Appearing on FNC's "Hannity and Colmes" to promote his new Hillary Clinton book Whitewash, NewsBusters publisher and MRC president Brent Bozell was asked to talk about former ABC anchor Carole Simpson's recent endorsement of Hillary Clinton for president.
Liberal host Alan Colmes tried to spin Bozell's remarks but Brent stuck to his guns, correctly pointing out that Simpson's explicit action wasn't revelatory to anyone who's looked at her work.
Indeed, as Brent Baker pointed out last month, Simpson has a long record of making ludicrously biased statements in favor of Democrats and against Republicans.

Media Bias
November 25, 2007 - 16:31 ET by BlondeI love the way Brent Bozell handles that liberal talking head Alan Colmes. He has the poor dolt Alan absolutely dialed in. Gets him going, lets him spew idiotic things, then just kind of sits back, laughs, and pounces on the stupidity in the nicest sort of way.
I shake my head in awe every time I see him do it. I'd have lost my temper with Alan long ago.
David Gregory, do you know which damn network you lie for? ~ Uncle Jimbo, @Blackfive
You and I both, Blonde.
November 25, 2007 - 16:49 ET by motherbeltI'd have lost my temper with Alan long ago.
You and I both, Blonde. Alan Colmes is as thick as two planks. He kept saying so what, you discovered she's a liberal. No matter how many times Brent said no, I'm saying this was NOT news, it's been obvious she was a liberal all along. Alan just went on his merry way...Oh, migosh, Carol Simpson is a liberal....the sky is falling!!!
And that Huffingtn Post guy!! I don't know what college he went to, but no professor ever expected a student to become an existentialist when they studied Kierkegarde. Of course he had an easy time; he's a liberal and so are most profs. But plenty of profs will fail a student who won't take part in an antiwar march, or write their congressman to oppose cuts in some entitlement program, etc. So when he claims that professors don't indoctrinate college students, and that they allow all viewpoints to be presented, he's full of what the birds drop, and I don't mean feathers.
Alan Colmes
November 25, 2007 - 16:56 ET by Der AlteWhen Colmes had a radio show on the old NBC radio out of NYC years ago some guy would call in and when it was his turn to speak he called Colmes "maggot". That say's it all!
The libs spend
November 25, 2007 - 19:19 ET by Nortonalecso much time denying bias-why not admit it? Do they think liberal voters would change parties? Would conservatives suddenly rush to Hillary's camp?

Simpson story looks like a 'plant'
November 25, 2007 - 19:16 ET by kgThe whole Simpson story looks like a 'plant'. This is not a news item. I even
believe that the "I will step down" was a ploy for a chance to campaign for
Hillary under guise of "News".
I even believe that the segment was Colmes' idea so he can campaign for his
idol 'Hillary'.
All those the media can personally endorse Hillary, for all I care. If
anything, it will definitely turn people off the 'News'. Unfortunately they do
not want to show their true colors and where their loyalty lies.
a nice myth
November 25, 2007 - 21:29 ET by 89CanesThe best part is at the end, where Ron whats-his-face says accusations that the media is biased is a myth. I'm still chuckling over that one. You don't need a BS in journalism from Northwestern to see the left-wing bias. Hell a quick sweep of any issue of Time magazine or USA Today will reveal all you need to know. 16 people killed in fighting in Iraq? That's front page news. 16 people saved by troops in some small village in Iraq? That's page 12.
What? What Liberalism?
November 26, 2007 - 03:04 ET by KC MulvilleDefenders of the media routinely tell us that journalists show no bias. In fact, the Huffington guy claimed that “we all know” that it’s a fraud. Howard Kurtz was on the Tim Russert cable show this week, defending the media again. They want to argue that it’s all a figment of our imagination. Yet when Carole Simpson endorses Hillary, after years of promoting the Clintons during her years as a journalist, the same media defenders (i.e., Alan Colmes) reply, “so what?” “Just because she’s a liberal doesn’t mean the whole media is liberal.” OK … we’ll say this slowly … can’t you admit now, even now, that maybe we were at least correct about Carole Simpson?
Yes, we are paying attention to that man behind the curtain!
Double talk
November 26, 2007 - 06:11 ET by imau2fanOh my God, that was laugh-out-loud funny. Colmes really stepped in it on that one.
First, he dismisses the importance of Simpson's endorsement of Hillary. Then, when Bozell rattles off just a couple examples of Simpson's bias at ABC, Colmes cries, "But let's talk about the present!" Hey Alan, I thought the present was unimportant! Make up your mind. You can't have it both ways.
This is the problem with some of these political debate shows. Crossfire had the same problem. Sometimes one side has to stretch to ridiculous lengths of denial, just to "be the other side."
The problem is, sometimes there isn't another side. And in times like this, I wonder if Colmes really passionately believes what he's saying, or is just staking out his required leftward post, just for television.
