When Maher calls his Rule 5 "Snide and Prejudice," that actually is fairly descriptive--of his own attitude in disparaging Republicans for not being as smart as Obama.

There's also IMHO a fair amount of prejudice and posturing in Maher's voting for the underwhelmingly-'experienced' black guy over the old maverick so that he can pat himself on the back for how civic-minded, unbigoted, progressive, etc., etc. Maher is being with his vote.

I was talking to my dad who is not a news junkie. He rattled off all the Palin untruths and smears. I asked him where he got his info......NEWSDAY/USA TODAY!!!!!!

You know...?  I had a great job for 15 years with a media production company. I worked closely with Human Resources and I had no idea how many men we had hired with "Richard" or "Dick" as their first names. It was sort of confusing at first.... but it didn't take me too long to get used to most of the men there having the same first name. You could say that I'm someone who knows a "Dick" when I see one!

i just don't get it. some of my left leaning friends, ( or as i like to call them, ill), think that maher is some type of intellectual, which couldn't be further than the truth.  i have watched his hbo show a couple of times, one time with that dunce gore vidal, and  i couldn't believe the stupidity i was hearing.  they deal in theory, while we deal in reality.

If there were true justice in the world, Maher and Olbermann would be forced to participate in a wet T-shirt int-the-mud cat fight on national TV, sans pants and sans shorts. Such a contest would be commensurate with their current contributions to American culture, to wit, none. I can think of no more despicable pair of people in the U.S. broadcast media than these two oafs.

If you know a conservative who has HBO, tell them about this and ask them to cancel and let HBO know why.

Media will show anything, as long as they think it is causing them to gain viewers. Once they lose viewers, they will take a second look.

Think about it: Do you really want to pay Maher's salary, just so you can watch old movies that have been out on DVD for six months? Do you?
