WaPo Devotes 880 Words to First Lady/Wal-Mart Partnership, Zilch to After-dark Protest, Crosshairs Flyer by Anti-Wal-Mart Group
Last Wednesday I wrote about a left-wing anti-Wal-Mart group in Washington, D.C. that published a flyer depicting a crosshairs on the Wal-Mart smiley face icon and called for a "march on the developer's house" in Northwest D.C. after dark on Thursday the 20th.
[That flyer has since been scrubbed from the WalMartFreeDC.org website, but you can see a screen capture of it below the page break]
Various news agencies have covered the story, including the Washington Examiner, which sent a correspondent to cover the protest march.
Only about 25 people showed up at the protest, so it's not precisely front-page news, but a search of Nexis found not even a blurb about the event or the decidedly uncivil and race-baiting rhetoric the group's website espouses in a rap song that warns that Wal-Mart has a "plantation mentality" that "results in black and brown casualties."

Yet on Friday the Post did have room for a gauzy piece on a partnership Wal-Mart has forged with First Lady Michelle Obama with a page A12 880-word story*, "Wal-Mart joins first lady's healthful food campaign."
*The online headline is different than the print headline, reading, "Michelle Obama, Wal-Mart partner on healthy foods program."

Thank you for posting this today.
It is more logical to assume this crosshairs flyer is connected to the shootings at a Washington State WalMart last night than it is logical to say the Tea Party is in any way involved in forming the hatred of Jared Loughner.
No mention of the shooting

No mention of the shooting that took place at the Port Orchard, WA Walmart yesterday? The media isn't blaming the "angry rhetoric"?

Going to a private citizens home after dark!!? What kind of hateful world has obama brought us to?
The only thing missing in this 'protest' is a fiery cross burning on the person's front lawn.

The only reason to protest at a private home after dark is to frighten and intimidate the whole family, to make them afraid in their own home. This is domestic terrorism by any definition. I guess the democrats are still in touch with their Southern roots.

These losers prefer burning the American flag, so we know exactly where they're coming from.....the Obama socialist regime.

It's very sad how the Obama's continue to bring their very own style of kitschy, mixed with banana republic ( not the store in the mall ) to America a bit more with each passing day.
They cheapen everything they've touched in America to the point it's hard to figure out if they will kill the country thru sheer embarrassment or by firing squad.
Meanwhile back in the real world, the lame street media just keeps on spinning, covering up the truth and lying directly to the faces of the American people.

Did the Newsbusters who were assigned to watch Olberman get reassigned to count words in WP Articles for you??? :) :)

The Nexis database does the word count for us. Either that or you copy and paste the whole text of the article in MS Word and do a word count and then subtract headlines and other text that's not part of the body of the story.
Then count every other word

Then count every other word and add up the total of each word which then is inserted in the enigma machine. It then prints out the message Drink more Ovaltine.

What do you mean 25 people showing up are not worthy of front page coverage? Wasn't that long ago that less than 25 people would show up at a Coffee Party meeting and it got 2 days of coverage at CNN. I think it has more to do with the media realizing this thing started out on the wrong foot, the flyer, and included the wrong people. If they reported it as customary they would have been lambasted by the blogs. I hate to say this but, they may actually be thinking of consequences here. 'Course, I could be wrong. When has the LSM ever thought that far ahead?
