Krauthammer Challenges Shields: Where Is Democrat Budget? What's Their Plan?
As he normally does on "Inside Washington," PBS's Mark Shields Friday was waxing moronic about Republican plans to balance the budget.
Not pleased by the fictional account on display, syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer challenged his fellow panelist saying, "Democrats have not even produced a budget for 2012. What’s their budget?" (video follows with transcript and commentary):
MARK SHIELDS: Consistency has not been a problem with Republicans. They have endorsed the Ryan plan, which of course does not provide for a balanced budget, and now they are pushing for a balanced budget. 103 House Republicans have already gone on record as saying they will not vote to raise the debt ceiling unless there is a cap of eighteen percent of government spending, federal spending, which is seven percent below what we're spending right now. In addition to that, they insist on a constitutional amendment and to cut spending by half, the deficit by half next year, all of which are impossible. Every serious person who has looked at this, whether in a group or a study group or commission or whatever, knows that there have to be revenue enhancements, taxes raised, as well as spending cuts. And the idea of just trying to do it with spending cuts alone is just irrational.
CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER: Democrats have not even produced a budget for 2012.
SHIELDS: The, the, the, the…
KRAUTHAMMER: What’s their budget?
SHIELDS: The case is there. The President is on…
KRAUTHAMMER: Where are their numbers, where is the plan?
SHIELDS: The President has…
KRAUTHAMMER: Where are their numbers and where is the plan?
SHIELDS: It’s right there in the President…
KRAUTHAMMER: Where?
SHIELDS: Look, I mean, the president in the dealings with Joe Biden, and the sixth, and the Senators and Congressmen. It is there.
What nonsense.
The inconvenient truth for liberal media members is Congressional Democrats haven't proposed a budget since the fiscal 2010 one was passed on April 3, 2009.
That's 27 straight months without a budget proposal from a Democrat in either the House or the Senate, and people like Shields have the gall to go on television and complain about proposals from Congressional Republicans.
The idea that in the midst of a serious budget crisis in this country, one political party has completely abdicated its primary responsibility should be drawing media ire on a daily basis.
Instead, these shills point fingers at the only party trying to rectify the situation.
It really makes you wonder how they look themselves in the mirror when they brush their teeth.

This article was made possible by what so many TEA partiers thought was a defeat, or at least a lack of enough victory.
I was overjoyed when Republicans took control of the Majority in the House, where the control over the tax money truly rests, and the Democrats remained in Majority in the Senate.
The HOUSE could put up what the PEOPLE want and the SENATE could then put up what GOVERNMENT wants. Neither side could play the trite game of blaming the other side for not allowing its voice to be heard. Both sides could be heard.
So what do Democrats do? They simply refuse to show the people what they want to do in the name of big government and attack the Republicans as if they are somehow stopping them from showing the people their hand. The caveat there is that Soetoro did present a budget, which even Democrats ran scared from when it came time to vote on it -on the record-.
I see a huge victory today with the undeniable reality that Democrats are stuck in the opposition rut. Now, if we can just impress upon people that opposition cannot lead, we will really be getting somewhere. I submit that 4 dollar gasoline, and boxes of cereal, alongside energy bills at home that are twice what they were just a few years ago is driving home that point quite successfully.
After demeaning, chastising, hammering, chiding and otherwise browbeating or attempting to marginalize anyone who dared offer any opposition to their dictatorial ways, they are stuffed into a corner today too afraid of those they attacked to even speak forth their rights restricting and controlling ideas out in the open. Thus, their plan for election is to refuse to say what they will do if elected. Yeah, that will work out good for them, huh? Sure, it will.
I am left to wonder if congressional Democrats, or Soetoro himself, has ever heard the statement that "You can run, but you can't hide".
Wow. Shields vs The Hammer.

Maxie is stammering and stuttering like Boy Blunder - searching for a coherent lie that might pass for a believable answer. And he says that 'the President is on'...................... vacation??? drugs??? delusional visions of intelligence??? We all know that Boy Blah-Blah and the Dems haven't done a damn thing about this except flap their gums............and then Boy Bully gets up at his psuedo-press conference and tries to act like some kind of strongarm...........and then goes on another vacation.
And Plugs Biden??? Yeah, right...............what did HE do??? I think he went to Europe or something..........and even if he WAS there, the guy is too stupid (sorry Joe, you're IQ is NOT higher than mine!!!) and too inept to make a difference anyway.

This is where the show should be stopped and someone demand of Shields - show us the Presidents numbers. You're repeatedly saying "Its there! Its there! it's right there!" Where is there Mr. Shields. To allow someone to blatantly lie, as he repeatedly does on this show, is a disgrace. He need to told talk facts or shut up.
The Democrats DID have a plan--presented by Obama
Submitted by TheHistorian on Sun, 07/03/2011 - 5:43pm.
Just because they all voted against it in the Senate doesn't mean that they didn't have a plan. It just means that they forgot it was THEIR party's plan. They got their hand caught in the cookie jar and so they had to vote against it or face charges of fiscal irresponsibility at home. Probably Sanders and Leahy, if present, voted against it because it was too little spending. Never have seen the roll call that day.

It's the anti-budget.

"The case is there. The President is on..."
The "case" is there, alright. The "case" is opposition to the budget that has been proposed by the House. And opposition to any other budget proposal that the Senate republicans make. Obama hasn't proposed an actual budget. Nether has the any of the other democrats. All THEY propose is short-term exertions to last year's budget, along with raising the debt limit to allow for those continuations. I guess that makes the democrat's "proposal" an "anti-budget." Anti, of course, to anything the republicans are proposing.

Revenue Enhancements
Submitted by GregE on Sun, 07/03/2011 - 10:04pm.
I ain't no Alfred Eeensteen, but if I am spending $100,000 a year, and only taking in $75,000, and I cut my spending by $30,000, I now am now taking in $5000 more than I am spending - a surplus. I no longer need my revenue enhanced to cover my expenditures.
The "need" for "revenue enhancements" is really not a need at all. It's simply a backhanded way of saying "we aren't going to cut enough." Unfortunately, there isn't a Republican out front who has the ability to describe this properly to the citizenry.
Increase the cuts until the current "revenue" stream covers it.
The End.

If he can't lose weight and since he is old he should then have to appear before a Death Panel to see if any more procedures on him will be allowed if he becomes ill.
After that we should then ask him if he is still an Obama kisser.
