Kathleen Parker Angry at Eliot Spitzer, Threatening to Leave Show

By Noel Sheppard | December 01, 2010 | 12:11

Kathleen Parker is apparently very angry at CNN co-host Eliot Spitzer and is threatening to leave the show.

According to the New York Post, Parker feels Spitzer is continually upstaging her:

Washington Post columnist Kathleen Parker actually stormed off the set of the "Parker Spitzer" show during a pre-taping a few weeks ago -- furious that her co-host is continually allowed to take charge of their nightly CNN chat-fest, the insiders said.

Although still fuming, Parker did return to wrap up the segment, they said.

But she's angry that the show's producers are allegedly doing nothing to play up her strengths on the ailing show, the sources said.

Ailing show is right. As NewsBusters reported moments ago, "P-S" is down 35 percent in viewership compared to this time last year when "Campbell Brown" was still on the air in this time slot.

As the Post noted, "Someone could soon be shown the door over the behind-the-scenes battling -- and over the fact that [sic] show has done so poorly in the all-important Nielsen ratings, the sources said."

Anyone really surprised that

Anyone really surprised that Spit is unable to work with a female as an equal after all the misogynous stuff he's revealed over the years? Wonder if any of the gals at NAG will defend Kat.

Seriously, Parker didn't know Spitzer when she signed on?

They are so low in the ratings that soon their audience will be so low that Nielsen can not measure it. Believe this to be a last ditch effort to attract viewers.

I wonder who it'll be?...Parker or Spitzer? Both are useless, although I'm betting that Spitzer is the bigger source of trouble with these two, based on his history with women.

I used to like Parker's column. Then she seemed turn into a left-wing nut. I think some progressive democrat vampire must have attacked Parker in the middle of the night and her brains turned into a John Kerry impersonator.

a conservative, and as of the last few years, she has definitely taken a serious left turn in her writings and discourse. As a result, I have zero use for her anymore. Her decision to do this insipid show with Spitzer was a really, really bad one, and the show, predictably, has become a train wreck. What was she expecting from Eliot Spitzer? Moonlight and roses? This guy is a slime bag, and I'll never understand why any woman, right or left, would agree to do a show with him...You reap what you sow.

CNN pushed Brown out because

Submitted by Hunter12 on Wed, 12/01/2010 - 12:55pm.

CNN pushed Brown out because her ratings were in the toilet and this show is doing 35% worse than her show.

"The year-over-year ratings have been particularly harsh to Ms. Brown and to CNN as a whole. When comparing 2010 to date with the same time frame in 2009, Ms. Brown’s audience has dropped by by 38 percent. CNN’s total day audience has declined by 31 percent."

I wonder how many levels there are to the sub-basements at CNN and how far they wil carry this turkey.

They ought to re-bill this show as a reality show.  They can just record the behind the scenes drama and show that.  Call it Spit & Snit, The Jersey Shore Years.

I predict that it will be the biggest show on CNN.

if the show lost Kathleen Parker.  Oops, I forgot; I haven't even bothered to turn that show on.  Ah, well, Kathleen, you are finding out what happens where "conservatives" (which you are not) make deals with "lieberals" (and Spitzer certainly fits the first three letters of that).

That's all.  She's a flop.

What are the ratings for "Moaning Joe" by the way?  With all his PALIN TALK lately I'd assume Parker/Spitzer has the ratings of "Dancing With The Stars" compared to it.

E.D. Hill

Submitted by Kingfish17 on Wed, 12/01/2010 - 3:53pm.

While channel surfing the other night, I was surprised to see E.D. Hill, (who used to be on FOX a while back), was guesting for Parker.  I watched for the next half hour in the hope that she might say something conservative, but she never said anything that could have been described as an opinion, either right or left.

She too, was totally dominated by Spitzer, who basically asked all the questions and offered up most of the commentary.

E.D. Hill on MSNBC

Submitted by exLib on Thu, 12/02/2010 - 2:36pm.

She was at MSNBC on Election Night as the "right-wing" punching bag.

I watched for about 5 minutes and couldn't stomach the giggling from the other 5 left-wing nut bags everytime she attempted to make a point.

She would say something about the meaning of the elections were positive for Republicans and the gas-bag from Daily Beast or HuffPo would derisively let out a ghoulish laugh and then plainly insult her to her face.  The host would then look at her with the evil eye, laugh a little and then move on and let the other 3 or 4 panelists talk about how stupid the comment was and how the election was bad news for Palin and The Tea Party.

I'll be Spitzer stays on, Parker = Alan Colmes without convictio

Submitted by exLib on Thu, 12/02/2010 - 2:40pm.

I'd be willing to bet Spitzer stays on as an analyst at the very least.

Liberals tend to not care about ethics or moral shortcomings in their politicians as long as they are idealogical purists like Spitzer who isn't afraid to insult, slander or denigrate the other side.

Parker on the other hand is a useful idiot to the left.  She is similar to Alan Colmes in that they can't argue their sides views very well and in her case doesn't even try.  The big difference though between her and Alan Colmes is that Colmes is actually a hard-core liberal.  He defends Obama, crizicizes him from the left and such.  If you ever listen to his radio show it's pretty hard core.  I suppose one could think it's an act, but if it is he's doing it well the majority of the time.
