A rather remarkable thing happened Thursday: a documentary highly skeptical of man's role in global warming was aired on broadcast television.
The program, "Global Warming - The Other Side," was created and hosted by John Coleman, the founder of The Weather Channel, and debuted on San Diego's independent television station KUSI.
Readers should be familiar with Coleman as the man who not only called global warming "the greatest scam in history," but also advocated suing Nobel Laureate Al Gore to expose the fraud.
Breaking with American media's tradition of almost exclusively broadcasting programs supporting Gore's view of climate change, "The Other Side" remarkably devoted an entire hour to fully explaining what the global warming-obsessed press dishonestly hide from the public (videos in four parts embedded below the fold, h/t Climate Depot):
KUSI should be applauded for airing this special.
Like nothing produced for American television to date, "The Other Side" methodically explained what the theory of global warming actually is, and addressed how carbon dioxide not only is a minor player in the atmosphere's greenhouse effect, but also how atmospheric concentrations of this gas actually trail rises in global temperatures instead of lead such increases as Gore and his minions depict.
Beyond this, "The Other Side" showed how Gore and others first got involved in this movement, and what led to the creation of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change as a largely political body.
From there, the program debunked the many hysterical climate change claims made by such folks including the eminent flooding of American cities and extinction of polar bears.
Lastly, "The Other Side" addressed how climate data is being manipulated by U.S. agencies in order to exaggerate historical temperatures.
In the end, this is one of the finest television documentaries yet produced concerning this issue, and KUSI is to be commended for airing it.
The onus is now on other networks to either air this program for their viewers -- with KUSI's approval of course -- or create shows of their own that provide the public with vital information for them to make an educated decision about one of the most important subjects of our time.
Will the mainstream media reciprocate and finally share all the facts of this matter with the citizenry?
Stay tuned.

NASA Manipulation
Fri, 01/15/2010 - 13:37 ET by slickwillie2001Background on some of Coleman's material:
NASA Caught in Climate Data Manipulation: http://www.spaceref.com
"Climate researchers have discovered that NASA researchers improperly manipulated data in order to claim 2005 as 'THE WARMEST YEAR ON RECORD.' KUSI-TV meteorologist, Weather Channel founder, and iconic weatherman John Coleman will present these findings in a one-hour special airing on KUSI-TV on Jan.14 at 9 p.m."

John Coleman at one time
Fri, 01/15/2010 - 14:13 ET by jkwtradingJohn Coleman at one time was the best weatherman in Chicago...witty, funny and accurate..
His hey day was the 70's to early 80's and was extremely popular. I always wondered where he went.
We've got him!
Fri, 01/15/2010 - 14:25 ET by ChaitealoverAfter leaving the Weather Channel, John retired for a while. He came back to the airwaves here in San Diego several years ago, and has been a pleasure to watch. He's intelligent and witty, a rare combination.
We have another guy here that's totally "green." He's also totally sanctimonious and has no sense of humor. I usually turn him off [not being content to just tell the weather, he switched channels and now tells us repeatedly how to live our lives].

Coleman made a term well
Fri, 01/15/2010 - 14:41 ET by jkwtradingColeman made a term well known in his stint in Chicago called the "boonies" or any place outside of the warming area of Lake Michigan.. That term sticks today for any and all other types of reasons now.
Towns once in the "boonies" are now quite populated..
He sure has aged though..

Haven't we all :-)
I think he still uses the term here. I haven't really paid attention because it's a term I've known for what seems like forever and wouldn't particularly have noticed being used [I remember hearing it as I grew up on NY's Long Island]. He may have created it, then others took it far & wide.

Fri, 01/15/2010 - 14:39 ET by BlondeGolly, gee, and I was all happy Global Warming finally returned today, it is a soothing 77 and the heat is off!!!
I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for the MsM to take up the issue, however. That would be bad, very bad, for the Vain Obama.
I hope he fails, too.

Much to the chagrin of the Goracle, independent-thinking Americans aren't holding their collective breath.

...though in actuality, you should always question science and discard the debunked. Always questioning the unknown and improving the understanding of the known.

TWC becoming unwatchable
Fri, 01/15/2010 - 19:47 ET by nkviking75TWC is getting less and less watchable all the time now that NBC Universal has its grubby hands on it. More and more programs, less and less forecasts. Greeny weeny features. A morning show with that paragon of serious weather journalism, Al Roker. The formerly-all-business network even had one of their meteorologists proposed to on air recently. Let's hope NBC will have to sell it to someone who really cares about weather.

parody
Fri, 01/15/2010 - 20:27 ET by jon_torlinIt's pretty much a parody of what it used to be. TWC is now TPC, The Parody Channel.
I don't watch it anymore either except on the 8s except now half the time, the "Local on the 8s" don't even show up except at the bottom of the hour or at the top of the hour. They spent some money on some cool stuff like those huge HUGE monitors and some other set re-design, but even that's not enough to get me to want to watch it.
Put simply, you can dress it up all you want, but if the content sucks, you got a lemon.
