Liberal Comedian Louis CK Withdraws from Media Dinner After Van Susteren Calls Attention to His Sexism

By Matthew Sheffield | March 09, 2012 | 16:40

Matthew Sheffield's picture

Earlier today, Van Susteren announced on her blog that she will not be attending the Radio and Television Correspondents Association Dinner hosted in DC every year. This dinner is being headlined by liberal comedian Louis C.K. who has said a number of offensive statements about Sarah Palin and other women that are far in excess of anything ever said by Rush Limbaugh on the air. Update below: C.K. has pulled out of the dinner

"Another pig….and a media association has hired the pig, Louis C.K., to be their headliner for the big media dinner?  Really?" Van Susteren wrote. Full blog post is quoted below the break:

Another pig….and a media association has hired the pig, Louis C.K., to be their headliner for the big media dinner?  Really?  I am not going.  I refuse to go.  Everyone in the media should join me in this boycott.

The headliner of this year’s Radio and Television Correspondents Dinner is “comedian” Louis C.K. Comedian?  I don’t think so.  Pig? yes.

He uses filthy language about women…..yes, the C word…and yes, even to describe a woman candidate for Vice President of the United States.   It isn’t just Governor Palin he denigrates.  He denigrates all women and looks to the crowd to laugh.

I refuse to show any support for this guy or for the Radio and Television Correspondents Association Dinner Committee who hired him.  I think the organization that hired him is just as bad as he is.  It is no secret that he denigrates women.

Here is a sample of what he said about Governor Sarah Palin and you tell me whether any member of the media should sit in the crowd while he speaks to them:

Louis C.K. says of Palin: “her f*** retard making c***” and “the baby that just came out of her f**** disgusting c***.”

To Palin: just “stick your t** in its mouth and shut up.”

And here is more:  ”…her f***** retard making c****”

Need more to convince you?  Here is what he says on twitter:

“I want to rub my father’s c*** all over Sarah Palin’s fat t***”

By the way, there is more, lots more.

I hope all the other women and men in the media join me in not going.

I also hope everyone has the courage to stand up to this.

It really is astonishing but unsurprising that the liberal media has hired this guy to entertain itself. Obviously, any right-leaning comedian who had made such remarks would never have been given this prime gig.

Kudos to Van Susteren for being a rare voice of consistency in the media with respect to left-wing comedians and talk show hosts.

Update 17:58. Louis C.K. has withdrawn from the dinner. He was not dismissed by the association. Hat tip: NBer Rush Fan. Note: The headline has been changed on this piece from its original which highlighted only the Van Susteren criticism.

Update 23:11. Van Susteren's action likely came in response to a letter she received from NB publisher Brent Bozell. Read his reaction to the whole thing right here.

Submitted by needle on Fri, 03/09/2012 - 11:27pm.

You just read what they are thinking.

Bill Maher, Louis C.K, and essentially all other liberal entertainers, they do not perform their horrid, vile, and vulgar acts in a vacuum. They have an audience. Liberals, all of them! If there were any liberals that object to these disgusting remarks which pour as sewer waste out of liberal entertainers, I certainly have never heard any such objections. NO, they thoroughly enjoy their depraved repulsive humor. All evidence points to the fact that this is the way all liberals think, and certainly what appeals to their “sensibilities.”

We certainly do not need Rush Limbaugh to tell us how vulgar and degenerate Liberals are, all of them. It is abundantly clear and obvious.

Throw it back at 'em

Submitted by CO2Maker on Fri, 03/09/2012 - 5:16pm.

Every Republican candidate or politician, every conservative commentator and pundit should ask liberal journalists and television reporters every chance they get, "Yes, that's a good question about Rush. But first, what is your stance on liberals who say vile things about Palin?" Or ask Maher on the air, "So, c***head, how's it going? Got any cheap laughs with vulgarities lately, c***head?" Make him throw you off the air, but do it well into the taping so they don't have time to retape the show without you.

The only time I can remember a reporter's misbehavior being used against him on the air was when Bush 41, during the 1988 campaign and tired of being hectored by Dan the Man about Iran-Contra, rebuffed Rather by asking him about the five minutes of dead air he caused for CBS when he was peeved that a football game went overtime and into the start of the evening news.

syntax definition
language
The structure of valid strings in a given language, as described by a grammar. For example, the syntax of a binary number could be expressed as
binary_number = bit [ binary_number ]
bit = "0" | "1"
meaning that a binary number is a bit optionally followed by a binary number and a bit is a literal zero or one digit.
The meaning of the language is given by its semantics.

How come so many illiterates on here trying to show off? Your syntax example is a mess. Clearly you dont have the slightest idea of correct language or maybe you have just sucked your dissertation out of your thumb or should I say 'digit'.

SYNTAX IS ........BINARY _DIGIT == Bi + T giving Bit! A bit is not a binary number. A binary number is a series of binary digits i.e. bits which make up a byte... the hexadecimal representaion for example would be 0000 to 1111 which is 00 to AA. Sleep well

Check out simple in the dictionary. There are several meanings but the first and foremost definition of simple means: easy, able to be done or understood quickly, or with very little effort.

Rush says he makes his job look easy, but would you like to try doing what he does three hours a day, five days a week and keep an audience?.

Cool of you to say you don't (really) like him. IIf we can't stand to miss a few minutes of "really funny" comedy when the person says vile, profane things about women, what the heck kind of people are we? (And it's not just "about women;" it's about anybody. ) There IS still such a thing as having class, tho' we see so little of it that we're all like, "Woh, Dude!" when we experience it.

Don Rickles was one thing. But a few decades later, his heirs think that just rattling off a string of insults (mainly that someone is stupid or slutty) is humor. It's not. People are laughing in shared camraderie over "WE'RE not like that, huh!" with a few joining in,in shared. embarresed shame so they won't feel awkward.

Though his humor can be extremely crass at times-that's not the focus of his output. Most of his humor is really hilarious observational stuff-and his show is surprisingly smart and even sad at times.

Regardless, women on the left and right should be applauding her. They won't of course.

I'd like to thank Hollywood for renewing my interest in reading.

that she was a Liberal. I have been watching her show for quite awhile now and I think she is pretty independent (non political).

Perhaps it is because she works for Fox News, but most of her guests seem to be Conservative and she doesn't treat them as they are treated on non-Fox News programs (as if they were her political enemies).

If she is a Liberal, she hides it pretty well. I'd say whatever her personal views are, she is "fair and balanced" and she is a very good and smart interviewer.

The worst thing I can say about her (besides her looks) is that I think her politics line up fairly well with one of her most frequent guests. And that would be John McCain. .

You state unequivocally that the GOP, or RNC, or whatever made people apologize to Rush, yet all evidence say that neither likes Rush very much, (he doesn't tow the party line, IOW, he's a true conservative).

NTM, you later admit that you can't document any forced apologies. What gives?

I double guarantee she will not say a word about Bill Maher, Louie C.K., Ed Schultz, Keith Olbermann or any number of liberals who have said things far worse than what Rush ever said.

I hope Fox News doesn't give her platform. She should only go to the non-Fox News media where she will be welcomed with open arms.

the misdemeanor law that Allred is citing says, “speaks of and concerning any woman, married or unmarried, falsely and maliciously imputing to her a want of chastity” is guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree".  As the media has, non-stop, told us what Ms Fluke said, Rush hasn't said anything false or malicious about Ms. Fluke's character, and he certainly didn't falsely impute that she was wanting of chastity, she made that case herself.

Besides, this very old Florida law won't stand up to a Constitutional challenge.  Not that Allred knows anything about the Constitution.
