Video: 100 Years of Headlines About Catastrophic Climate Change

Photo of Noel Sheppard.

A YouTuber has created a fabulous video of 100 years of press headlines involving hysterical claims of catastrophic climate change (h/t Tom Nelson):

How absolutely delicious!

Readers are encouraged to review a previous NewsBusters report "150 Years of Global Warming and Cooling at the New York Times."

Wow

Cool, a YouTube video to heat up the debate. ;)

I could only Watch Half

The editing job on this video was unbearable.  The information is fantastic but the constant zooming of partial sentences is too slow to read properly.

I have put up a new version of this video on you tube. The text is clearer with no zooming and it is also narrated

Marxist culture change the REAL threat

It is SO hard to believe that a political party that has the worst human rights record in U.S. history, that just stole $1 trillion from taxpayers before the election and that promote the Big Lie about global warming still got elected to the majority.

Clearly the greatest danger are the global goobers who have a 99% emotional attachment to these lying hatemongers. (And, yes, I mean the Marxist Party of America, formerly the Democrats, formerly the Ku Klux Klan, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Confederacy.)

The voting age should be returned to 21! That should help

along with an 'age-adjustment' to make that 31 since our young people are so intent on remaining 'young' and irresponsible these days.

My guess is that if we restricted the voters to those gainfully employed or retired, that also might help.

It is absolutely mind-boggling to realize our votes were cancelled by either some young college kid who didn't even know what Obama stood for (interviews using McCain stances) or some person who just knew he was best.  I know McCain wasn't the best the Republican Party could come up with, but this guy just pulled the wool over everyone's eyes.  What a four years we have before us!

I think this is needed but the video is horrible.  I'm excited to see this type of thing be put together but this video bored me to death and I couldn't even watch the whole thing before having to stop it.

I have one of those fancy portable puters, only 4 weeks old, and I couldn't read most of it. It is a good idea, but hard to read. I wish they had of went in order, put some more info in, like the old NB post Noel did, and made it easier to read. It is a great idea. Where's PT when you need him? I'll bet he could make a great video with all of his info gathered. A new project for him, perhaps?

Good stuff. I still say you should make a video or series of them on all the info you have.

I broke down and replaced my 8 year old creaking system Monday. I'm still moving in. It's easier to read if you maximize it to fill screen. (Lower right icon) But it still isn't real sharp.

This reminded me a of a line said on an MST3k episode once:

"Remember this is a MOTION picture"

In other words, the video creator should have bothered to get actual pictures of the headlines or articles cited instead of just quoting them with computer text. Seeing the actual headlines/articles would be more effective. Still, there's some good information here, it just needs to be spread more effectively.

One more to add to the mix

1975 Newsweek article on global cooling. Complete with all the scare tactics we're so use to.

But they (meteorologists) are almost unanimous in the view that the trend will reduce agriculture productivity for the rest of the century.

Yikes

Great information, but I agree the delivery method almost hurts the information being delivered.

Much easier to digest and view if the lines would stop zooming and the mood music would be less moody. Nice clean text. Full sentances, no gratuitous PowerPoint zooming and less drama would help this message a great deal. Would show it for the plain simple truth it is.

What a great NB report, NS! The only thing missing is a final

entry from Al Gore - 'the debate is over - the earth has a fever and that is it - I have spoken!'

If the New York Times has a 150-year RECORD of ups and downs and hot and cold - how on earth can any reasonably intelligent person believe 'the debate is over'????????????

This reasonably intelligent person believes Al Gore is laughing all the way to the bank!  I don't think he will ever accept an Obama appointment - he'd have some mighty big questions to answer and he doesn't want to do anything to interrupt his gravy train.

Ditto other comments

There's some good substance here, but I wouldn't link to this mess. It bespeaks incompetence and carelessness, IMO. Sorry.

PBS NOW - Sea Change

Last night I watched, changed channels in anger, watched again, probably the worse example of Global Warming lies.

To prove Global Warming, they melted ice on a burner. Once the ice was gone, the water temperature rose. Astounding! This settles it! ::sigh::
