The season finale of ABC’s Match Game was a good one, with a special guest and a surprise question I never expected.
The show brought together uber lefty host Alec Baldwin with special guest former Governor Sarah Palin. Baldwin immediately addressed the elephant in the room, saying to Palin, “I'm simply gonna start by asking you what everyone is dying to know — what the hell are you doing here?”
He later said, “Sarah Palin is here because Tina Fey won't return my phone calls.” But Palin was a good sport. They two were actually quite chummy with Baldwin even defending one of her answers, telling the audience, “You can’t boo her!”
The show did put in a question at her expense: “Sarah Palin takes her pets to the best groomer in Alaska. Once a week, they manicure her moose, clip her caribou, and buff her BLANK.” Sarah was a little ticked at the question, but the answers were tame; they were kind and nobody said what the producers were obviously hoping for: “beaver.”
But the part I was most excited about was that Match Game FINALLY had a question about Hillary Clinton after all this time and so many other Republicans getting hit. And it was a really good one.
“Hillary Clinton just opened up a new magic show on the Las Vegas strip. For her final trick, she makes everyone's BLANK disappear.” Somehow nobody answered with the obvious “emails!”
The contestant’s guess was “election ballots” - I like his thinking, Hillary’s worried she won’t get the votes and Democrats love to steal elections.
Jack McBrayer said “pantsuits,” while Leah Remini and Randall Park both answered “Donald Trump.” The best ones were: Sarah Palin said Hillary will make everyone’s “brains” disappear, J.B. Smoove said she makes “cash (Bills)” disappear, and Kristin Chenoweth said she makes men’s “balls” disappear!
No matches for the contestant, but at least I went home happy that Hillary finally got bashed and that Sarah Palin was able to deliver a blow.
