Drudge reported Tuesday morning that billionaire television mogul Oprah Winfrey is "offering to 'produce' the half-hour Barack Obama advertisement set to air on Oct. 29...The Daytime TV dynamo has even offered up her studio space in Chicago."
If this is true, wouldn't it go counter to the excuse Oprah gave on September 5 when she announced that she would not have Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin on her show until after Election Day?
As NewsBusters reported at the time:
According to ABCNews.com, in an article stunningly titled, "Is Oprah Biased? Host Won't Interview Palin," such appears to be the case (photo courtesy Getty Images/AP):
"At the beginning of the presidential campaign, when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates," wrote Winfrey.
"I agree that Sarah Palin would be a fantastic interview, and I would love to have her on after the campaign is over," she added.
Well, Oprah, if you decided "[a]t the beginning of the presidential campaign" to not use your show "as a platform for any of the candidates," wouldn't offering your studio to Obama go against this promise?
It should be interesting to watch how Winfrey and her media minions explain this obvious hypocrisy if indeed Obama does use her studio for his October 29 infomercial.

October 21, 2008 - 11:18 ET by KC MulvilleOprah will claim that she isn't using the actual airtime during the Oprah Winfrey show to promote Obama.

October 21, 2008 - 14:51 ET by RESTLESS 1You wouldn't be lumping all conservatives in with the sentiments above would you?
You do realize that the real racists are liberals. You don't see conservatives attempting to buy minority votes with giveaways and welfare. That would be your side. You don't see conservatives supporting the elimination of minority children in the womb. That would be your side.
As conservatives, who are generally against the welfare state and mindset, we are the ones that want to see success from everyone. Democrats need their voting base dependent on them.

NBers
October 21, 2008 - 21:52 ET by Noel SheppardNBers,
Isn't this great? Here's a holier-than-thou, America-hating ne'er do well that likely has despised Colin Powell since the day he appeared in front of the UN in 2002 talking about Saddam's WMD. This disgusting thing, despite what's gone on in Iraq since the surge began in early 2007, wants America out immediately, and probably blames Powell for the deaths of all the fallen in that nation be they American or Iraqi.
Yet, because Powell endorsed his candidate, it's all okay. No matter how many of his fellow citizens were killed in a war he didn't support and possibly walked in protest against -- one clearly tied to Powell, by the way!!! -- he doesn't care because the object of his former disaffection is now backing the Messiah.
Try to imagine the lack of integrity and character required to sell your principles so cheaply, and do so at a public forum such as this. As you ponder, consider that he and his ilk actually think themselves above you. Imagine that.
Frankly, I've found things crawling under rocks in my backyard I respected more. Some of them weren't even moving.
This isn't a beautiful person. This is one of the most disgusting things I've come across on the Internet since I first logged on well over a decade ago, and it saddens me deeply that it's entitled to vote alongside those in our country that actually have principles they refuse to sell, as well as those that have risked their lives so that he can have that privilege.
The American Dream is collapsing before our eyes, my fellow countrymen, and it's because of sickening creatures like this.
