Rachel Maddow on Friday apologized for her previous day's Constitution Preamble gaffe by using "Schoolhouse Rock" to educate her viewers.

As NewsBusters reported, Maddow on Thursday ridiculed House minority leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) for claiming during that day's "House Call" rally the historic phrase "We hold these truths to be self-evident" came from the Preamble to the Constitution.

In so doing, Maddow gaffed herself by claiming there isn't a Preamble to the Constitution.

Maybe after reading our article on the subject the MSNBC host felt the need to make a correction (video embedded below the fold with partial transcript, h/t Jeff Poor):

RACHEL MADDOW, HOST: And finally to our department of corrections. On last night's show I made fun of who House minority leader John Boehner because at yesterday's whites of their eyes Michele Bachmann-led anti-healthcare reform rally on the Capitol steps, he waggled a copy of the Constitution at the crowd, bragged that he was standing with the Founding Fathers and then said he was quoting the Preamble to the Constitution while he actually quoted from the Declaration of Independence. Being myself constitutionally incapable of leaving well enough alone, I then excitedly exclaimed not that he wasn't reading from the Preamble to the Constitution but that there wasn't a Preamble to the Constitution at all, which of course is total nonsense and which I'm very sorry to have said. However, it does also give me the opportunity to do penance to the Preamble by -- you know what's coming, don't you? Get up, get out of your chair and let me not only apologize to the Preamble but join us all together now in civics geek karaoke to "The Schoolhouse Rock" version to the Preamble. Go, go, go, go! [...]

♪♪ America. Never fun to have to correct a mistake but this one was close to fun. Thank you, Schoolhouse Rock. I'm very sorry.

Well, at least she showed some character and admitted her mistake -- which puts her in a whole different league than her cowardly colleague Keith Olbermann who almost never issues a correction or offers an apology for his frequent gaffes.

Liberalism and Stupidity

When liberals label overachievers such as Sarah Palin or GWB or Reagan or Gingrich as stupid, we on the Right recognize it for what it is... namely, hyperbole.

But when a libero-socialist steps in it with both feet and reveals her bona fide stupidity, it leaves absolutely no room for doubt.

The fact is, that you cannot apologize for being stupid, just as it is meaningless to apologize for being white or black; you just are- and that's it.

Oh, that's good,

Oh, that's good, xray.  Really good.  Straight shot to the heart!

I'm grinnin like a horse eating briars!

Why are you all...

Why are you all calling this 14-year-old boy 'she'?  Most teenage boys would be insulted.

TERM LIMITS FOR ALL ELECTED OFFICIALS.

And, yes, I am shouting.

Teleprompter reader

Just like Obama she is a teleprompter reader. I have watched snippets of her show and read about her here. She probably does not have any input on the shows content, because she is too ignorant to have any. You can't  maintain  ratings by going on tv everyday and saying George Bush sucks. Even the left wing loons that watch her tire of this. After all they have her script memorized. When you go off script, this is what happens.

Educated?

Maddow's "gaffe" is another demonstration of the left's willingness to assign an inflated level of intelligence and education to their people. Clinton and Obama are two others with the phony reputation of being "cerebral". They both had the modern version of an Ivy League education. Clinton went to Yale when there were no grades, just pass or fail, and Obama went to Harvard on Affirmative Action. I've never heard either of them say anything remotely "intellectual". I seriously doubt Obama has ever read a book cover to cover. Too busy in the gym or on the golf course. Sad.

NEVER,NEVER trust a "liberal"

I bet she stole the idea to

I bet she stole the idea to play Schoolhouse Rock from the NB member who mentioned it.

Probably. If she had seen

Probably.

If she had seen the re-wording of Schoolhouse rock some of us did a few months ago, she might have mistakenly used that.

Come to think of it, that would have been funny.

Remember when there used to be only 3 channels and you had to get up to change the channel? Of course, as close as we sat on saturday mornings, that was not a problem.

We can sing the preamble fer heaven's sake. Schoolhouse Rock.

Her version of the preamble

We the Democrats of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union for only us and no other party, establish Justice for the political elite, insure our phony jobs, provide for the common party defense promote the general Welfare state, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our minorities and illegal’s , do and
establish this Constitution for the Democrats of America.

Rachel Maddow has no class.

What?  She apologizes and "does penance" to the Preamble?

If she had any class at all, she would have apologized to John Boehner directly.  But no.  When you are a low class slob like her, it's almost impossible to muster up enough decency to fit into a pin prick.  And still, she couldn't resist serving up even more of her snide and holier-than-thou schtick at just the moment when she had no right to do so.  That kind of stuff rubs me the wrong way.

And one other thing:  The soft and moist smacking sounds she makes while talking make me retch.

Did Rachel shave her chest

Did Rachel shave her chest or is that some kind of weird tan-line?

You can't fix stupid

Wasn't it Ron White who said "You can't fix stupid." ?  I think

that quote would apply to Madcow.

Hey I've been wrong before..

Plenty of times actually, but then hopefully I don't make a statement in any conversation with that little elitist "I'm so much better and smarter than you" smirk that all the talking heads on MSNBC must practice in front of their mirrors every day.  If Glenn Beck or Bill O'Reilly made the same mistake it would be discussed in 47 different stories on medial matters and Huffington Post.  If Noel had not printed it today we would have never known as very few Conservatives can stomach over 5 minutes of Keith or Rachel.

Stay Free!!!

Weiner

In the same segment where she made an idiot of herself here she then had on Representative Weiner. She proceeeded to draw attention to and make fun of his name. He laughed it off but I find it funny that Maddow would be drawn to the name "Weiner".

Re Weiner's Name

...his wife's name is Anita.
