Sharpton: 'Occupy' Movement Ideally About 'How We Distribute The Wealth In This Country'
Thanks, Reverend Al. Really. Sure, we know that the left is all about the redistribution of wealth rather than its generation. Still, it's instructive to hear a leading lefty say it in such stark terms. As clear a statement of the manifesto since candidate Obama told Joe The Plumber that "spread the wealth around" is the way to go.
On his MSNBC show this evening, Sharpton declared that his view of the Occupy Wall Street movement is that it should be about "really, how we distribute the wealth in this country." View video after the jump.
Reliably left-wing professor Melissa Harris-Perry was there to second Al's emotion: "that would be the exciting possibility to emerge from this," she enthused.
I'll be back with the transcript, but in the meantime, watch Sharpton expose the real socialist agenda behind OWS.

Imagine that you are a black parent that wants your child to have a good life. Would you rather that they follow the path of Al Sharpton or the path of Herman Cain.
This is not a fair contest of ideas, demeanor or results. Al and the progressives can talk all they want. If Herman Cain is the nominee, MSNBC is going to sound even more ridiculous than they do now.

And don't forget -- the dims, including o'bama, are now supporting and promoting this lunacy. I can only hope the real goals of this "movement" are stated loudly and clearly for everyone to hear. And then -- I want the Repub candidates to shine a light on it in clear enough words that everybody can understand.
BTW, a little off-topic, but did anyone notice what Romney said at the Citadel on Friday? "I will not surrender America’s role in the world. This is very simple: If you do not want America to be the strongest nation on Earth, I am not your President. You have that President today." I'm beginning to warm to this guy.

Redistributing wealth? How'd that work out last time?
Sept. 17, 2007 – about 3:18 into the interview.
No, it was not a good idea - it was a lousy idea, President Obama.
Recent history tells us it was not a good idea; this idea of redistributing wealth by ordering that lending standards be lowered to linoleum level, and regulating that tens of millions of lower income minorities be swarmed by community outreach organizers trying to push them into moving out of their safe haven - rental housing - into purchasing a home for the first time, without having to legitimately qualify financially as all have been required to do before you.

Second, How does this idiot continue being placed on the airwaves of a for-profit company like CNN?

You work for it, you schmuck. You don't sit on your a$$ and complain about not enough free stuff, you don't stand around and beat the drum. You get up and work.
For the rotten job and the poor statistics you have, you shouldn't make over minimum wage, because that is all the job you do. As someone said above, lay yours out on the table, Al. There is only one place to which I OWE my money, and that is to Our Father Who Art in Heaven. Not to you and your band of losers. Jesus told us that "the poor will be with us always". I think that includes the poor in attitude such as yourself.

I think we need to step back and thank Rev Sharpton for doing his part to preach the gospel of the church.
What church?
The church of the government. The progressives have created their own religion using all the structure of the Christian church only they have stripped out the God and Jesus references and replaced them with Alinsky and Piven. Think of it as protestant socialism. The perfect merger of church and state that Jefferson warned us about.
Just like Hitler recreated the church in his own image. Positive christianity in Germany replaced images of Jesus with Hitler and the cross with the Swastika. It stripped out all reference to the Jews and turned Jesus into a Nordic savior.
Rev Al is a good footsoldier for the church of the government. Preaching dependence, forced redistribution and total reliance on government programs. Don't get angry, learn from the preachers of the government. Read their own words.
Creating more unemployment, stealing from the rich while enriching themselves as "middle-men". You will never change their minds and they will never listen until we vote in 2012.
If you want to shrink government, you need to unplug the progressive "church" from the "state".

of wealth going on for the last 30 years, more aggressively over the last 10, in case you missed it. The transfer has been from the middle class and the poor to the top 5 percent of the country with the most wealth being transferred to the top 1%. Ironic to hear the mouthpieces for those filthy rich transferees of wealth co-opting people, who are the transferors, into supporting the extreme concentration of wealth created on their backs, and, at the same time, causing us to resist any efforts aimed at redressing that wealth transfer to our benefit. Comical.
Bill O'Reilly makes $4,000,000 a year and speaks for our interests? Or the Koch brothers and Rupert, who are worth billions, have the same interests as you and me? Yea, we are not gonna allow that socialist to transfer any wealth from guys like us to those lazy, working class Americans. Oh wait, we're not guys like them, are we?

More like 98 years, after the creation of the FED
Submitted by antiObamunist on Tue, 10/11/2011 - 12:44am.
In case you haven't noticed, the private FED monopoly has been usurping the wealth from the American people through interest on the national debt , fractional reserve banking, inflation and depression. They wield their undue interest in govt. and corporate sectors and the people are just along for the ride. In fact, if their was no debt in this type of monetary system there would be no money at all.
Instead of fomenting envy of others wealth, we should strive to change the system from the fascist monopoly this country has become, back to a constitutional republic as it was designed. The three most important responsibilities given the federal government under the constitution were to protect the national borders, provide for the common DEFENSE(not offense) and to provide the currency through the lawful creation of money. Fail, fail and fail. What do they say about three strikes?
I also note that you would choose O'Reilly, the Koch brothers and Rupert Murdoch as your villains. I suppose you would rather use Dan Rather, George Sorros and Jeffery Immelt as your heros, but I suspect you may misunderstand my point that they are all pawns of the system and WE are the victims. I just prefer to use the party more suited and inclined to represent my predilection to work hard, provide for my family and at least a chance to succeed beyond government handouts. Marxist ideology, victim politics or the inevitable tyranny and anarchy to where they lead are not my cup of TEA PARTY.
Speaking only for myself.

I would rather die than become a member of your "we" classification. You are envious of others wealth. I am not. As long as "they" don't steal from me or force me to labor for "them", or force me to buy "their" product or service, I couldn't care less about what "they" earn or own. This applies to everyone from the penniless to the greediest of the "filthy" rich as you would say. I may or may not be at the same level of wealth as you but I am nothing like you or ever wish to be, so don't include me in your we.
It is people like you and the other power-hungry, "let's take what we want" crowd that I scorn. The Bill Gates' of the world don't send a chill up my spine. The Barak Obamas' do. One tempts me to buy what he has to offer. If left unchecked, the other demands it.

Well, you (the government) didn't do anything to get the wealth so you have no authority (theoretically) to distribute it how you think.
i find it interesting...
Submitted by i was just thinking on Mon, 10/10/2011 - 11:35pm.
... this whole concept of the the government redistributing wealth. In order to distribute something that you don't own, you must first take it away from someone else. So, this would mean that the government sees all of our money as its own, to do with as they please. At what point does the government decide it has taken enough? What happens when they take all they can from the richest and give it to those who pay nothing in taxes? Where do they turn next? They have to move a little further down the income scale.
These bleeding hearts don't seem to realize that if they government can take money from the rich and give it away, they can take it from anyone. And why do I have trouble believing that all of those rich Democrat Congressmen and politicians will gladly give away more of their money? Obama, Pelosi, Boxer, Shumer, Rangel, Reid... they're rich. Why don't they lead by example and start redistributing their own wealth? As our president has said, they don't need all of that money to live on.
I know, no original thoughts here... just feeling the need to vent. I just don't understand how people can be so blind and/or stupid.
by the way... about "Reverend" Al...

... why is it that liberals who always yelp about "separation of church and state" seem to have no problem with calling Sharpton or Jackson "Reverend" as those two spout their political views?
My thought on this
Submitted by jon_torlin on Tue, 10/11/2011 - 9:50am.
Believe me, I would like to have more money than I have these days, but one thing is for sure. I don't want someone else's money.(Like Karma says above) I didn't earn it, I didn't make it, I sure as hell don't deserve it otherwise.
Given that "redistribution of wealth" is something that doesn't happen in a free country(and this is a war currently going on between the haves, the have-nots, and the gimmie-thats), if I had a choice between having more money versus being free, I'll take free any day of the week.
I will never bow down to that form of slavery.
