Anti-Wal-Mart Leftists Literally Target D.C. Developer's Home with Crosshairs Flyer

By Ken Shepherd | January 19, 2011 | 12:00

A  A
Ken Shepherd's picture

Apparently the folks at WalMartFreeDC.org didn't get the memo from the liberal media about crosshairs being verboten in political speech.

[Related story at TheBlaze.com has more information]

The website for Wal-Mart Free DC prominently features the Wal-Mart smiley-face icon at the center of crosshairs in an advertisement for a "March on the Developer's House" in Northwest D.C. tomorrow at 7:30 p.m.

A march on a person's private residence after dark. A civil affair to be sure.

What's more, the Wal-Mart Free DC website auto-plays a song by rap artist Head-Roc that accuses the discount retailer of a "plantation mentality":

Wal-Mart is not good for Chocolate City
[...]
Overseeing plantation mentality
Results in black and brown casualties
Statehood opposition for the District
Has been supported by Wal-Mart's mischief
The D.C. Voting Rights Act was defeated
Assisted [by] the Wal-Mart PAC
And now they want to come here to see their money stacks
Stay up on the facts
Chocolate City, don't relax and fight back

Chocolate City needs to be defunded in order to get rid of the Plantation. Welfare money is the chain that keeps the black man down. Cut the Federal Government by 90%, and Washington turns into a ghost town, the way it needs to be.....

No taxation without representation they gripe.

Fair point. Let's make DC a federal income tax free zone.

These idiot Anti-Wal-Mart goons will be the same ones...

Submitted by Dave. on Wed, 01/19/2011 - 12:26pm.

...that will be marching to-and-fro six months from now, repeating some mindless slogan that will be undoubtedly written by a functionally illiterate, government-educated 6th grader, bitching and moaning about the lack of available jobs in their area.

I've seen that happen right here in Atlanta, and more than once, too.

These people will cut off their noses to spite their faces, then complain about the end result.

Ken, can you shrink the poster down and re-post it, because the fools sponsoring this "civil" response to Wal-Mart are saying there was no community involvement, when, in fact, they found out about the pending deal from the Ward 4 community meeting.  The full poster is available at This Ain't Hell.

Also, the Blockbuster across the street from the abandoned Chevy dealer closed, WRMC is moving, so this area will be left with no jobs, but that's what liberals want, a totally dependent citizenry.

To re-elect Obama would be like the Titanic backing up and hitting the iceberg again.

Another perfect example

Submitted by MissMinPhx on Wed, 01/19/2011 - 3:53pm.

of how the left hates poor people. Sure, they talk a good game, but in the end, it is the left who will deny the poor the things that will improve their situation - jobs, low cost prescriptions, low cost fuel (if this WalMart has a gas station attached) and lower priced consumer goods that allow residents to save money on food, clothing, socks, etc. Study after study shows that when WalMart goes into a town with a supercenter, the amount consumers spend on essentials goes down. With the money they save, they tend to spend at other local establishments - restaurants and local retailers. In my former hometown, the town benefited greatly from Walmart -- the store's gross receipts tax payments were a huge boon to town coffers, the store donated heavily to the hospital, schools and civic groups and many local retailers learned how to prosper by offering things that Walmart does not offer, such as high-end bike sales and rentals, sporting equipment, handmade stationary, the list goes on. Even the town butcher did well. Walmart was a good neighbor for the town. Those who try to keep it out, obviously do not want to see the lives of poor people improve.

Snobbery

Hypocrisy Can Be Funny

Talk about bald faced, in-your-face hypocrisy! It's insane. These people don't care because they are unable to care. This is not good for those democrats who are still in touch with reality, who realize they've still got a public relations issue to deal with. But it's a hoot and a half for us.

MEAN OLD WALMART

Submitted by Herbster on Wed, 01/19/2011 - 5:19pm.

Of course the "Chocolate City" hates Walmart.  (Is Ray Nagin behind this?)  Walmart means JOBS!  JOBS means getting off the dole.  The obama lovers must be kept on the plantation and thrown a bone at election time.  Democrats = broken lives and broken homes.  Sad.  When these animals march at night, will they be singing an ode to obama?  Will they be waring brown shirts?  I guess this group of imbeciles is what obama referred to as a "Civilian army?"  Does John (The wimp) King know about the crosshairs sign?  Will he demand an apology?  Oh, the humanity.

Hypocrite

Submitted by Unsane on Wed, 01/19/2011 - 11:43pm.

By you calling Wal-Mart a "monster" you show you own hatred of successful corporations.  Me, i'm happy this evil corporation exists and gives me options for buying things.

It is so funny how your true colors are coming out.  On one of your first threads, you endlessly whined about divisiveness and why America wasn't united.  And here you are, showing how pissed off you are at successful Americans, and how eager you are to declare war on the successful.  You hypocrite.

Confusion on your part

Submitted by One on Thu, 01/20/2011 - 1:23pm.

Monster was used to portray a corporation of "monstrous" size.  Do you deny Walmart is monstrous in size?  Do you believe residents should have a say in the types of businesses that move into town?  Do you believe in the right to protest?  When a strip club opens up, are there not protests?

Do you not love our freedoms?

Note your connotations

Submitted by Unsane on Thu, 01/20/2011 - 10:03pm.

"Monster" has a negative connotation.  You could have just as easily said "large", or other such terms, but you chose "monster" for the negative connotation.

The rest of your blather are just strawmen. You need to admit that you are enraged that Wal-Mart exists, and that you are a hypocrite.  Protest upsets you.  Americans shouldn't protest, according to you, because we need to be "united".  (Unless of course, said Americans are protesting your sworn enemies, like Wal-Mart and people who think making any sort of profit in the medical world is not the worst thing that can happen.  You wish for total war on them, American or not.)

That last question from YOU, a person who is completely pissed off over the fact that I might POSSIBLY want a CHOICE of places to shop (and who is even more pissed that I can choose whatever doctor I want for whatever reason and have a choice of ways to pay for the doctor's services; you call such a system "broken"), is asinine.

Because Leftists hate Wal-Mart. Not very bright are you?

Submitted by Unsane on Wed, 01/19/2011 - 11:39pm.

Because Leftists like you are overwhelmingly enraged at ANYONE or ANYTHING being remotely successful in this country.

You apparently have been living in a cave or perhaps you are just acting like you have, so let me clue you in: Wal-Mart has been a target of the Left for YEARS?

Why?  Largely because Wal-Mart is successful.  Also, as I point out above, I think a good chunk of it has to do with out and out pure total snobbery.

For the Leftist, One

Submitted by Unsane on Thu, 01/20/2011 - 10:13pm.

The shareholders and board of Wal-Mart don't work?  The CEO of Wal-Mart doesn't work?  The managers at Wal-Mart, at multiple levels, don't work?  REALLY?

I'd like to see examples of these lawsuits.  You think I trust a hate-filled Socialist like you?

Besides, YOU are the one who doesn't like success along with your Leftist ilk.  All you Leftists talk about is punishing achievement and stealing from people through legal means.  Leftists CONSTANTLY target the successful.  If you didn't think that way, you'd support a cut on the corporate tax rate to 17% across the board with zero loopholes or breaks.  Ditto for individuals.  But no.  The only thing I hear from you and your Leftist friends is how we need to punish people who ALREADY pay 99.4% of the freight, and how evil corporations don't pay enough.

I think I'll just continue to shop at the evil Wal-Mart, just to piss you off.  That is, if they cut me a good deal...

Why are they targeting the corporation?  We've had two Walmarts open in my area within the past 10 years in the face of opposition.  The battle is fought at the level of local government.  They should be showing up at local government meetings Walmart goes to with studies showing negative affects of Walmart's, etc.

This is just a witch hunt against a company they don't like.
