CBS's King Goes Gaga Over Obama Family; No Questions About Lavish Expenses
Gayle King made it clear that she is in the tank for the Obama campaign on Thursday's CBS This Morning, specifically vouching that Michelle Obama apparently is "passionate," and that the First Lady is "looking forward to returning for another four years. They're going to work very hard to make that happen."
King continued tossing softballs at her admitted friend, at one point gushing, "Do you ever just sort of marvel at your life?" She completely omitted asking her guest about controversial aspects of her time in the White House, such as Mrs. Obama's travel expenses, or how the First Lady wore $540 designer sneakers as she fed the poor in Washington, DC in 2009.
After the seven-minute segment from their interview aired at the bottom of the 8 am Eastern hour, the CBS anchor discussed it with co-anchors Charlie Rose and Erica Hill. Rose asked King, "What do you want us to take away about Michelle Obama?" The new morning show personality immediately went for the superlatives about her friend:
KING: I want you to take away that Michelle Obama is loving, she's kind, she's passionate, and, more than anything, she loves being First Lady of the United States. This isn't just idle chatter for her. She takes it very, very seriously, and she's looking forward to returning for another four years. They're going to work very hard to make that happen.
The previous morning, King made a very similar gushing statement to Rose after they played the second segment of the twelve-plus minutes of footage from the interview:
ROSE: Where are her vulnerabilities? What does she worry about? What is her sort of fear?
KING: You know she worries about keeping the family normal. She's very protective of her girls, and she works very hard to make sure that they have a normal life. She worries sometimes that the message isn't getting across, and she's very excited about hitting the campaign trail to do that. You know make- and make no mistake, they do not want to or intend to be a one-term presidency. You know, she spent over an hour with us. She was very gracious and, you know, spent a lot of time answering everything that we wanted to discuss. But, you know, what keeps her up at night? I don't think too much. She's very- but she knows they have work to do. She knows they have work to do.
Earlier in the hour on Thursday, the CBS anchor teased the interview segment by playing a clip where the First Lady talked about how her children take care of their dog, Bo and the most unappealing part of owning a canine:
MICHELLE OBAMA: After dinner, so they have to take him on his last walk.
KING: They have to clean up pootie?
OBAMA: Yeah, but Bo- you know, see this- you know, he goes in the ivy. He doesn't go out-
KING: On the grass?
OBAMA: He doesn't. He's- ever since he was a puppy-
KING: Kind of hard to clean up pootie in the ivy.
OBAMA: That's what I'm saying. So don't walk in the ivy on the South Lawn, is what I'm saying.
KING (live): Now, you know. I don't care who you are, nobody likes pootie duty. I did that for years- First Lady Michelle Obama on some of the less glamorous realities of living in the White House.
During the beginning of the actual segment, King cooed over the many family photographs that lined a hallway in the White House East Wing. This is where she asked Mrs. Obama her "marvel" question:
KING (from pre-recorded interview): Can I just say, I love this picture. (Mrs. Obama laughs) You know what? What is it like for you when you walk down the hall? Really? I love this picture.
OBAMA: It's actually- well, this is like- this is the East Wing. This is my office. It's family, so you-
KING: So it's all family photos?
OBAMA: Well, it's- well, this is family. My staff is family. So it's like sharing some of your best moments with your crew. This was at the World Series -Jill [Biden] and I.
KING: I remember that-
OBAMA: We were there with a wounded warrior and his daughter, who is so adorable. I can't remember where we were, but this is typical Barack and something he shouldn't- this is after one of the Christmas parties, so you see me taking off my shoes. That was probably after like a 300-person photo line, and the first thing I do after those is take my shoes off-
KING: Me too- take your shoes off-
OBAMA: So he was just carrying my shoes upstairs-
KING: Do you ever walk down and look at the pictures that are around the White House and go, that's me! That's us?
OBAMA: Sometimes- yeah, yeah.
KING: Do you ever just sort of marvel at your life?
OBAMA: Yeah, yeah-
KING: That you live at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and you're about to start another campaign?
OBAMA: Yes, yes! And it's so cool! So yes, I have a lot of fun in this job. You can look down the hall and see fun.
KING: I know. Really, your life is sort of documented, really- and the girls', too.
On Wednesday's CBS This Morning, the CBS anchor tossed softballs at Obama, sympathized with the First Lady over how many supposedly see her, and let her guest drop a racially-tinged charge. Between the two segments on Wednesday and the segment on Thursday, the morning show devoted nearly 19 minutes to King's beyond sympathetic interview of her friend, the First Lady, along with her glowing words for Mrs. Obama after each part. This, of course, is just as the presidential campaign is starting to heat up.

Of course....this is just the start of a repeat of 2008. The MSM is totally in the tank for Obama and will fawn over BO and MO every chance they get.
Did anyone really expect anything different here?

This is Gayle King we're talking about here....She works for CBS...She's the liberal, Obama loving Oprah's best friend...She's a known good buddy of Michelle Obama's. All you can ever expect from her is kissy-face fluff on just about any topic, especially if it has anything to do with the Obamas.

What did you expect from Oprah's gal-pal?
There just might be an MSNBC show in her future!
looking forward..to another four years..

Another four years, huh? Not if America can help it. Remember in 2008 when Obama said something like,"..maybe 10-12 years from now in the White House,I'll.....". I heard something today about Obama telling a crowd ," This is my last campaign.." Well, duh, master of the obvious, unless you know something we don't..or does he mean this is the last election? Again, know something we don't?
Isn't that

But why?

Other than ego and the perks why would the obama's even want to stay in the Whitehouse? The country is out of money so the next big spending will be for debt not massive new federal programs.. The people are angry and getting angrier. The obama's will never again get the political support and admiration of a majority of the American people.
There you go, MA.....

Michelle Obama is a Phoney with entitlement issues

Michelle Obama has acted like she feels like an ENTITLED person. Her mechanism and vehicle may be race and or gender, but the shoe fits.
If you look at the history of Michelle Obama it’s of interest to note that after graduating law school she went to work for a Law Firm in 1988. She left in 1991. Let that sink in for a minute.
Most young associates who go to work for a law firm realize that the first 2-3 years are pure drudgery and the next few 1-5 years are for building your reputation in your chosen specialization.
Your first year you are doing scut work and preparing to pass the bar. You’re not even a lawyer for most of your first year. THEN you have to LEARN how to PRACTICE law - because, despite Hollywood movies to the contrary, law school is theory, precedent, and a money sucking vacuum that is in serious need of overhaul.
Apparently during her first or second year (this is from memory) she commented that there were few black faces and not enough black partners in the firm. She was barely beyond her J.D., had just passed the bar, and was broadly hinting (IMO) that they needed to “get this train moving” and do some affirmative action.
Now, that’s MY TAKE on it – but I have grown up knowing quite a few lawyers, and can say this: Any first or second year associate who starts to make noises about how they SHOULD be moved up, (hint: you guys have a racial issue and need to promote minorities : meaning ME) is not going to do well.
Law firms who take Harvard Law grads are making an investment. They are not going to see any real production out of them until year 3 or 4. There are exceptions, but it’s really rare. If you hire some associate and they can’t make the cut, they usually “seek employment elsewhere” – but it’s just polite lawyer speak for saying “the reality did not match the potential promise”. If she was such a legal eagle that she was earning her keep after 3 years, the firm would have been insane or stupid not to offer her a ton of money to stay and keep making THEM money. But that didn't happen. Michelle and the firm "parted ways".
For a law firm to hire a Harvard Law grad, keep her and pay her, while she studies for the bar, and then her go, if she is some legal stud (or studdette) after 3 years is idiotic. They just gave that associate a crash course in law and are getting no return on their investment.
But, Michelle stayed there for 3 years, and the firm and she parted ways. She then went into “public service” as “an assistant to the mayor”. 28 years old, barely able to practice and she’s advising the mayor?
On what?!
That’s not some red hot legal stud who blazed a trail – IMO that’s someone who found out the law firm world of grind and dues was actual WORK. Who then started to make noise about “not enough black faces at the partners table” and, think about this for a good minute or two, let Michelle know her future there wasn’t bright. A racially motivated black lawyer who had serious affirmative action issues – and they let her go – it was a gamble of pay now or risk a lot more later.
Now – again, to be clear, much of this is based on my knowledge of how some law firms work, what it takes to make it the first few years out of law school, and the mutually beneficial relationship between associate and firm that exists – and how Michelle basically washed out.
And then went into “public service” – and whose private sector work included farming out poor folk to local clinics instead of having the hospital she worked for see them (and pay for them) and being given a raise for saving the hospital money.
Screw her what her political party is, or who her husband is, or if she has a (D) or an (R) next to her name. IMO she’s an entitlement junkie who used gender and race to achieve what she lacks in talent. Doing that for herself if one thing. Doing it while “believing in ‘social justice’ and ‘helping people of color’” and then throwing those very people under the bus medically is pure self-absorbed mercenary behavior.
She’s a phoney.

"I have a lot of fun on this job. I look down the hall and I see fun'?? Like -when she is leaving the White House, walking down the hallway to get on in a limosine or a helicopter to fly to 'her' private jet, to go on another 'free' vacation???
This poor excuse for a human being is one of the biggest phonies I've ever seen - which is saying something - and I'm wondering how many people actually believe ANYTHING that comes out of her mouth...................and the same goes for her wimp-ass husband.
Somehow, she's 'transformed' from 'hating her job' to 'loving her job'...............just in time for the upcoming election.
...she loves being First Lady

Of that I'm sure. What other job allows you to have a pageant every week where you are the focus of all attention?

They are ENTITLED to it don't you see because they have been DEPRIVED. Whitey kept them down. Of course the "Won" was elected with a large number of white votes, but we are still a racist nation according to the biggest racists of all, LIBERAL SCUMBAGS (most libs/dems are racists).
