FNC’s Beck on Left-Wing Media Tea Party Criticism: 'They Don’t Get It'

Some groups on the left may have it out for anti-tax tea party movement, but according to one of the movement's biggest proponents - it is because they don't understand it from a hierarchical perspective.

Although there are reports that ACORN, The Huffington Post and the Daily Kos wanting to infiltrate the rallies, or crying foul for other reason - Beck, who appeared on Fox News Channel's April 9 "Your World with Neil Cavuto," explained that the left has difficulty understanding it's not a top-down movement, but a bottom-up one.

"It is a fundamental misunderstanding of the left," Beck said. "They don't get it. They think that these tax rallies - because they are so into their ‘.org's and their ACORN movements, where you have to have these coordinators. These are regular people and they are regular people that were hacked off at George W. Bush. They were angry at the spending of the Republicans."

Beck attributed his ratings success - third behind only Fox News Channel's "The O'Reilly Factor" and "Hannity" - to him and his Fox News colleagues understanding people beyond the New York-Washington bubble.

"And so they don't understand, and so it's - you know the ratings success that I'm having right now is not ... it's not anything about me or it's just that nobody else, at least outside of Fox understands what's happening in the rest of the country," Beck explained. "The best thing these liberal media organizations can do is go put their business some place in the center of the country for awhile. Make your reporters live there."

"This is not reality - New York is not the rest of America," Beck added.

Cavuto asked Beck if it bothered him that when a commentator from the left makes a rapid ascension, they get "fawning" press coverage, but Beck's rise, that hasn't been the case.

"No, it must mean that we're saying something right," Beck said. "I think the key on the tea parties I hope that we all remember is we need to model ourselves not after a revolution like the American Revolution, because I believe it would be the French Revolution. We need to model our self after the Civil Rights Revolution in America."

Oh Glenn, you can't be that naive. Kos and ACORN "get it" all right - they're deliberately twisting the facts to make the Tea Party movement look like a Republican Party plot to undermine The Dear Leader.

The "Mainstream" Media: By liberals. For liberals.

Let's ROLL!

Doubling down on stupid is not a particularly good idea. ~Andrew Breitbart

i remember when "let's roll" was a non-partisan rallying cry.

there was once a time when we were all pulling in the same direction.  i wish it could have lasted.

if the republicans could listen to what the tea party rallies are all screaming for, they could go a long way to winning more seats in the house and the senate.  i believe the reason the repubs lost so badly in the last election (and the previous two, for that matter) wasn't because the dems were so much better, but that the gop lost their way and strayed from conservative principles.

swing hard in case you hit it.

You said it all.

Even that "pulling in the

Even that "pulling in the same direction" after 9/11 was fake from the left.  They did it because they *had* to...they knew if they continued their anti-Americanism and expressed the true glee they actually felt after 9/11 that they'd be a fringe party forever.  So they faked it for a few months and then started letting it all out...

Glenn is right, they don't "get it" in terms of *why* we all feel this way, but they get it in terms of realizing they should be scared shitless that this will sweep them out of power as it continues to gain momentum...so they do what they always do...instead of debating the issues, they attack the victim, attack the issue, try to delegitimize it, etc...

Debating issues with the left is like trying to explain nuclear physics to a mentally handicapped chimpanzee (which is about the same level of intellect as your typical leftist)  or a petulant hormonal teenager...impossible...

Neil!

for gosh sakes skip sacramento and come to washington :)

Actually, I would prefer the French Revolution.  But that's just me I guess.

It's not just you C-rex I'm

It's not just you C-rex I'm totally with you I'm sick and tired of these losers, with their anti-american everything. I dont want to reconcile with them I just want to have the fight with them, winner take all and when we win, take their survivors to the nearest coast and tell them to swim to a "better" country of their choice.

CRex...I'm with you

CRex...

I'm with you too...you're not alone.

That's why I posted 'Let's Roll' above.  ;-)

Tea Party

there are reports that ACORN, The Huffington Post and the Daily Kos wanting to infiltrate the rallies

This will backfire in their face.  The Silent minority has slowly awaken.  If the Tea Party's are infiltrated, the next move will be millions marching on Washington!

Silent No More!

IF NOT NOW, WHEN?

IF NOT US, WHO?

I, along with family & friends, will attend my town's Tea Party rally on April 15th!!!!

What every one that runs a

What every one that runs a tea party needs is a camera crew out and about, taping every one showing up in **busses**, and if they cause trouble they can put it on the news..(well I know that most will not cover it, but maybe you can put it on youtube, as proof of who they are, punks and hooligans). They can write down the bus tag # and find out who rented it.

IMO, no matter what happens and no matter how the main stream media covers it. Every A$$ hole in Washington will be looking. Never In my lifetime has this large amount of the people that NEVER protest are doing it. We are &^%$#@ pissed off. And there are lots of us!

We are not going away, and if push comes to shove, I can do just that, push and shove..

That being said, I want a peaceful protest, but if they start, I don’t have a problem holding my own..

I like to think its like when that Westboro Baptist Church came down to protest our fallen solders, there must have been 500+ of us withour flags, and it was only 4 of them.

Ronald Reagan, 1962: I did not leave the Democratic party, the party left me.

Insert: your name, 2008, and the Republican party.

Liberals fear the tea parties...believe it!

They realize that the conservative sleeping giant is finally awake...and angry.  The tea parties are grass roots organizations with November 2010 as our target.  In Dallas we are expecting between 5 and 10 thousand patriots.  We will rid the Republicans of RINOs (the 3Rs) and restore some sense of sanity to Washington and slow down the Obama train wreck.

Don't let the leftists fool you...they recognize this is the first time in modern history that middle-class conservatives have taken to the street.  It's only the start!!

Sacramento could be

Sacramento could be interesting…

The Bluest of Blue States has

1)      an enormous deficit

2)      a recent State budget that increased income tax, vehicle tax, sales tax (my community now pays 9.75% sales tax)

3)      ever-increasing property taxes that have a due date of April 10 (my area has 14 add-ons to the typical ad valorem assessment)

4)      utility user taxes (my community adds an 8% utility tax to every monthly gas/electric, telephone, cell phone bill)

The federal government is a big part of the problem, but only part of the problem for Golden State taxpayers.

If tea party attendance and taxpayer anger is minimal in California…. then it’s too late to save California.  And it may well be, so pay attention Red State America.

Look for me at San Francisco Civic Center tea party next week (haven’t been to a demonstration in 39 years).

this site makes a joke about glenn

i however did not!

I wonder

I wonder what will the reaction be if these Tea Parties are bigger than what we can even hope for?  I took a day off from work to go to the one in Wichita.  I hope the turnout is great everywhere.  Will the media add up the numbers and let the world know how big this day was?

I view this day as one of those in the history of our country that we can be a part of that will hopefully be in the text books in years to come.  That all matters on how many people go out and Tea Party.

I am very excited about next week.  On top of that, I am VERY curious to see how it plays out in the media.  Not just here in the US, but in the world overall.
