MSNBC Republican: Scarborough Wants to 'Write a Campaign Check' to Bob Kerrey

Photo of Mark Finkelstein.

Joe Scarborough: MSNBC's kind of Republican. The sort who not only tells a Democrat he's "very badly" needed in Washington. Who not merely expresses the desire to write him a campaign check. But who even volunteers [tongue-in-cheek, one would hope] to do illegal check-bundling for him a la Norman Hsu.

After recently putting in an embarrassingly sycophantish performance when interviewing Hillary Clinton, Scarborough was back ingratiating himself with another Dem today. Interviewing former Nebraska senator Bob Kerrey on "Morning Joe," talk inevitably turned to the possibility of Kerrey seeking a Senate seat again. Scarborough waxed wildly enthusiastic.

JOE SCARBOROUGH: We need you in Washington very badly, and I say that as a Republican who would probably -- boy am I going to get into trouble because probably one my friends is going to run against him -- would like to write you a campaign check, if I can do that.

BOB KERREY: Now I know why I always say yes to come on your show.

SCARBOROUGH: I'm actually told I can't do that. But my wife is a really big fan. I'll give you my address afterwards. And I've got a couple of cousins, and as we always say in northwest Florida, you've got a lot of fans who are huntin' dogs, too. So I'm the bundler for Bob Kerrey.

NOTE: If queried, I'm guessing Scarborough would defend his position on the theory that Kerrey is a "moderate" Dem. Nuh-uh. His American Conservative Union rating from his last time in the Senate? 7%! That's 73 points lower than Chuck Hagel's rating. Thirty-points more liberal than even super-ex-RINO Lincoln Chaffee!

Joke of the day? Joe? A

Joke of the day? Joe? A Republican? Come on now. Bet he is also looking to sell the Golden Gate Bridge.

Save a SeAL, club a liberal!!

I guess that makes me a

I guess that makes me a democrat that supports Bush and Cheney wholeheartedly...

Republican in Drag

I am sick and tired of this beady-eyed moron being touted as a 'republican'. This is like calling Osama an amateur real estate developer in Manhattan.

Nobody, I repeat nobody under the MSDNC umbrella is anything more than a fee-free mouthpiece for the democrat party.

Captain... Beady-eyed is

Captain...

Beady-eyed is right! (I keep forgetting to insert that when I comment on the rat).

I saw his back and forth with ol' bobble-head Hillary Jr. Mika this morning about Blackwater...I was surprised he was coming out of his repub shell for a few minutes and defending them, bringing up some of the problems with the leadership in Iraq ect.

Didn't last too long after they had Sen.Webb on.

Mika is worried because nobody likes us internationally too....

I started crying I felt so awful....

LOL

What was Scarborough's

What was Scarborough's reputation in the House? Hardcore conservative or occasional renegade? Is there any history to explain his "moderation" other than political contamination at MSNBC?

The Liberal "Club"

Did you catch Willy G. look over at Mika B. for her permission to respond to Joe's question this morning regarding Maureen Dowd's column? These folks need (and WANT) to belong to the "club" -- Joe knows who butters his bread and boy-oh-boy does he like the bread now -- they've coopted his soul.

Sounds like Joe is

Sounds like Joe is intoxicated with TV and suffers from the "I want to be accepted" syndrome. Even to the point of selling his Republican soul.

Scarborough probably knows

Scarborough probably knows his talent isn't enough to make him last at MSNBC. He has none. The man is stiff and halting on camera and not at home at all. He must know his only selling point is as the conservative turned fairly liberal. His occasional slides onto the conservative side are just his way of reminding people that he was once a conservative - it gives him "credibility" as a critic...

Scarborough........WHAT ARE YOU HIDING?

I will repeat STOLEN FBI FILES.

You will remember Scab was a member of Congress and the FBI kept files on all Congressional people which dame Hillary stole.

As Mr. Finkelstein, you know that Pole Joe and Bubbles read your Newsbuster's postings, is it not time to start asking the hard questions here of, "Just why is it Hillary gets all these softball interviews and ties them into the fact she has stolen FBI files on all of these people...........and might that not be a J. Edgar Hoover type blackmail of "understanding" going on?"

No one is asking these questions Mr. Finkelstein and just perhaps if this story gets pressed, asked and lights a big enough fire under Pole Joe that maybe to prove they are not being blackmailed one of these puppies following mama Hillary panting like lap dogs might just start asking the real questions of her.

I will repeat..........FACT Hillary stole FBI files on EVERYONE in CONGRESS and probably media files. These same files caused Republicans in the Senate to drop the impeachment trial. These same files have caused no one to lay a finger on Hillary.

Ok Pole Joe.......prove you are not a blackmailed coward and ask the hard questions........or like Larry Craig at least expose yourself and let the truth come out to set you free.

What are you hiding Joe Scarborough????????

Scarborough may, in fact, really be a republican.

But he is certainly no conservative.

I think sometimes people confuse the two. Given the basically sorry overall voting record of the "republicans," particularly over the last six years they were running the show in congress and essentially doubling the size and scope of the federal government, I am not sure calling oneself "republican" is really all that much different than "democrat."

When I'm president, privatization is off the table because it's not the answer to anything.

You might just be a Republican

If you dislike evil dictators like Hussein, Castro, and Chavez instead of celebrating them, you may be a Republican

If you correctly believe that climate change has already been happening for millions of years, you may be a Republican

If you spend Veterans Day at the cemetary instead of jogging around the lake, you may be a Republican

If you own American flags, you may be a Republican

If your American flags have never been burned - you may be a Republican

etc, etc

Really a Republican

... a Republican who backs a Democrat for President is not much of a Republican.

I miss the Reagan Democrats

I miss the Reagan Democrats - now those were Republicans...

Perfect Republicans

It is funny how NBC and the MSM always come up with these perfect Republicans:  David Gergen, Pat Buchanan, Joe Scarborough.

The first two are at least consistent in their beliefs. Once cannot be that generous about Scarborough.

Only one word to describe Scarborough

Phony.

Any man who is under 30, and is not a liberal, has not heart; and any
man who is over 30, and is not a conservative, has no brains.
