learning."
I guess it's too much of an intellectual leap for HBO and its star to realize that their weekly celebration of drug use is adding to the problem.

Push an old lady down a long flight of stairs, with the sound of bones breaking.
The audience will gasp, and some will be ready to become angry.

In this case ‘Liberal’ can modify either ‘Drug’ (=Kool-Aid addicts) or ‘Addicts’ (= drug addicts who are Liberal). It works either way.

They are pushers, for Pete' sake! Do you expect them to forsake their livelihood?

Maher FINALLY told the truth. And just to show exactly what kind of morons he has for an audience, let's see how many take offense at being called brainwashed drug addicts. But don't hold your breath...
