Zakaria Asks Soros if Republicans 'Want the Economy to Stay Weak in an Election Year'

As NewsBusters reported earlier, CNN's Fareed Zakaria on Sunday was in full Barack Obama campaign mode.

Before asking guest George Soros if he was going to create a Super PAC to help the current White House resident, Zakaria questioned the billionaire about whether or not Republicans "want the economy to stay weak in an election year" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

GEORGE SOROS: After the elections if the Republicans win, actually, they'll undergo miraculous transformation where they'll discover that actually it wouldn't be so bad. Therefore, we can afford to have some stimulus.

FAREED ZAKARIA, HOST: So you think Mitt Romney, if elected, would pursue a similar progress?

SOROS: I think - I'm pretty sure that would happen.

ZAKARIA: When you -

SOROS: I mean, of course, Obama would like to as well. He may find it more difficult if the Republicans continue to obstruct him.

ZAKARIA: Do you think - so in a sense you feel that some part of this Republican opposition to an additional stimulus is - is just cynical. They want the economy to stay weak in an election year.

Did you notice that Zakaria didn't ask his guest about any of the bills House Republicans have passed to stimulate the economy that have not even come up for a vote in the Democrat Senate?

I guess that wouldn't fit the agenda of trying to get Obama reelected.

Makes you wonder if any CNN executives are paying attention to the shameless campaigning by this anchor or if it bothers them in any way.

Associate Editor’s note: As you are likely aware, since the financial collapse of 2008, charities and non-profit organizations have seen a sharp reduction in donations. Although the environment has improved, contributions are still nowhere near where they were prior to the recession. Unfortunately, the Media Research Center has not been immune. With this in mind, your support has become more important than ever. With a critical election approaching, the liberal media needs to be monitored 24/7. As we have been predicting for months, the press are willing to do anything to get their beloved politicians elected and/or reelected. As such, we need your help to fight this fight. Any contribution, even $10, is greatly appreciated. Please consider a tax-deductible gift to the Media Research Center to help us battle the liberal media. Thank you.

No ass-w**e, because unlike you and the rest of the DNC-loving sheep, we actually care about our country above our political party.

weak economy

Submitted by Agnostic on Sun, 02/12/2012 - 6:25pm.

I'm trying to remember all the reporters and talking heads asking Schumer about his letter that acted as a catalyst to start the final collapse of the mortgage market. And how the Media Democrats were praising the economy left and right under Bush - they just knew that we wouldn't have the struggles of +3% growth and <6% unemployment much longer.

But that was before those negative Republicans got control of the message with their majority in one house of the Congress and of course the grip on the media.

It's Obama and the failed

Submitted by Slyrr on Sun, 02/12/2012 - 5:46pm.

It's Obama and the failed policies of Democrats that have 'weakened' the economy.

This is a tacit admission they're making here. This liberal fool just stepped in it big time by admitting that the economic policies of his beloved Messiah have been an absolute failure. He's confessing that ever promise Obama made in 08 was nothing but a pack of lies.

This sad attempt to deflect attention away from his slave master will fail too.

If a Liberal/Democrat politician/media figure wants to put their arms around you, or pat you on the back, all they're doing is looking for a good place to stick a knife.

maybe an ounce of integrity between the two of them

Submitted by ohio granny on Sun, 02/12/2012 - 5:47pm.

Does Soros and Zakaria an ounce of integrity between the two of them? I don't think so. Remember when the democRats were trashing the economy during the 2006 election cycle? What was the unemployment number then? 5% or 5-1/2%? The one thing democRats are good at is projecting. They ALWAYS project what they are doing or have done by accusing the republicans of doing that very thing.

Zarkaria a disgraceful, shameful excuse for a so-called reporter. George Soros is a disgusting excuse for a human.

⇒ So this Zakaria guy

Submitted by Cool Arrow on Sun, 02/12/2012 - 5:54pm.

This Zakaria guy, the one who wrote the book "The Post-American World" sits in cozy collusion with George Soros, in judgment of the American system from which they both draw quite a tidy sum.

Hey, wasn't Soros a Nazi collaborator?

He was a Nazi rat, He told then where to find Judes. Since our Dear Leader cares nothing about Isreal and its people it is OK for him to be the puppet to Soros.

If Republican obstruction was

Submitted by MrSnuggles on Sun, 02/12/2012 - 6:54pm.

If Republican obstruction was blamed for the failing recovery just mere months ago logic dictates that the recent economic improvement is also to be blamed on Republican obstruction. Or does the left get to have it both ways?

Failing Recovery?

Submitted by djwolf12 on Sun, 02/12/2012 - 7:06pm.

Was there EVER a recovery? The only things I remember from this douchebag's reign of error:

2009: Blame Bush for everything and all people who disagree with Obama is a racist.
2010: Pass a 2,000 page Socialistic Health Care bill that goes against the will of the American People that nobody wants and still blame Bush for everything. Also, everyone who still disagrees with Obama is a racist.
2011: The US gets the first downgrade in credit in History, Obama refuses to stop spending money and borrow from China. You guessed it, Still blaming Bush and everyone that refuses to yield their remaining freedoms to Obamunism is a racist.
2012: Obamunism makes its way into the church and everyone that still disagrees with King Hussein is a racist and everything up to this point in 2012 is still Bush's fault.

Why is Soros in the news so much lately? Something tells me the progressives are up to more no-good than usual. Something bad is getting ready to break.

To more fully comprehend the Left, one must read “Leftism As Psychopathy” by John Ray, M.A., Ph.D. Caution, it might scare you a little bit.

I"ve pretty much been

Submitted by killa37 on Mon, 02/13/2012 - 12:49am.

I"ve pretty much been thinking the same thing, because they've done their best to keep Count Dracula Soros out of the public eye for quite some time, because of his reputation and his insidious methods.......................but lately, they've been putting him on a lot of shows, and trying to make him look like some sort of independant 'philantropist' who is an astute observer of America and American politics, and whatever he says or thinks is supposed to carry some sort of 'gravitas'. And they will NOT portray him as the man behind the curtain, funding all sorts of shadow organizations - all designed to keep the communist/progressive/liberal agenda in place, while doing all they can to destroy any opposition to Boy Blunder and the continuing overthrow of the American system of politics.

This guy is as evil as you can possibly get, and I think he's proven it to quite a few people and places and governments. But he 'owns' so many people in so many places that they are beholden to him - and that includes Boy BlahBlah and the MSM - so that we're NOT going to get any negative news or information about Soros - somehow he's going to be some sort of icon for the coming election, as well as the 'transformation' of America - especially if Boy Blunder wins his second term.............hell, Soros might end up being some kind of 'czar', if that happens!!! Not for the money................just for the final nail in the coffin.

If anyone should know about

Submitted by Trix Rabbit on Mon, 02/13/2012 - 12:46am.

If anyone should know about keeping an economy weak, it would be a nazi-collaborator, currency busting, convicted felon and all around s.o.b. like soros.

For the MSM: In your pomp and all your glory, you're a poorer man than me.  As you lick the boots of death born out of fear.
