Hannity's Inauguration 'Media Mash' with MRC's Tim Graham

  • Bookmark and Share

Sean Hannity debuted his “Media Mash” segment Friday night on his FNC show with NewsBusters Senior Editor Tim Graham as the guest expert to comment on a series of clips, most familiar to NB readers, of the most sycophantic inaugural coverage. Under the “Morning Bias” heading, Hannity ran a bunch of sappy pro-Obama clips from Tuesday coverage, all of which NewsBusters has showcased:
ABC Enthuses Over 'New Face' of Obama; 'Driven by an Audacity to Hope'
ABC Touts Messages From Kids to Obama: Stop the Wars! Save the Earth!
CBS’s Smith: Obama Inauguration a ‘Sacred Event’
ABC: 'National Pride' Made Cold Feel Warmer as Seagulls 'Awed'

Like something you would see in North Korea....

You got that right Tim.

Actually I think it will be more like George Orwell's 1984.

Double plus ungood.

Because with a name like Obama... you know it has to be good.

I don't like the new

I don't like the new "Hannity" show. It's over-the-top and childish, IMO. Sorry, Tim. The Media Mash segment made some valid points, but the overall tenor of the program diminishes the impact. It sort of reminds me of "The View".

She said

Snootily. :-O

In order to be pro-choice, one must first be born. Ah, the irony.

What's your deal, chooser?

What's your deal, chooser? Again you react like an immature lib by
simply throwing out a personal attack because someone expresses an
honest criticism from an objective point of view. We are no better than
the opposition if we insist upon idolizing the likes of Sean Hannity or
any other conservative mouthpiece without reservation.

Do you have an opinion about the subject or do you prefer to throw spitballs?

Queen Mum

Hiked her Pekinese a little higher under her arm and leaned over the balcony railing to scold the noisy rabble below.

(you should've never picked on sheryl, she's a gentle soul who's never posted anything remotely vulgar. Ask anyone. Ask bigtimer.

You owe sheryl an apology for comparing her to HuffPo. If you do it, I'll apologise and leave you alone.)

In order to be pro-choice, one must first be born. Ah, the irony.

I see you prefer spitballs, chooser.

Try to expand your thinking a bit. My criticism of Sweet Sheryl had nothing to do with vulgarity, but with the penchant for those at sites such as HuffPo to post knee-jerk criticisms of anything right of Nancy Pelosi. When N.B. members nitpick anything and everything that comes from the left, we lose credibility. No apology is owed and no apology is forthcoming. If you feel that my comments are out of line, tell it to the management. And if sheryl has a beef with me, she can deal with me personally via p.m. Most of us are grown-ups here. This isn't the "Oprah Winfrey Show".

P.S. Sorry, N.B.'s. I've been away for awhile and am having a hard time distinguishing the trolls from the serious participants.

Nit-picking?

What was sheryl nit-picking?
Her post that you responded too was a simple statement of her opinion, which was mild and non-offensive. NOYB.
Go scold someone for using open vulgarities and compare THEM to HuffPo.
Have you asked any long time regulars about sheryl? You were WAY off base to 'scold' her and you can take your snooty remarks and go hang with Anne Boleyn.
If ANYONE was nit-picking that day, it was you.

So 'she said snootily' is a spitball, huh?
You take yourself WAY too seriously, Queenie.

In order to be pro-choice, one must first be born. Ah, the irony.

cl...

I know nothig about what you are referring to when it comes to QM and sheryl....

But as to long-time regulars....Queen has been here as long as I have...and that has been a long time.

BT

Yeah, I checked her profile before I responded to her.
Sheryl said she felt sorry for Obama when she looks at Michelle and QM responded by comparing sheryl to the posters at HuffPo.
SERIOUSLY misplaced criticism considering what MANY others have said about Michelle.
You're buddies with sheryl, you've talked to her many times, is she in any way reminiscent of HuffPo fare?

In order to be pro-choice, one must first be born. Ah, the irony.

cl...

In answer to your question no.

Nevertheless...I think you all just have to get to know each other first...know what I mean?

I'm done with this now.

Thank you, BT

I will now ignore Queen Mum and her self-righteous attitude.
(I will enjoy her wheezing hissy fit when someone like Free or porpoiseboy flicks a cyber-booger at her, though!) :-O

In order to be pro-choice, one must first be born. Ah, the irony.

hey hey cl3

Edit: speaking of golden arts, am I not using emoticons properly? :-O that one means I'm totally joking around. I thought.

Hey cl... I don't care

Hey cl...

I don't care what you do yourself one way or the other...but don't even think of including me with what you just posted towards her either...in anyway, shape or form.

Talk about self-righteous.

Mum can handle her own, just as I am sure sheryl can.

IMO that was down-right rude, let alone childish.

Carry on...

I came here to enjoy the rest of my lousy day so far...and I'm going to.

I'm just teasing, BT

If I weren't

I would never say that I was.

Hi Queemum - I agree that

conservatives should be able to criticize conservatives without being attacked.  I just wish (and I'm not saying you haven't done this) that conservatives would always keep it in perspective.    Too often I've heard conservatives say they don't like Rush, Hannity or Coulter because of their divisiveness and yet they ignore the fact that there are thousands of libs who are more divisive and it's helped the dems not hurt them.  That gets me.

I bought into the Rush and Coulter extremist labels at different times. It wasn't until I started to listen to Rush after 9/11 that I realized much of what he said was satire and that the media purposefully distort him.  Now I'm learning the same thing with Ann Coulter.

I don't like Hannity's radio show at all - I don't think he has a good voice for it and he gives me a headache.  There I think he repeats things and makes them too simple.   I did like him on H & C but couldn't stand Colmes so rarely watched it.

I tried the new show on the first night and hated it because all the guests in the panel talked over each other.  I've seen it one other time and it was much better that time.  I'm going to give it a try when I'm able.  It's certainly better than watching anything that the MSM has to offer. If I don't watch him, I'll have the television off.
My favorite conservatives in media are Laura Ingrahm, Brit Hume & Tony Snow (RIP) and Bill Bennett, but I'm glad for anyone who has the courage to stand up and speak out against unreasonable liberals.

As far as Newsbusters comments - I agree with you 100% - I have no idea what transpired previously with you and another poster and I don't care. People have to stop assuming that everyone here reads every post. When we respond to what a person says it should be relevant to what they have said at the moment, not bringing up past stuff unless it's directly relevant.

Hey howdy to you too

Hey howdy to you too Dee!

I can't believe it...two old time friends here on the same day.

Agree with your sentiments here also...heck, just you, me and Queen for example all have had disagreements here with each other here and there over time and manage to stay pals and get a long.

Just like now....Coulter and Rush are my favorite conservatives...and I don't consider them extremists either...lol.

Been having major probs with my computer...think I have most worked out...been working on it for hours just this morning alone...taking a break now here...glad to see you both!

Hi BT - very true - we can disagree

and don't have to like the same people whether their famous or not.  I Do like Rush and am beginning to like Ann Coulter a lot more being mad at myself for letting the stupid media bias me against her without full knowledge.  I never read political books but I think I'm going to buy her latest just because the media's clear double standard with her makes me sick.

I really don't get to listen to any of them much because I usually prefer to have music or silence.  It's only when I get really pissed or depressed that I turn them on.  Rush can get me laughing and Bill Bennett calms me.

Dee: It seems we have

Dee: It seems we have similar tastes when it comes to conservative talkers. Right now I'm having difficulty getting Laura and Bill Bennett. Bennett's on an a.m. station that doesn't come in very well in my area until later in his show. Laura used to be on the same station, but has been moved and is now being broadcast later in the day and only a portion of her show. I do like to listen to Rush, mostly because I enjoy the sarcasm and the way the left reacts to him. I've also become quite taken with The Dennis Miller Show. Only problem is that it's on at the same time as Rush and I have to make a decision as to what sort of mood I'm in. I choose Dennis when I want a break from pure politics. I must confess that lately Dennis is getting more of my time.

QueenMum

I have trouble getting Laura and always forget about Bill Bennett's morning show.  I wish Fox would give both of them a show.  I don't know what happened with Laura's show on Fox - never got to see it and I wish Bill Bennett would get off CNN because I don't watch CNN.

I may have to try Dennis Miller - but not for awhile because he's too optimistic about Obama right now.   Obama has done nothing yet IMO to make any conservative optimistic. In fact he's done quite the opposite.

Dee: I think Laura did a

Dee: I think Laura did a good job on Fox when she filled in for O'Reilly. Her brief stint with her own show was pretty much just a televised version of her radio show, except that segments had to be much shorter. I think the 5-6 p.m. est slot is a loser for anyone.

I agree - that's a bad time slot

I think that's where Glen Beck is now and I'm disappointed because I wanted to give him a try - but it's not a good time for me.  I'll have to remember to record it sometime.

Queen and Dee... or any

Queen and Dee...

or any others...go to TalkStreamLive.com I think it is...you can get all of these shows, well, most mentioned here, on this...some repeat come in later ect...just check their sites when you check them out.

I use this all the time.

Just thought I would let you all know in case you didn't.

Thanks for the tip, bt.

I am glad that some of this is getting out beyond this website.  There are a lot of people out there who feel as we do who just haven't discovered Newsbusters yet.

I agree sheryl that it's

I agree sheryl that it's good to see someone take on media bias such as Hannity and Tim did in the Media Mash segment. But for me, this doesn't make up for Hannity's over-the-top repetition of the same points he's been hammering for years. Although I mostly agree with his point of view, IMO he's a poor debater once his views are challenged.

my personal favorite is the

my personal favorite is the ABC 'reporter' who stated 'the seagulls were in awe by the blanket of humanity'!!! That one statement proves media bias beyond a shadow of a doubt...ABC doesnt' have a delay when they broadcast? Wonder if the camera man giggled?

ABC=All Barack Channel

I like Hannity but I feel

I like Hannity but I feel with his Sunday program and his radio show, he needs to get back the counterpoint on his nightly show.

Chris Matthews contract with MSNBC is almost up and he used to work for Ailes. He would get 3X more viewers than he does now and I believe the comic relief factor would be alot better than with Colmes.

Not to mention Keithy would have an aneurysm if Chrissy went to work for Fox.

I agree with your point,

I agree with your point, Blazer. Perhaps that's why I found the new "Hannity" show to be repetitious and somewhat stale. I never thought Colmes was a strong enough counter to Hannity, but I'm not sure if Matthews is the answer. Definitely something to think about. I think I'd prefer a former Congressperson or Senator akin to Huckabee.

Hey Howdy Queen.... Miss

Hey Howdy Queen....

Miss you around here...

Yep...so far I've been disappointed with his new show...it is new though, he may do nothing but improve with time...anyway, I hope so...about all I have left to listen to anymore that I care to tune into in the evening is BOR...and that's iffy at best...just depends on topics/segments and Hannity....so here's hoping improvements are coming.

Anyway...that's my opinion so far.
