NY Congressman: Whoopi Goldberg Is ‘Absolutely Insane’

Photo of Noel Sheppard.

As NewsBuster Justin McCarthy reported Monday, "View" co-host Whoopi Goldberg, who grew up during the "Jim Crow" era, actually said that America is "not as free as it was when [she] was a kid."

A few hours after this aired, Congressman Peter King (R) of New York was Steve Malzberg's guest on WOR radio.

Malzberg read Whoopi's comments to King, who responded by first saying, "They are absolutely insane these people," and then explained how they "reflect that hardcore base which is driving the Democratic Party, and which is causing otherwise fairly responsible politicians in the Democratic Party to do really wrong things, and to act totally irresponsibly" (audio available here with relevant section beginning at 8:30, partial transcript follows):

They are absolutely insane these people. They are so consumed by their hatred of George Bush which, by the way, I cannot begin to understand. I can see how some people may disagree with his policies. But this hatred they have, and to say things like this. This is why they lose all credibility. You know, Rosie O'Donnell basically saying that George Bush was responsible for the World Trade Center being blown up, and statements from Whoopie Goldberg, it's really. It shows that you're up against, that these are not just fringe characters on the left. They do reflect that hardcore base which is driving the Democratic Party, and which is causing otherwise fairly responsible politicians in the Democratic Party to do really wrong things, and to act totally irresponsibly.

Nicely said, Congressman.

Peter King (R)

Wow it looks like Peter King (R) has some BIG BRASS ones

Just Honest

Peter King has been m Congressman for years and he is one elected official that cannot be "bought." He has always spoke his mind and has truly represented his district - not his interests - and sometimes in conflict with his political party (rarely).

He has a way of saying what we would for diffierent situations including this. My wife saw that segment, told me about it, and actually said she is convinced that Whoopi is disturbed or stupid.

She's disturbed, stupid and

She's disturbed, stupid and of mediocre talent; a perfect fit for The Skew.

mattm, Hey, she has an

mattm,

Hey, she has an Oscar to prove she has talent (sarcasm on) :)

It is simply impossible...

...For the Looney Left to understand how a normal, average, Ivy-League graduate and fighter pilot could be the President... And their surrogates are not.

"It MUST be a plot", they squeal. "Someone cheated, stole, lied, complicity, duplicity, conspiracy, conspiracy, conspiracy!"

They are so much more caring, sensitive, intelligent and 'right' it unnerves them that they are not sought after, courted and regarded as demigods and leaders by divine right. That they are not goes against the very grain of the universe and must be the result of dark forces.

Result? Some really average intellects squawking ridiculous talking points and making baseless charges, hysterical predictions and hate-filled diatribes. All for our amusement.

And I think it's going to get worse for them.

Progresssive's delusion

The problem with Progressives is they believe their own BS and when reality strikes they go into deep denial.  The more it happens the deeper they go, until they become completely delusional.

Facts become lies and their halluciations become truth.

Whoopie-trek

Why, oh why, does America sit slack jawed when people like this utter nonsense and then not challenge it? What a bunch of babbling BS. I can't blame the others on the stage. They're as empty headed as she is. Thanks goodness for Congressman King.

I still say "Prove it!" Show me the phone tap on your phone Whoopie. Once again she joins the flock of dim wits ranting about something by applying the wrong rule set. FISA spying is not any way the same as police spying. The cops have to get a court order for criminal investigation. The Commander In Chief needs no (or limited) permission to act against foreign agents - especially those whom we are at war with. Duh!

He's exactly right - it's no longer the fringe - it's the base

The fringe Hollywood kook element has taken over and become the base and the source of power in the Dem party. Republicans need to do a montage of all these redicoulous statements contrasted to their praise for Castro and Chavez.
I just saw a great film (on DVD)called Journey from the Fall. It's a vietnameze film about the struggle that the South vietnameze people went through. I highly recommend it. It's about time someone did a film giving their side of the story. It's a little slow for people not used to Foreign and independent films, but it's a touching story and well worth the effort.
One of the most Ironic things in the film is at their brutal "Re-education camps" the communists had a sign that said something like FREEDOM IS PRECIOUS. Freedom to liberals means having things their way with no opposition or questioning. They think Castro and Chavez are better leaders than Bush. The whole "Re-education" concept is exactly what they try to do in the schools here.

Insane

Yes, insane

Whoopi Goldberg was born in

Whoopi Goldberg was born in 1955. That means when she was five or six years old, she couldn't ride anywhere but in the back of the bus.

Does she really think she is less free now?

Rep. King is right...absolutely insane. And they are increasingly the face ("we bought it, we own it, and we're going to take it back!) of the Democratic party.

Ha! Looks like this is

Ha! Looks like this is Whoopie's "fire can't melt steel" moment.

Which kook is on deck?... Moooonbatter up!

"There are two types of people in this country; those who provide freedom and those who enjoy it." MM says...

I don't know who's on deck,

I don't know who's on deck, but  Joy Behar will be batting "clean-up."

In a way I could agree. . .

Maybe not for the same reasons but the statement may well be true. Thomas Sowell has written about how back then forced integration had not kicked in and attitudes back then were more like "To get ahead you have to work harder." and not "To get ahead you need to claim victimhood."

I think I need to expand on that. This is more about social pressure and not so much legal pressure.

Now if you consider that since those days have been the wildly unsuccessful war on drugs, medicare, and war on poverty (all of which take away our economic freedoms by taxing more money to be given away to less productive uses), not to mention many liberal laws to remove individual practice of religion in schools, gun control, and loss of property rights (Kelo) we all have less freedom with African Americans in balance loosing too. And that my friends is a run-on sentance.

King is right

King is right again!

Summed it up rather well.

BT,This is the kind of

BT,

This is the kind of thing that happens when actors go off-script. They're determined to show everyone that they do have a brain and then fail miserably to do so, almost every time.

Goldberg is not insane. She

Goldberg is not insane. She is also, not funny.

She is crude, vulgar and ignorant.
