CNN Hypes Planned Parenthood's Claims of 'Bullying by the Right'

By Matt Hadro | February 02, 2012 | 13:10

Normally, when a leading charity cuts ties to a large non-profit organization, the news will not spark a media controversy. But when the Susan G. Komen Foundation severed financial ties to Planned Parenthood due to Congressional investigations into the organization, CNN hyped Planned Parenthood's cries of foul play and "bullying from the right."

Correspondent Mary Snow aired a pretty one-sided piece on Wednesday including statements from Planned Parenthood's president Cecile Richards, evidence supporting her claims of right-wing "bullying," and even vitriolic Facebook posts decrying the de-funding. [Video below the break. Click here for audio.]

"Planned Parenthood blames bullying by the right," Snow first reported. The group's president Cecile Richards later told CNN of an "ugly and aggressive campaign by right-wing organizations to bully the Komen Foundation and keep them from working with Planned Parenthood."

Meanwhile, Snow interviewed no supporter of the de-funding in her report. She aired a single statement from the Susan G. Komen Foundation and quoted a pro-life group that supported the foundation's separation from Planned Parenthood.

Snow helped Richards' cause by listing the pro-life group as having "targeted" the Komen Foundation, just after a Richards soundbite castigated "right-wing" groups for bullying the foundation. Snow also reported ties the foundation has to the Republican Party, which is leading a Congressional investigation of Planned Parenthood.

And at the end of the report, Snow ended on a positive note for Planned Parenthood. "Now, more than 4,000 people have weighed in on the charity's Facebook page, and meantime, Planned Parenthood tells us tonight that it's raised more than $400,000 in the last 24 hours," she reported.

'Planned Parenthood tells us

'Planned Parenthood tells us tonight that it's raised more than $400,000 in the last 24 hours," she reported.'

Probably more BS but if true then they don't need SGK. They can raise their own blood money.

Money for Planed Parenthood

Submitted by wingnut55 on Thu, 02/02/2012 - 1:40pm.

If they could raise $400,000 in 24 hours, they have just been lazy and now need to get their money from their supporters and not the federal government.

Cecile Richards should be tried for murder

Submitted by c5then on Thu, 02/02/2012 - 1:48pm.

She is the head of an organization that exists solely for the purpose of murdering unborn babies. Contrary to their brochures and their testimoney to Congress they do not provide breast screenings for women. All they do is refer them to places who do.

The research is becoming almost irrefutable in the link between abortion and breast cancer. It is clear that the more abortions a woman has, the higher is the likelyhood of her getting breast cancer. SGK foundation had no choice. The investigation was just a convenient excuse because they didn't want to have to acknowledge that link. It is still not politically correct to talk about it.

Funny that leftist,

Submitted by TE on Thu, 02/02/2012 - 1:54pm.

Funny that leftist, pro-abortion dupe Mary Snow and CNN had nothing to say about Planned Parenthood's favorite abortionist Joseph Mengele.

BTW, Cecile Richards is every bit as much a red-eyed, frothing at the mouth, virulent, militant, family hating, America hating, hysterical, leftist feminist dimwitted dingbat as her vile, worthless mother was.

Who needs dog whistles?

Submitted by JeffC... on Thu, 02/02/2012 - 1:55pm.

Planned Parenthood is doing a good job at exactly what its eugenisist founder wanted--to eliminate children of races that she deemed undesirable.

MSNBC's idiot-hosts don't need to be able to hear a dog whistle to decide anything. It's right in Sanger's speeches and writings.

Domestic Holocaust

Submitted by iamsaved on Thu, 02/02/2012 - 1:57pm.

I guess it would have been a right wing conspiracy to have the crematoriums shut down in Nazi Germany to prevent the bloodbath there. Saying that PP is there for "other" women's health issues is like saying the concentration camps were there for helping the unemployed Jews have a job they could go to daily. That's all Planned Parenthood's mission is about - the killing of innocent life, regardless of what they say their mission is.

I thought the Komen foundation was about preventing breast cancer. Did they expand their horizons to include the killing of the unborn?

I always wondered why the leftist Dems ranted and raved about touching social security and keeping it a viable program. Maybe if the left wouldn't have promoted the killing of over 50 to 100 million potential wage earners, social security would be on a sound financial footing for quite sometime to come - that is if the Dems didn't raid the coffers for other redistribution of wealth schemes.

Remove Hands From Cookie Jar

Submitted by sergeant stogie on Thu, 02/02/2012 - 2:24pm.

The progressives always cry and scream and throw tantrums whenever someone (or something, as in an organization) stands up to them and stops giving them money. The commie libs can never exist on their own, or earn their own money, they have to steal it from someone else.

bullying from the right?

Submitted by ohio granny on Thu, 02/02/2012 - 5:28pm.

Why is it bullying when the right withholds their money to make a point? Liberals make all kinds of threats when companies or organizations disagree with what they want and the MSM does not accuse them of bullying. The democrats and liberals are the biggest bullies on the planet.

Last time I checked the right has the same rights to support or oppose any organization. No amount of whining or complaining will change that.

Democrats/liberals hypocrital crybabies. Crooks, theives, thugs and liars.
