It appears the good folks at HBO must have been extremely concerned that "Real Time" host Bill Maher was going to lose many of his viewers as a result of his tossing 9/11 truthers from the audience two weeks ago.
After all, Maher even admitted at the opening of the discussion segment of Friday's program, albeit almost apologetically, "I'm not going to pretend that we have ideological balance on this panel."
Ideological balance? Are you kidding?
Here were Maher's attendees this fine Friday evening in no specific order:
As it turned out, not only were all three of the panel members far to the left politically, but also one of Maher's other special guests was Jeremy Scahill, a correspondent for the practically socialist publication the Nation.
Honestly, Bill, could you be any more obvious about your desire to reconnect with your liberal audience?
Yet, even more shameful was the opening segment after the monologue when Maher invited Valerie Plame and Joe Wilson to once again tell their side of the now infamous story whilst never mentioning the person that actually admitted leaking the name of the so-called covert CIA operative in question.
Here's a hint, Bill: Dick Armitage. Ever heard the name? Or, was that irrelevant this evening as you were so obviously trying to make amends with folks on the far left you had offended by tossing their brethren from the audience two weeks back?
Maybe more importantly, although the civil suit the Wilsons filed against prominent members of the Bush administration was addressed, Maher didn't feel the need to mention that the case had been dismissed.
Really, Bill, if this is what you need to do to curry favor with your viewers, would you please drop the pretense that you're at all impartial and try to not be so obvious about it?
It's really offensive to those who remember when you actually had a soul as well as something of value to say.

What a waste of our oxygen
November 3, 2007 - 04:11 ET by Captain RepusMaher reminds me on someone who misses his mother's breast feeding so much he needs to surround himself with like-minded morons to suck ego-nourishment from. I look forward to the day he gets busted cruising Sunset Blvd with a nice big stash of hash.
Is it just me or did he appear aroused when he mentioned the Republicans who were busted for homosexual behavior. Maybe just the excitement of sitting with Marcos.
Cheap politics
November 3, 2007 - 04:10 ET by KC MulvilleThe purpose of politics is to resolve our common problems. You can change votes with sharper analysis of social problems, or smarter approaches. But that’s hard; you have to be creative, intelligent, and patient. You constantly have to offer the voters something new. The media isn’t creative, intelligent, or patient, so they slide past real issues. Lucky for the media, it’s easy to cheat the process.
The first step is to emotionalize everything. Democrats/liberals care, but Republicans/conservatives don’t. What matters to the media is how the perspective feel.
The second step is to hammer the candidates themselves. Cheap media look for personal flaws they can exploit and ridicule. Forget issues.
Maher’s show is cheap. Unfortunately, cheap shows are more common than mature shows these days. When Valerie Plame and Joe Wilson make the rounds, at each round they tell the same story. Each show invites the Plames to retell the same story, not to challenge it. That reveals how many cheap shows there are! Do they ever tell you anything new? If you want to spot the cheap shows, find out where the Plames (or Clintons, etc.) are willing to appear.
And that raises the philosophical question – if you already know what’s going to happen on the show, why bother watching it?
Maybe they should call
November 3, 2007 - 09:05 ET by motherbeltMaybe they should call Maher's show "Real Time: The View, with the F word" Apparently the only difference is that the members of the panel change.
Noel... You said it all.

I AM NOT BOTHERED BY THIS...
November 3, 2007 - 14:54 ET by danybhoyI'm really not much of a Bill Maher fan, however he is maybe the most honest of the far left media figures. Think about it, people like BathTubBoy, Mathews, Abrams, Couric, & the like are leftists who blantetly deny their bias. Bill Maher does'nt hide it, he has the nerve to call out "9/11 Truthers", many on the rational left are only now begining to see how dangorous they are. Code Pinko, Move-On, Kos, & other MAJOR leftist groups are also getting on the radar of libs who care about America as well. The far left kooks, hippies, progressive/socialist/marxist types, & the eco-leftists need to be brought under control before they do real damage.
Bill Maher would be wise to keep a healthy distance from some of these leftist kooks, they may bring him down with them.

November 3, 2007 - 19:06 ET by dahliatraversIt's not enough that he's honest if he's falling for things like global warming and the Plame Game. You can honestly believe that two plus two equals five. But being honest won't make you right.
As someone said on another thread, Maher used to be smart and witty. I think he's letting BDS push out the analytic part of his brain. Doing your own research and coming to your own conclusions about these matters doesn't automatically make you a close friend of George Bush (with whom some of us have our own issues *cough*illegalimmigration*cough*).
Bill Maher just 5 questions
November 3, 2007 - 21:33 ET by Lame CherryBill Maher, I have 5 questions for you:
1. Valerie Plame claims she is just some innocent, but why does a CIA operative send her husband "to disprove" Saddam purchasing Niger yellow cake when Saddam according to the New York Times had tons of yellow cake in Iraq?
2. American forces after Iraq was liberated according to MSM sources found 1.77 tons of weapons grade uranium (that means bombs can be made from this) and was flown out to White Sands, but the uramium traces to Niger, so what is the Niger Saddam connection?
3. This same Niger based weapons grade uranium is found to be French refined, so what is the Niger, French and Saddam connection?
4. Bill Clinton stopped a CIA operation to topple Saddam. Soon after Saddam in secret started shipping skimmed crude oil into Syria and the UN Food for Oil program money laundering operation started pouring in billions to Europe for uranium refinement with money moved by Marc Rich for the globalist banking cartels for which Bill Clinton pardoned Marc Rich.
Billions of these funds ended up in UN bribes, so how much ended up in Bill Clinton's Swiss bank accounts for which Plame and Wilson were dispatched to cover all of this up?
5. Mr. Maher, do you really believe Valerie Plame was not working for the Clinton's to cover up all this Saddam bribery over uranium and European weapons and that she was not a willing stooge now compensated by being "outed" by Deep Throat Armitage to a man he hated in Robert Novak, so that the Plame red herring would bring the impeachment of George Bush........all so this nuclear bomb black market being run by world liberals would not be brought to light?
Mr. Maher, stop being a patsy and a fool. Research every one of those questions I put together and pieced together from numerous public sources to expose the bigger than Watergate story I exclusively have been writing about and no one in not even Michele Malkin will touch it.
Answer the questions Mr. Maher.

LC... As usual you gave
November 3, 2007 - 23:03 ET by bigtimerLC...
As usual you gave me a lot to think about when it comes to the Clinton involvement here....I know they or Joe Wilson anyway worked for Kerry who let him go just to make it look good in the msm...so did Joe and Val win all the way around since I have read about his French Connections? This is also something filled with pretty good info from Sweetness and Light.
I know you don't answer anyone, but it would be nice once in awhile....lol.
Btw...you say you have been exclusively writing about that no one else will touch, well let us know, I would love to read it that is for sure...or PM me?
If only Maher's intellect
November 3, 2007 - 21:54 ET by marvlIf only Maher's intellect was as impressive as his nose. Then the world might have a stunning theoretical physicist instead of a forgettable hack of a comic.
