Fortunately, most people will likely be watching the Giants-Packers game Sunday evening, and will therefore miss the one-sided hysteria.
However, for those that mysteriously don't switch channels after the Chargers-Patriots game, CBS will offer a special about global warming this Sunday instead of "60 Minutes."
How marvelous.
The CBS News website hysterically described this installment of "The Age of Warming":
Nowhere is the evidence of global warming as striking than near the earth's poles. CBS News correspondent Scott Pelley's report brings him to the top and the bottom of the world, where scientists point out the effects of the warming trend. He also speaks to NASA's top scientist studying climate, who says the Bush administration has restricted what he can say about global warming.
This teaser raises many important questions. For instance, will even one of the over 400 scientists that don't believe man is responsible for global warming be interviewed by Pelley? Or, will he exclusively talk to folks that are involved in advancing this yet unproven theory?
Will any of the scientific studies concerning historical ice levels in the Arctic and the Antarctic be sited, or just the satellite data for the past thirty years?
Assuming the top NASA scientist Pelley will be speaking to is the controversial head of the Goddard Institute for Space Studies James Hansen, will he be asked about his connection to George Soros? Or that the GISS predicted an ice age back in 1971? Or that Hansen's organization made a huge error in calculating temperatures this decade that was uncovered by Climate Audit's Stephen McIntyre?
Speaking of McIntyre, might Pelley ask Hansen about Michael Mann's "Hockey Stick" model which forms the basis of most anthropogenic global warming theories, but has been totally discredited?
Or how about all those weather stations overseen by Hansen's organization that don't meet federal guidelines? Might Pelley bring this up on Sunday, and get the GISS director's view on the subject?
And when Pelley speaks to Hansen about the Bush administration supposedly restricting what he can say about global warming, will Pelley mention the RealClimate website and blog that Hansen is involved with? Or reference all of the articles that Hansen has written concerning this subject while he was supposedly being silenced by the White House?
Finally, will Pelley ask Hansen about his connection to Al Gore, and how the Nobel Laureate's film has been found by a British court to be filled with scientific errors?
Or, will this installment be exclusively filled with one-sided information on this controversial subject with not one shred of balance for the viewer?
Yes, sadly, these were all rhetorical questions.

The press seems to be assiduously avoiding any stories about it being cold, anywhere on the planet. I wonder if they have someone on weather watch, so they can bring up the one place that's warmer, than normal, on any given day!

In just two bills, the people or Washington would be expected to pay over $35 billion dollars in increased taxes over the next ten years. That works out to be over $5400 per man, woman, and child - $2100+ per year for a family of four.
The government will have all the money and the people will be able to subsist only at the pleasure of the government.
Right now, it looks as if the bills are doa, but the stupid politicians will keep trying. Don't know where the other politicians are.

and the NFL had better get the point out to the stations that it will
not allow these blatant attacks on it's programming nor it's fans.
Because if the NFL doesn't get it figured out, they are going to
have the same problem the NBA has with gangstas ruining that game. Fans
watch sports to get away from all the nonsense, but liberals are
attacking fans in mocking them like some dolts who are mind numbed
robots.........in essence that is what these liberal programmers all
think. "Hey show Buford a beer and girl and he buys it.......so Buford
can be shown global warming propaganda and buy that too".
The only problem Mr. Shep is Buford is you, a successful, brilliant
and patriotic American, but you and all football fans are "Bufords" to
the liberals and this must stop and the NFL must be complained to
vigorously about it to shut this down.
Fox figured it out. They launch the Terminator le Femme and it is a
great kick butt show that appeals to basic good and evil. The problem
is NBC and CBS are painting football fans as evil.
This has to stop.
PS. I apologize for the profanity, but Olberman and Collinsworth are
asses and this is not complaining but bitching going on in it's purest
form........and as Rush Limbaugh always states, "If you are seeing
something and upset about it, millions of others are too".

If he actually had a pair, Pelley would go back in July when temps at McMurdo bottom out around 30 below. Of course, the Antarctic interior is much colder. Russia's Vostok station has never recorded a temperature above zero and occasionally drops to 100 degrees below zero.
Junkscience had a link yesterday to a Danish news article about the brutal winter in Greenland. The article mentioned Ilulissat, the town visited by Barbara Boxer, Nancy Pelosi and other wack jobs in Congress who want to kill our economy with global warming taxes.
Naturally, they were there durning Greenland's summer. Now might be a good time for a return trip. The articles says temperatures have dropped so drastically that the water has frozen over for the first time in a decade.
Do you think the mainstream media has reported this?

Here where I live, this morning's low was -15. That's 18 degrees below normal. I didn't hear the high today, but at most we made it to 0. A good chunk of the country is freezing with us.

And let me just say, "Oh...my....God." They are really pushing this hard. They haven't figured out that all the old arguments that Gore and his ilk have been throwing around have already been disproved. Granted the show is from 2006 but still. Am I the only one that is so tired of this crap?
They just stated that due to the unstable climate the death toll could be in the Billions. Yes that's with a "B". The show is about the 7 deadliest threats to the earth. Yet, they spent half of the hour long show on global warming. Their argument is that global warming is the only one that we can actually do anything about... as compared to being hit by meteors, etc.
Then an ironic quote from the last few minutes of the show..."We have the intellect to save ourselves from meteors, but we don't have the intellect to save ourselves from ourselves." They've even sunk as low as to use kids to try to get their message across... Of course, Gore was a central focus in this show...
