NBC's Kelly O'Donnell Calls Congressional Advocacy Of Tax Increases A 'Bright Spot'
Question: What does an MSMer call congressional support for tax increases?
Answer: A "bright spot."
Earlier today in another item this NewsBuster wrote: "In the liberal media mindset, mature, sensible citizens will vote for higher taxes, and by extension, for Democrats. If they don't, they must have taken temporary leave of their senses. The notion that people, in full control of their rational faculties, might be opposed to higher taxes and more goverment, simply doesn't compute in the MSM medulla." Literally within minutes of that item appearing, we had a perfect illustration of the MSM mindset it described. [Video after the jump]
On Morning Joe today, NBC's Kelly O'Donnell called the support for tax increases contained in a letter from a number of congressmen to the so-called Super-Committe a "bright spot."
O'Donnell was generally pessimistic about the prospects that the Super-Committee would come to an agreement. But she kept hope alive with her reference to those tax-increase supporting congressmen. I'll be back with a transcript, but in the meantime watch O'Donnell at work. Was she even aware of her liberal frame of reference, or did O'Donnell simply take it for granted that sensible folks would view the prospect of tax increases as a good thing?
JOE SCARBOROUGH: So, what's happening with the Super Committee?
KELLY O'DONNELL: Well, talking to people day-in, day-out I think we're in a window of time now where there's a lot of pessimism. If there wasn't all along, I think it's really, particularly strong now. They've got a couple of weeks to resolve this, even less if you're talking about their putting pieces of the package of cuts together to allow the Congressional Budget Office--number crunchers--to score it. Talking to people in the last 24 hours, they think failure is likely, and then --
SCARBOROUGH: Really? Wow.
O'DONNELL: What do they do? Those are the kinds of impressions you're hearing talked about. At the same time, there was kind of a bright spot yesterday in the House, where 100 members, including 40 Republicans, came together, signed a letter urging the committee to go big: that's the key phrase of the week --
ED RENDELL [former Dem DNC Chairman]: Consider revenue!
O'DONNELL: -- and to consider tax revenue.
So there it is. An MSMer parroting a former DNC Chairman, using that useful euphemism for tax increases: "consider revenue."

Without a DNC talking point to recite, she would have nothing to say. Don't think she was hired for thoughtful analysis...
Give her a paycheck and she'll become a Bolshevik.

How would NBC know what a bright spot is, when they spend all their time with their heads up Obama's agenda?

I truly think this country would be better off with a Flat Tax. Libturds like O'Donnell just do not realize that we do not have a tax problem, we have a spending problem.
Simplify the tax code. A nice flat 17%, but any libturd that starts complaining that is "unfair" and that taxes need to be raised should immediately be bumped up to a 90% rate.

Kelly O'Donnell is only one of the many Obama wh*res in the MSM. What kind of expert is she that she knows what taxes anyone should pay? Just another dumb broad who has never seen as democrat she dislikes or will not support and has never seen a republican she will support. So just shut up. No one really cares what you think or say anyway.
Ronald Reagan said it best. The trouble with liberals is they know so much that is not true.

It's been interesting watching the narrative(s) evolve over the last few years. The msm comes out leaning totally toward the D's perspective, extreme D's are spotlit in interviews, then slowly, we hear the R's state their case.
Once it becomes obvious the far left meme *won't* hold, they get the moderate D's on, spouting the R's points as if they were onboard with them from day one.
I guess this is that compromise stuff they keep blathering on about?
Anyway, we had the D's saying NO cuts, raise taxes, with the R's saying the complete opposite.
Now we have a few R's saying yeah, it's the tax code, lets tinker with it to raise revenue {increase taxes/move around the deck chairs} while slowing the growth {known as *omg* cuts} of spending.
This mindset is how we got to the tipping point, so I'm glad Cain etal are talking tax *reform* over tinkering, and Kelly is trying to stave them off by saying "Hey guys, no need to be DRASTIC, these R's are "rational" and will compromise" but she doesn't understand that the TP - and even the OWS'ers - don't want that.
This IS the crossroads folks. Compromise and resume the death march to collapse ala Greece.
