Schultz Admits Editing Perry, Doesn't Apologize for Falsely Accusing Him of Making Racist Remark About Obama
As NewsBusters reported hours ago, MSNBC's Ed Schultz on Monday deceptively edited comments made by Rick Perry to falsely accuse the Texas governor of making a racist remark about President Obama.
"The Ed Show" host admitted his mistake on Tuesday's program, but failed to apologize to Perry or even acknowledge his despicable accusation let alone retract it (video follows courtesy Breitbart TV with partial transcript and commentary, file photo):
ED SCHULTZ, HOST: Now last night we played a clip of Governor Perry talking about the debt being a black cloud over this country. We did not present the full context of those statements and we should have. Here’s the full clip. Let’s get it right. Here’s the full clip.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
GOVERNOR RICK PERRY (R-TEXAS): I'm a pro-business governor. I don`t make any apologies about it, and I will be a pro-business president. Getting America back to work is the most important issue that faces this country, being able to pay off $14.5 trillion or $16 trillion worth of debt. That big black cloud that hangs over America, that debt that is so monstrous. There’s only one way you get rid of it that’s practical, that makes sense, and that is to free up America, free up American entrepreneurs.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
SCHULTZ: No doubt about it, it was a mistake and we regret the error on this particular statement. We should not have included it in our coverage of his overheated rhetoric. That’s our mistake.
What a farce.
Schultz went on national television Monday with a highly-edited video accusing the governor of the nation's second most populated state of making a racist remark about the president.
He went on 24 hours later admitting that said video was edited without acknowledging or apologizing for the deplorable slur.
What kind of a "news" organization is this?
The folks at Comcast, General Electric, NBC, and MSNBC should be ashamed of themselves for not requiring their employee to issue a complete retraction for his error along with an apology to the person that was wrongly defamed. Anything less compounds the insult and the injury.
If this is what Americans can expect from MSNBC during the upcoming campaign, maybe there should be a disclaimer running at the bottom of the screen 24/7 informing viewers that the information being presented might be erroneous, but those involved really don't care because they're all in the tank for the current White House resident.
That at least would be far more honest than Schultz's pathetic mea culpa as well as what's currently passing for "news" at this disgrace of a network.
*****Update: Back in May, Schultz was suspended one week for calling Laura Ingraham a "right-wing slut." How will Schultz be reprimanded for intentionally editing a speech by a governor in order to accuse him of making a racist remark about the president?

Is it safe to say that the Washington/New York/America press corps/Democrat party would call any Republican a racist for stating the fact that the Obama years have been a dark, dark, dark, dark, dark period in American history?
Will it be deemed "racist" to oppose a federal or state holiday on Obama's birthday? Within weeks of Obama leaving office expect the Democrat party in Congress to propose such legislation.

Mistake? Oh my aching aunt! You didn’t “accidently” edit that clip in midsentence. The “error” and the “mistake” along with the malice, was entirely intentional. This is pathetic.

If every Conservative/Republican in the country canceled their Comcast products, mentioning MessNBC's biased, hate filled Socialist bullcrap as the reason, MessNBC would no longer exist in less then a month. Everyone at that network would be scrambling to get a job at the Huffington Post or Daily Beast. That is a fact!
41% of this country is Conservative and if you are buying Comcast products, you are financing the anti-American values socialist propaganda for the 19% of America's Leftists. Let them finance their own propaganda. Can you say "Air America"?
So it's real simple. Cancel your Comcast Cable/Internet/VOIP and tell the customer service department that you will no longer finance the anti-American values of MessNBC.

How does this guy still have a job? Dishonesty and incompetence usually get people fired. Of course, if the liberal media operated by that standard, there wouldn't be many of them left on television. That would make it much harder to illustrate the contrast between liberal propaganda and real journalism. Thanks for being so transparent, Mr. Schultz. It makes it easy to expose your bias. Seriously, how does this man keep his job? Even at the Orwellian propaganda machine known as MSNBC has to see this hack as a liability to them. They are truly running scared now because they can see their dream of hope and change evaporating right in front of their eyes. It's still a long way out from election day. I'm surprised to see them so desperate so early.

Lesson Learned - Nothing bad happens to NBC when they lie and cheat.
Future Prognosis - NBC will incorporate this into their standard operating procedures and regular coverage, knowing there is no fallout at all, and that the end justifies the means.

So did Schultz ACTUALLY HEAR the entire quote before going off on his race baiting BS?
If not Schulz is incompetent and should be fired. So should the audio editor.
Where were the Senior editors?
They need to be demoted to holding the battery packs for the video camera operators.
So, even after we find out that the "BLACK CLOUD" was SPECIFICALLY identified as "the debt over our heads" Schultz would rather claim racism than have to address the Owe-bama debt, where all you can do is point to the Democrats who jacked up the debt with their irresponsible spending with nothing to show for it.
Its not like the liberal media has any grasp of facts, or has any desire to report accurate information WITHOUT OPINIONS.

Unintended editing...

He doesn't even bother to inform folks that this was unintentional. Everyone knows better, these edits, these gaffs, these scenes where this screen caption is over that image never ever ever happens to their Democratic heroes. It always involves a Republican and at some point they need to face the facts that if that is what they must do...lie, distort, edit, and misinform in order to attempt to sway the public then they are wrong. Wrong in a historical sense, wrong in an ethical sense, wrong in thinking their politics have a more compelling side.
Their low ratings and mistrust is not a normal function of society. They are failing everyone by not reporting the facts while constantly belittling the few network outlets or programs that do. Hopefully, they realize how pathetic they have become by doing that. History ultimately will call them out thanks to youtube and the digital age and has never been kind to any entity that withheld the truth, distorted the facts, or lied to the public. They will be regarded as the flat earthers who condemned those who sought the truth no matter what they feel the public needs to be told for their own good.
If they cannot simply report a story from all sides and let the public form their own opinion then they are not news reporters they are propagandists.
I wonder how many of them went to school thinking it would be fantastic to hide the truth and report falsehoods on behalf of politicians when they got their jobs in the media?
They are the sellouts, the conformers, the traitors to society, and quite literally the willing fascist press of an overreaching political machine.
