Mika: 'Morning Joe' Being Pressured To Invite More Pro-Obama Flacks

By Mark Finkelstein | July 01, 2011 | 07:30

A  A

Jay Carney admits calling MSNBC yesterday to complain about Mark Halperin's crack [that we were first to report] that the President, at his Wednesday press conference, acted like a "d--k."  Did the White House press secretary take the opportunity of his call to pressure the show to bring on more pro-Obama flacks?

The question arises because on today's show, Mika Brzezinski revealed that "we're getting hit a lot lately for not bringing on people who speak on behalf of the White House and really stick up for the President."

There was something surreal about Mika's statement.  When she broached the subject of balance, I was sure she was going to say that complaints were coming from Republicans about the paucity of GOP/conservative guests on the show.  After all, as Joe Scarborough pointed out moments later, when the show researched its guest list, it found a stunning 10:1 ratio of Democrats to Republicans!

But apparently that isn't good enough for those Obamaites.  They want more Dems, and above all, more pro-Obama sycophants.   So, Jay Carney, was it you who was kvetching?

Watch this reality-turned-upside-down clip.

Mika was clearly trying to convince her pro-Obama friends that the show did indeed have plenty of guests who support the President. She began by asking super-lib professor Jeffrey Sachs if he was a supporter of the President and had voted for him.  Sachs confirmed he did, but added that he's been disappointed by Obama's lack of "clarity."  Mika then turned to John Heilemann of New York magazine, with a question that assumed that he too had voted for PBO.  Mika was surely disappointed when Heilemann said he had not voted in the presidential election.  Later, Mika did her best to appease those pushing for more Obama flacks, pleading with Sachs to say "what you think the President's doing right."

After this segment there should be NO doubt that MSNBC is just another branch of this administration. I just watched Elijah Cummings say it wasn't fair to criticize BO for going to a campaign fundraiser AFTER he scolded Congress for not staying in DC-what??!! These people have their marching orders don't they?!

I watched Jerk Uiygar with the head mouthpiece of Media Matters yesterday once again throwing out the "Fox News is a Republican propaganda channel". I'm looking at both of those Moonbats in complete disbelief. Jerk's show never mentions anything current in politics, it's a complete Republican/Conservative smear/bash hour of pandering to Kommunist Kool-Aid drinkers. I hope all these Kommunist Klowns stay on the air, it's like a visual Air America, with them looking like propagandists more and more. I hope the Democrat/Communist Party implodes with this election. They are far more dangerous than Al-Queda,Hamas,Hezbollah and the Muslim Brotherhood combined. As Dinesh D'Souza once wrote, "The Enemy Within". Indeed...........

Unreal!

Submitted by Redrowan2000 on Fri, 07/01/2011 - 10:33pm.

This should be the video that Bernie Goldberg uses when he is on Fox News again with O'Reilly. Not even a pretense and the great part is that Chance is now being found out. A couple of golf games , some vacation time and taking the wife to NYC, seems to be the limits of his success. Unless bankrupting the country to the point of no return is to be considered a positive.
I must admit that I saw this too and the moment was surreal when Mika asked her guests who they voted for. The cheerio almost came through my nose. The only part that was unbelievable was Heileman saying he didn't vote. But if she asked him if he had a picture on his wall with devotional candles of Chance that would have been a yes mam.

This should convince people

Submitted by jon_torlin on Fri, 07/01/2011 - 7:41am.

This segment needs to be viewed by as many as possible far and wide, even if Fox News has to show it.  It's proof positive that the WH is trying to pull the strings behind the scenes.

And this should be in conjunction with the part where they were getting their text messages from the WH as well.

This country is in massive danger of being turned into a fascist state(practically one already) and more people need to know these things before they wake up wondering why they got to that state without enough warning from their beloved mainstream media.(MSM is complicit after all)

I was had a belly laugh when I watched this. Since I hadn't been awake too long, I thought I was hallucinating, but realized that Mika was serious. Sachs did say that he had voted for Obama, but was disappointed in his leadership since he took office. Perhaps, "Morning Joe" needs to do like Jose Baes is doing in the Casey Anthony trial and get depositions from guests BEFORE they come on the show, so that Mika and Joe know that they'll be supporters of Obama. After Mark Halperin's comment, it's obvious that Obama needs a "supporter."

admittance

Submitted by jon_torlin on Fri, 07/01/2011 - 9:41am.

That was disturbing on so many levels when I heard that Carney admitted to calling PMSNBC.  The more they are coming out of the closet (hiding the true fact of their intentions originally) and not even trying to hide anymore what they want to do and how, the more worrisome this mess gets.

This is another sign of a dictator coming into being, when they go so far to say "I don't need Congress" and start enacting directives as if they were law (DREAM for example), or ignoring his battlefield generals such as the pullout of Afghanistan and on and on, we're seeing a repeat of dictators of other countries in how they asserted their control little by little.  Chavez comes to mind when he changed things in Venezuela, may he rot in hell when the cancer becomes uncontrollable.

We're heading down the road to perdition if something isn't done by Congress to stop this guy because if he isn't stopped in his tracks, even the Dems are in danger, why don't they understand that? (Kucinich does understand that, but he's being called out as a loon)

one example

Submitted by jon_torlin on Fri, 07/01/2011 - 10:13am.

One example comes to mind is the Patriot Act and how people claimed that everyone and I mean EVERYONE in the country was being eavesdropped on the phone and they were calling him call kinds of names and etc.  Did Bush ever actually break the law?  To be honest, I don't know that he did, but as far as I know, he didn't.  The reason I give the answer like that is because all the stuff that the bogus potus with the totus is doing was so "in your face" blatant that he didn't even try to hide it and at times tried to mess with the spirit of the law (such as "no hostilities in Libya").

So for all the stuff that the MSM was projecting on to Bush but never happened, it's happening now on this bogus administration and as you said, "nope, not now" would be the response of the MSM.

And the fact that so many of the MSM is so complicit with them scares the hell out of me, how could they have such a huge hold on them?  Don't they even realize that if Soetoro gets to where he wants(recently claimed he has 5.5 years to go, whatever THAT means), the MSM will be among the first to go away?  For God's sake, Halperin was made to go away as admitted by Carney and that was in FULL VIEW OF THE PUBLIC!  If that's not a conflict of professional interest, I don't know what the hell it is.

"Just Joking" Joe

Submitted by mom_rox on Fri, 07/01/2011 - 9:17am.

here's the transcript:

Halperin: "Do we have the seven-second delay today? I want to characterize how I thought the President behaved?"

Brzezinski: "We have it. [To producer] We can use it, right?"

Scarborough: "Yeah, sure, come one, take a chance. Have faith."

Brzezinski: "Let's see what happens."

Scarborough: "I'm behind you. You fall down. I'm gonna catch you."

Brzezinski:" And the precedent has been set on the show, so you're good", [referring to his 2008 F-bomb on the air, which resulted in MSNBC instituting the seven second delay].

Halperin: "I thought he was kind of a d--- yesterday."

Scarborough: "Oh my God. Delay that! Delay that! What are you doing? I can't believe you. I was joking! Don't do that! Did we delay that?"

Which means Halperin meant to say this AND meant for the MJ hosts and crew to hear this. Had this been bleeped, the "bleeped word" would not have remained secret for long - too many heard it. very interesting.

They were probably told not to talk about it.  I wouldn't be surprised if someone from the WH said "talk about anything else, not this."

They seem to really have control over MSNBC now.  I mean literally, if a WH spokesman can call them and say "do something about that guy" even though Halperin didn't directly call the Duce a Richard, just that he acted like one, what's to stop them from making calls again?  And considering they once said Fox News is not a real news organization, if they go unchallenged from this, what's to stop the WH from declaring Fox News to go off the air?  Or anyone else?

The MSM just doesn't realize that their livelihood is in danger from the very people they are trying so hard to protect.  They are in a swimming pool filled with pirahnas and think they are swimming with goldfish.
