On Monday’s CBS Early Show, co-host Julie Chen introduced a new campaign segment: "...throughout this morning, we're bringing you the voices of Americans and what they're thinking as they prepare to vote." In the brief video clip that followed, Colorado Springs City Council member Jan Martin Described herself as a "lifelong Republican" explained: "I think we are at a place and a point in time where hope and unity are two things that this country needs more than anything."
The only problem is that Jan Martin was similarly touted by the New York Times in early October, at which point, NewsBusters’ P.J. Gladnick discovered that she was a member of the Colorado Springs chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union and Colorado’s Gay and Lesbian Fund. In the Early Show segment Martin worried: " There's an uncertainty of what it will mean to my future political career, but I really believe that this election was too important not to -- not to take a stand."
In the 8AM half hour, co-host Maggie Rodriguez introduced a video clip of a McCain supporter: "We heard from a voter who supports Barack Obama. Now how a McCain supporter feels about this election." However, voter Amy Myers did not exactly give McCain unequivocal support: "We checked into both candidates’ tax plans and had realized that we would be saving three times as much in Obama's versus the McCain tax plan. The difference in the tax plans is not enough to change my vote. I feel that McCain, for me, is the proper candidate."

top MSM-BS strategies:
- the lifelong repub supporting (insert liberal scam here)

- print (R-wherever) as much as humanly possible for major humongous gargantuan Republican scandals (such as Larry Craig taking a dump)
- never print (D-wherever) except for annual nobel prize announcements
- Republican concerns are always "an attack"
- Dem attacks are always "serious concerns" and always go STRAIGHT TO THE TOP!!!
- Repub efforts ARE ONLY FOR RICH WHITE BACKWOODS REDNECK EVANGELICAL HOMOPHOBES
- Repub evidence must be ignored
- Dem evidence is not required - we can make up anything we need

My pseudo-liberal brother
November 3, 2008 - 17:16 ET by Chris NormanMy pseudo-liberal brother (who I've concluded isn't all that liberal - he just identifies with liberals because he thinks it conveys an intellectual and sophisticated aura on him) just tried to explain to me why he thinks Obama will govern from the center. I asked him what in Obama's writings or record made him come to that delusional conclusion. He "thinks" (no he doesn't) that it will be necessary for Obama to get anything accomplished. I pointed out Obama will probably have a filibuster-proof congress that, if anything, will pull him further to the left. And on and on it went like that. I bet him a thousand bucks that nothing about Obama's administration will be "centrist" - how that's measured, I don't know - it's not like we can rely on the media to label it as leftist.

November 3, 2008 - 17:33 ET by bigtimerChris...
Good luck...I have been in a terrible discussion with my son last night about Obama/socialism ect...
I am so disgusted...
We could no longer talk...which I didn't get to that much anyway...he interrupted constantly when I tried...hmmm...remeind anyone of how all the left acts...I emailed him a long letter and some links about Obama and the truth, just hope he really watches and opens his mind...he is no kid, he is 35...I have tip-toed around a few relatives and most importantly my son until last night...I cannot take it anymore.
I hope God watches over this country...we are really going to need it now more than ever...for Obama to get his eyes on our top secrets here/worldwide, scares me to death with the consequences...plus the leftist Congress goes without saying...I pray more than anything there is an upset tomorrow night and the msm shuts the hell up, they are acting like this over more than ever today.

November 3, 2008 - 17:57 ET by Chris NormanFrustrating, ain't it? My brother asked me how the conservatives would react to Obama as president. I smiled and replied, "I'm sure that conservatives will give Obama all the respect and support that the liberals gave George W Bush".
McNotObama '08
Chris... ...frustration
November 3, 2008 - 18:18 ET by bigtimerChris...
...frustration and heartbreaking for me... anyhow...you answer is an exceptional answer... I am going to remember it if I need to, but you know what...unfortunately, they will just say whatever do you mean by that? I don't know what you are talking about....blah blah blah...
My son has been around his dad and the brain dead side of the family politically much too long...let alone years at BSU.
Plus I know what he gets via TV and what he likes politically on the internet...The Onion....as far as I know it is just PBS, he only gets television via the antennae same as his dad, which would be fine if they would, especially him, via PC would dig a little deeper into who they are voting for and why...
I asked my ex this morning and my son last night why they were voting for him...it is ...just because.... I said just because what...Hope and Change...change and hope? for me, I knew how his dad was politically, but I have been trying to get him to see the light little by little for years now about the right side of the aisle, our Constitution, what our Forefathers fought and died for, ect ect ect...including plenty o my side of the family too who fought and died for our freedoms we have now...that Obama and the left have worked on for years to destroy...
...oh well...enough about my family saga...hope springs eternal with my son...I will keep chipping away, but he is a typical liberal and makes me feel bad if I dare to talk about any opposing views and says he will not talk about it, which is rare anyway...blah blah blah...
I wished he had a family and had encountered more responsibilities a lot of years ago...he may understand a lot more if he did.

November 3, 2008 - 18:20 ET by Prester JohnMy wife is a yellow dog Democrat (coal miner's daughter) and was going to vote for McCain until he picked Palin for VP. Now it looks like she's voting for BHO. When I point out all the stuff he has said she just says, "He's just pandering, just like all politicians". Then she asks, "Aren't you going to give him a chance?" I replied, "I'm going to give him as much of a chance as the Dems gave Bush".
She didn't have anything to say to that.

Delusion just like in 06
November 3, 2008 - 18:57 ET by TexasOptimistI remember the delusion of so many right-wingers back in 06. The polls were all wrong, they said. The GOP wouldn't lose the House and Senate. It just couldn't happen... but it did.
I see the same delusion this time. The polls are misleading, I hear. McCain has a chance, they say.
Get your heads out of your *****. Look around, see all of the "Republicans for Obama" signs. There are TONS of them in my neighborhood. McCain is perhaps even going to lose in his HOME STATE.
McCain/Palin and the GOP will lose big time. Even the Republicans are jumping ship. I know I am.

November 3, 2008 - 22:02 ET by KarmaI registered and voted as a democrat for many years. Over time, I realized who they really are and now expose and reject their ideology like the cancer it is. Don't get me wrong, I have more friends and family who register and vote as democrats and they are people of good character. The problem is they were raised as democrats and don't really take the time to look deeper into the ideology. That is changing, and very quickly. Most democrats I know, are voting Palin tomorrow. Will it make a difference? Maybe not this time around, but it definitely will very soon.
