Greg Gutfeld: 'Go To Hell, Paul Krugman, You Bearded, Bitter Buffoon'

The outrage concerning New York Times columnist Paul Krugman's disgusting comments on the tenth anniversary of 9/11 came from all quarters of the political arena Monday.

Never one to mince words, Fox News's Greg Gutfeld on "The Five" said what many Americans were feeling about this liberal sociopath, "Go to hell, Paul Krugman, you bearded, bitter buffoon" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

GREG GUTFELD, HOST: Welcome back to THE FIVE.

So, on the tenth anniversary of 9/11, "New York Times" columnist Paul Krugman delivered the odious piece of dribble ever on the attack -- well, at least since the last time he wrote about it. The headline is, quote, "The Years of Shame," end quote. And no, it's not directed at radical Islam. Instead, he targets America and the, quote, "fake heroes."

Krugman claims that the atrocity has been hijacked. The sick word given that he's not actually talking about the real hijackers who killed some 3,000 Americans. No, he's referring to people like George Bush and Rudy Giuliani who he thinks capitalized on the horrible crimes. But the worst part, at the end of this column, the creep writes, "I'm not going to allow comments on the post for obvious reasons."

That obvious reason, he's a coward. I mean, why else would you ban responses? He's like a 10-year-old boy crank-calling all of us only to hang up even before he hears a response, hearing his shame for his own wickedness.

Now, I watch the memorial services and I feel sorrow for the families whose grief never really ends. But since I'm lousy at emotional reflection I usually avoid it. But at least I can summarize what many feel today in nine words: go to hell, Paul Krugman, you bearded, bitter buffoon.

Hey, Dana, there is something wrong with him. Can we pretty much agree?

DANA PERINO: Yes, week after week, it gets a little bit more crazy. I mean, when he did that thing about like for the stimulus bill, we should to have the alien invasion, if you all remember that.

Story Continues Below Ad ↓

Perino was referring to a story first reported by NewsBusters last month wherein Krugman,  appearing on CNN's "Fareed Zakaria GPS," actually called for aliens to invade America so that we'd respond with a massive military buildup that would stimulate the economy.

I kid you not. But I digress:

PERINO: I really think that the former Enron advisor who is Paul Krugman was actually making a cry of help -- cry for help and he was stuffed in a locker for too long when he was in high school. And what he wrote -- I mean, I'm not trying to make light of what he wrote. It was despicable. I actually don't know anybody who defended it.

Actually, there were plenty of liberal wackos that defended it including numerous contributors and members of Daily Kos. But I once again digress:

PERINO: It's also poorly written with the really dumb spelling error. So you have to wonder about the "New York Times." Is anybody reading this?

KIMBERLY GUILFOYLE: How did it get past the editors?

(CROSSTALK)

GUTFELD: It's on his blog so maybe they don't bother to read it. It seems to me like something I would write right before I went to bed on Ambien, convoluted weird mess.

ERIC BOLLING: So, they are cool with whatever he says on his blog? I mean, can you imagine? I can't imagine they are.

By the way, Krugman, you're right, he is crying out for attention. We're giving it to him. I think we should --

BOB BECKEL: The thing I thought about it was -- first of all, I wish I could cut up all comments directed at me. But I can't do that, and not only that, you should read the e-mail. Step up and get out of the way.

The only thing I will say this -- this was terrible written piece. It was a horrible message. But the one point he did make, and I'll repeat this and not direct it at my friend Dana but the fact is that this did lead to us getting into a war in Iraq that was a mistake. It made Iran a regional power that should not have been. We never should have been in war in Iraq. We went in for the wrong reasons, but that is the only negative consequence of 9/11 as far as I see.

BOLLING: Are you making a commentary on 9/11 or Krugman's piece?

BECKEL: No, no, I said, what he said in his piece, that we went to war in Iraq as a result --

BOLLING: You're agreeing with him.

BECKEL: I say the war in Iraq is wrong. It remains wrong and it costs this country enormously.

GUTFELD: OK. I want to move on --

PERINO: So that makes somebody a fake hero?

BECKEL: No, wait, I don't make that connection at all. I did not make that connection. I'm just saying --

PERINO: You're saying the war was wrong.

BECKEL: Saying the war was wrong.

GUILFOYLE: Do you disagree with what he said?

BECKEL: Absolutely, absolutely, absolutely. You guys -- buffoon is a good word.

GUILFOYLE: He doesn't let people make comments on it. Rumsfeld has tweeted that he's canceling his subscription. One of the last three people --

GUTFELD: I know Rumsfeld --

Actually, that is true about Rumsfeld:

(CROSSTALK)

BECKEL: I'm going to practice a new thing, because I was told to do this now. It was a dumb, shikes thing to do.

(LAUGHTER)

PERINO: If you don't want to take comments, you don't have to, like you don't have to turn it off. He proactively provoked more commentary by saying, "And I'm not going to take any comments." It's just so stupid because if they just want to have taken the comments, he doesn't have to respond `em.

GUTFELD: Yes. And also, he gets paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to take the heat for his own commentary. The fact that he crawls under a bed after he writes something is kind of bad.

PERINO: No, I think he crawled under his bed with his little Internet so that he could see all the things written about him.

GUTFELD: Yes.

Perino's likely correct, for Krugman doubled down on his stupidity with a follow-up post Monday which I choose not to cite as the thought of it sickens me.

At least one member of my family

Submitted by HelenS on Tue, 09/13/2011 - 5:43am.

At least one member of my family is too far gone mentally as well. Trouble is, he's young (30s) and up until Sunday, I thought he was in his right mind.

Turns out he is one of those who blame us for the attacks.

As you can imagine, I was shocked, first, then disgusted. Now I wonder who the heck he's listening to!

Submitted by killa37 on Tue, 09/13/2011 - 1:26pm.

I had to watch my Dad get buried in Punchbowl Veteran's Cemetary in Honolulu about 4 years ago.......my new grandson was just months old, but he didn't flinch during the 17-gun salute. The last words out of my Dad's mouth, the day before he died, was calling me a 'shithead'!!! I loved it - it was pure 'him'!!! Of course, my mother was humorously embarrassed, because my father never swore during 'normal times'..........

But - and my liberal brother can't stand hearing this - our father would be rolling over in his grave if he were alive, and coherent , today..............so that's maybe one good reason that he's gone.

The same thing happened to my Dad 3 years ago....he had Parkinson's, and it was hard to watch him slowly fade away. My father passed away on December 2, 2007, and was buried in Arlington on January 18, 2008, with full military honors. He was a full bird Colonel.

I cant even imagine his anger at what is happening today........I'm almost thankful he didn't live to see it. My thoughts are with you Dave.

If making faces and odd noises and being a totally partisan hack and an overweight grumpy slob makes for good television, then Fox is right and I am wrong.

letter sent to ny times prez, editor

Submitted by Andrew H. on Tue, 09/13/2011 - 3:20am.

Dear Paul,

First, let me say that you deserve kudos for writing what you feel. That is the only thing I will or can say that is positive.

To suggest that 9.11 had quickly became a shame because of what you term faux heroes in the name of Messrs. Kerick, Giulianni, and Bush is not even an interesting re-do of your animus toward people who do not think like you do—thinking being a task normally achieved by human beings able to process information—a task that has apparently become a strain by your office.

These men have never made the claim that somehow they were heroes. They were and are mere mortals who happened to be in positions that required response and action as leaders. Oh, much to your chagrin, were they destined perhaps to be in place at the time of the evil horror. I want to mention, since you didn’t, that the evil horror was brought to New York, Washington DC and Pennsylvania by what most in the country (that would be the most too who do not buy the Times) call radical Muslims born out of radical Islam, taught by wretched evil mullahs.

Spell “the” with an “h,” please. One should re-read even though you have spell-check. Perhaps you added “te,” to your dictionary. I don’t know why but it is not surprising based on much of what you have been saying and writing lately. It is a sad thing when one slips into some form of mental disability. I am sorry you have for it is sad to see such a potential become such a withered thing.

A relative of mine wrote the book, “Conscience of a Liberal,” and I do not see the title as being accurate for this screed. Although historical now, the book remains a reference for many to absorb and appreciate for the economic and agricultural period that began in the thirties. Mr. Packer would not appreciate your use of the term conscience or liberal because you are proving that the liberal mind of this day is not like it once was—not like it once could contribute, not like it once strived to be an honest voice—and not so shallow to call people faux heroes who happened to be on scene. Whether or not there is an active conscience in those who call themselves liberal is for others to determine on their own. I have my own point of view on this.

If part of this blog was unwritten but would have included your negative reactions to the United States going to war, what response other than war could have been appropriate? Do we wait for another attack? What response does evil deserve in your view? Do you think rebuke by voice is enough? How about a strong letter? Really—? There are times, Paul. There are times.

Krugman and company are just

Submitted by jdhawk on Tue, 09/13/2011 - 7:49am.

Krugman and company are just getting started. We see the failure of socialism on display in Europe day in and day out. It is throwing Europe into a cauldron of riots. Not a day goes by that there isn't a riot going on against the governments of Europe because these governments have promised to take care of their citizens from birth to death with the blanket of socialism and now they are unable to deliver.

Socialists, here and abroad, know that the edifice of funding all sorts of government programs - first for the neediest amongst us - and then to all comers is unsustainable. They hope beyond hope to kick start their economies that have been so accommodating to their lustful ideas of buying vote after vote in election after election by promising the moon.

The problem is that the debt is now overwhelming - both public and private.

Our federal government is spending nearly twice as much as taxes pay for. Yet, they have the temerity to begin the stripping of the self-funded Social Security program to stimulate even more. Again, in the hopes that it will work this time.

Meanwhile, we are at 100% of debt to GDP. We are adding a trillion and a half of debt per year to that debt. Yet, we are excluding nearly half of our citizens from paying anything at all in taxes and half of those citizens are getting money back.

It is as if they are purposefully trying to bankrupt this country, but that's not it. They are trying to save socialism. That is their only goal. Whatever it takes, socialism must prevail.

It is going to get a lot rougher out there before it gets better. Expect thousands of the type of riots and protests that we saw against Governor Walker's state government and that we are seeing daily in across all of Europe.
