Morning Joe's All-Liberal Lineup

By Mark Finkelstein | October 21, 2011 | 09:40

A  A

Sometimes, a show's guest list is enough to illuminate its liberal bias. Take today's Morning Joe. Joe Scarborough has previously spoken of the show's prevailing 10:1 ratio of liberal to conservative guests.   But Morning Joe took matters that silly millimeter longer today, with a lineup utterly devoid of any Republican or conservative guests, to wit:

  • Katty Kay--BBC
  • John Heilemann--New York magazine
  • Mike Barnicle--former Kennedy-clan aide
  • Carl Bernstein --Vanity Fair, formerly of Washington Post
  • Eugene Robinson--Washington Post
  • David Gregory--NBC host, Meet the Press
  • Al Sharpton--MSNBC host, activist
  • Touré --MSNBC contributor, 9/11 truther

When this NewsBuster raised Morning Joe's lack of balance in the past, a show source spoke of the difficulty of booking conservative guests.  Anyone buying that as the predominant explanation of the guest list's tremendous tilt to port?

katty

And one problem is that NBC presents Katty Kay as a neutral journalist, whereas she is the embodiment of liberal conventional wisdom.

You're so right, dubuqueman, with an emphasis on "conventional." Can't remember hearing Kay say anything surprising.

This Just In

Submitted by scottyusmc on Fri, 10/21/2011 - 10:10am.

It is being reported from British Intelligence that they have changed the designation of James Bond, from “007” to “D.” It has been shown that anyone with a “D” by their name has the willing support of the US media to kill with impunity. Now he will be referred to as “James Bond, Agent “D,” Licensed to Kill
.
So whether you support killing in the womb through Pro-Choice (Abortion) or sending a Hellfire missile up the butt of a foreign leader, the American media will support you and proudly trumpet your success.

America the greatest – where anyone can aspire to be President, and also have the license to kill with impunity; oh but you need to have a "D" beside your name!

Mike Barnicle let fly a WHOPPER this morning

Submitted by Annie Ashe Fields on Fri, 10/21/2011 - 10:37am.

Just before 8am, Mike Barnicle, FIRED for "embellishing" stories at The Boston Globe, INSULTED another man's father, Marco Rubio's dad, when it was found they fled Cuba 2 years BEFORE Castro so Barncile, jumping on the pig-pile on Senator Rubio's integrity said Marco's "embellishing" his Cuban refugee story was probably due to the elder Rubio telling his son to "make the story better" by glossing over the 2 year gap...

Uh... There's A LOT to unpack here, but I'll say only this:

I'M BETTING CUBA WASN'T A FRIGGIN' SHANGRI-LA WHILE CASTRO WAS *GATHERING* HIS POWER, HUH?

Do these people have NO self-awareness WHATSOEVER? OMG.

PS: Would that they would read Jack Cashill's investigation into Obama's bullsh*t story about HIS provenance!

About Marco....

Submitted by Blonde on Fri, 10/21/2011 - 10:51am.

I'm sure he won't deign to lower himself to reply to this twit, Barnicle....this is just very typical of the liberal media trying to use his family to go after him, because he is such a bright new star on the conservative scene.

This isn't the first time the media has pulled some idiot nonsense about Rubio's family.....OMG! Did you know Marco Rubio's brother-in-law was convicted of a crime 25 years ago???? Shocking! Even moreso, Marco was 16 years old at the time. But you know, anything to slam a conservative.

Idiots.

And even though Joe cries

Submitted by marpel on Fri, 10/21/2011 - 10:39am.

And even though Joe cries about being a conservative, he's a RINO, and a self important one at that. I'd rather watch reruns of Seinfeld in the a.m. It's better for my blood pressure.

ITS WORSE

Submitted by Benson on Fri, 10/21/2011 - 10:56am.

I managed to suffer thru this morning's propaganda as they laughed off that they are now dubbed the "Hour of Democrats." But their agenda is also glaring when they do tackle topics that may cast a dim light on democrats.

-They managed to show two clips of Hillary regarding Libya but never dared to show the clip from the same interview where she boasted- "We came, we saw, he died"

-They touched on Biden's rape comments and showed a mellow two sentence clip of his pro-union speech. It was the only part of his speech where he was subdued. Ironically Geist mentioned his sentence in the speech about wanting "them to have a 200 pound man over them forcing them to submit" The whole panel had not heard that line. How is a whole panel so uninformed?

-Then they were able to attack Rubio without being able to find ANY of the articles or responses that shot down the WaPos article as crap

MSNBC's agenda is soooo far left that they can't find any news that paints the Democrats poorly. Its unwatchable.

re Scraborough

Submitted by Benson on Fri, 10/21/2011 - 11:02am.

Scarborough is laughably uniformed. He likes to tout his conservative history but he is rarely informed on a modern topic. I think he gets his news and talking points from the network he works for so he isn't informed enough to add balance to the lineup.

When ABC puts George Will next to Krugman it's easy to see who the mental midget is when topics are discussed. Krugman should give Will his Nobel prize as he consistent is left speechless when they debate. Scarborough should be able to smack down a panel of 5 liberals if he would pay attention to the current debate and facts.

MSNBC liberal lineup

Submitted by truckinmann on Fri, 10/21/2011 - 12:22pm.

I don't doubt for a second that they can't get conservatives to come on their network. They can get some Republicans to come on, but only moderate to liberal ones. I wouldn't grace them with my presence if they paid me thousands to ask me 1 question only. No conservative could possibly believe that this lame network can help get their message out to the general public. All they will do is twist their message to the few liberals who are able to tolerate watching any of their programing for a 1/2 hour or more.

The lineup verifies Joe's a RINO

Submitted by Marsh on Fri, 10/21/2011 - 2:37pm.

The show isn't called "Morning Mika". It's called "Morning Joe". It's his show and he calls the shots. Yet all the side kicks he has hired are liberals and every day his show is top heavy with liberal guests. Because Joe likes to be surrounded by his ilk.

Maybe more conservatives would come on the show if they weren't excoriated by "conservative" Joe and his liberal stooges each morning.

Probably because the day

Submitted by amyshulk on Mon, 10/24/2011 - 12:50am.

Probably because the day before, Joe shut Mika down {I thought she was either going to leave her chair or cry} when Rep McCarthy calmly rebutted Mika & Eugene's hysterical "but, but, they told me it was the eeeeeeevil R's, what you say just CAN'T be the truth" it was hysterical!!!

The government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.
