MSNBC Tees Up Ron Howard, Jane Lynch to Lend Support to Obama Tax Hike
MSNBC daytime anchor Craig Melvin took minor detours in interviews this afternoon with director Ron Howard and actress Jane Lynch to ask both celebrities to weigh in on President Obama's push for higher taxes on upper income earners.
Both of them are liberals who support Obama and have given to Democrats in the past, so their answers were hardly surprising.

Howard was on MSNBC at the noon Eastern hour to talk about a new PSA he'd directed for the Boys and Girls Clubs of America while Lynch followed shortly thereafter to discuss her new memoir, "Happy Accidents."
Below you'll find screen captures from OpenSecrets.org detailing recent political contributions from Howard and Lynch respectively:

Ron Howard engages in charity work. You'd think he'd like to keep more of his money to give to causes he chooses? But who am I kidding. Ok Ron, you can mail your check here if you really feel the Government can do better. Why bother waiting for legislation. Just do it!
hay Doopy Opie, JFK HUGE tax CUTS kept your show on TV.

The Kennedy tax cuts
President Hoover dramatically increased tax rates in the 1930s and President Roosevelt compounded the damage by pushing marginal tax rates to more than 90 percent. Recognizing that high tax rates were hindering the economy, President Kennedy proposed across-the-board tax rate reductions that reduced the top tax rate from more than 90 percent down to 70 percent. What happened? Tax revenues climbed from $94 billion in 1961 to $153 billion in 1968, an increase of 62 percent (33 percent after adjusting for inflation).
You Didn't Build That.

Great.
I have a wonderful idea have to give the people in hollywood a way to pay the government more and to also help out with high school acting, band and music classes and to reduce the costs of watching videos or buying CDs.
Let us take the copyright laws and change them. Copyright laws are complicated but the copyright protection Mr. Howard gets on one of his movies is very long period of time. As best I can determine somewhere in the range of 70 years to 95 years. We need to reduce the length of a copyright to 5 years. We would then give Mr. Howard the right to extend the copyright for an additional 25 years but only if he pays us (we the people) 75% of what he makes off the product. That money could go to reduce the national debt or to fund high school acting, music and band related classes and tools. We could do that all those "creative" types in Hollywood. The side effect of this is that really wouldn't have all that money to toss at democrats any more. The government would rake in billions per year.
The people are happy as entertainment got cheaper. The government is happy as it has a new revenue source. Mr. Howard is happy because he is paying more and it is fair and equal to him because all his collegues will be treated the same. I am happy because I see a way to reduce ability of Hollywood to buy influence with the government.
WIN WIN WIN WIN

Ron Howard and actress Jane Lynch are nicely cashing in on TAX BREAKS specificly lobbied for the film industry in California and other states.
These two hollywood elitists DEMAND tax breaks for their particular industry while claiming they care about the country so much they want OTHER PEOPLE to PAY MORE TAXES!
They are both TOTAL LIARS AND FRAUDS!
Ted Turner doesn't seem anxious to pay more taxes

I always loved the Andy Griffith Show but for some strange reason at the age of five I still called Opie, Dopey. I learned many years back that even though Opie and I are about the same age we have totally different upbringings so I o know why he impressed me that way. It's a shame to say but he really didn't get the raising that Sheriff Taylor tried to give him on TV. It was all a lie and fantasy which is the world he and they live in and try to push on We The People.

In between the uh's & other non words, there's a lot of depth there. Ronald Reagan said the Actors quit working when they got to the 90% tax income, but Opie was a little too young then to notice, eh?
Wow, this

Wow, this closing-the-deficit-thing is going to be so much easier than we thought when all these anti-capitalist celebrities line up to donate the bulk of their income to the federal government. That's what I call tax reform!:)
Ron Howard's Movies Do Not Make Enough Money Under Taxes
Submitted by Avitar on Wed, 09/21/2011 - 9:48pm.
Movie making is risky. You loose often before finding a pay out. If the payout is taxed more then the investors that finance movies just will not finance as many movies. This may be what Ron Howard is after. Cut down the indie compeditors and the growing numbers of future movie makers that are working in video only to learn the craft. You know that some of their efforts will pay off unless something e.g. taxes stop them from working in the profession.
As somebody who like the straight forward but expensive to shoot "Eureka" and other shows that do not appeal to the drama queens in show business I want those extra movie makers.
These actors are stupid, why

These actors are stupid, why do their opinions matter?
Gosh, Opie, you're the greatest!
Submitted by Name on Wed, 09/21/2011 - 11:02pm.
This is so cool! Now that Opie and Jane and the rest of the gang know that the Big O needs more cash for his stash, I'm sure we'll be seeing them all on TV in the near future presenting Bumbles with great big Happy Gilmore sized checks! Heck, if thirteen or fourteen of them each kick in that extra hundred grand they got sitting on the kitchen counter, that ought to about balance the old budget right there! Right? (What? How many zeroes are there behind the one on a trillion? You're kidding!) Maybe this won't balance anything, but it will sure help pay for a couple more vacations!
Life is strange.

Jay Carney grew up (I think) looking more like Opie Taylor than Ron Howard did.

One grew up to be an annoying actor, the other grew up to be an even more annoying actor. Take your pick as to which is which, or which is witch.
