Bill Maher on March Madness: 'The Only Place Where You'll Ever Hear the Phrase "Kansas Is Advancing"'

Bill Maher sure hates red states.

Three days after referring to Alabama and Mississippi voters as "toothless," HBO's Real Time host on Friday called basketball's March Madness "the only place where you’ll ever hear the phrase 'Kansas is advancing'” (video follows with transcript and commentary):

BILL MAHER: There’s a lot to be excited about, right? It’s also March Madness. I love March Madness, the only place where you’ll ever hear the phrase “Kansas is advancing.”

Not surprisingly, his oh so open-minded crowd thought this was hysterical.

What is it about liberals that makes them feel it's acceptable to besmirch their fellow Americans on national television?

Maher's gutless.

Submitted by Newsbubba on Sat, 03/17/2012 - 11:51am.

Jeff Foxworthy will go on the road and make similar jokes, and have the audience laughing their asses off, even as he makes jokes about them (and himself).  They realize that he isn't doing it in a mean, vindictive way.  After all, he "smiles when he says that."

More importantly, he has the guts to face his audience and say outlandish things.

Maher, on the other hand, is a gutless bully and coward who will not dare leave the studio and a friendly, bigoted audience, to face the butt of his jokes.

I know little girls that could kick his sorry ass, and would love to do it.

PS:  He's still invited to the Friendly Bar Fight with the MSNBC girlie men if they ever decide to accept the invitation.  We're getting older and older, but we ain't holding our breath.

Difference

Submitted by Joe W. on Sat, 03/17/2012 - 12:19pm.

The HUGE difference between Jeff Foxworthy and Bill Maher is that Jeff's humor is self-deprecating...laughing at himself, while Bill Maher's is mean spirited, holier than thou and insulting to others he deems lower on the food chain than he and his ilk. Not to mention that Mr. Foxworthy is funny and Bill Maher is anything BUT funny. Except for his proboscis.....

I imagine Maher's audience is moslty white, male, age 16-30, thinks of itself as hip and "progressive," and self-absorbed.

The only place he's "advancing" is near playgrounds and bath houses.

President Obama is a Muslim (from his own lips), Kenyan (read it from his publicist) a homosexual (read it on a news magazine cover) and a Socialist (I'm alive and can see it for myself)

Someone so Full of Hatred

Doubtless this is true!

Submitted by russedav on Sat, 03/17/2012 - 12:59pm.

He is also incredibly self-deluded by his self-righteousness-in-the-midst-of-unspeakable-obscene-barbaric-vileness. It was only the Christian faith that hauled Western civilization out of barbarism and Maher is an epitome of how that has now been rejected by those who obsessingly, whoringly lust after returning to the barbaric slime whence we briefly escaped. If this isn't insane there's no such thing.

To the DNC...

Submitted by pcnav on Sat, 03/17/2012 - 8:39pm.

To the DNC...You need to reign in your defacto leader before he destroys any hope you have in the 2012 elections. He's making it a point to smear the "fly over country" on a weekly basis.

If I was in a conservative super-pac I would make an ad of nothing but Maher speeches and monologues and then end with his publicity shot donation to Obama's super-pac. I would then play it in every swing state repeatedly.

From pcnav:

"If I was in a conservative super-pac I would make an ad of nothing but Maher speeches and monologues and then end with his publicity shot donation to Obama's super-pac. I would then play it in every swing state repeatedly."

And WHY AREN'T THEY!?!? What is the RNC so afraid of? Are they too busy helping Romney and Santorum and Gingrich and Paul bash each other that they're not looking at the big picture?

Why the ever-lovin' HELL is Maher's face and comments not plastered over every TV set in "fly-over country," making people angrier and angrier to the point where they'll hit the polls in DROVES in November and vote BHO out of office - and his cronies in the Senate as well?

MICHAEL STEELE - WHAT IS THE RNC AFRAID OF!?!?

“I will not stand by and watch this great country destroy itself under mediocre leadership, that drifts from one crisis to the next, eroding our national will and purpose.” – Ronald Reagan, July 17, 1980.
