ABC’s Sawyer Trumpets ‘Occupy Igloos’ at ‘Camp Igloo’ in Switzerland

Diane Sawyer remains enthralled with the far-left “Occupy” protesters. Last October she championed “the Occupy Wall Street movement” by ludicrously claiming “it has spread to more than 250 American cities, more than a thousand countries -- every continent but Antarctica.” (There are fewer than 200 nations.)

On Tuesday night, she trumpeted “Occupy igloos” at “Camp Igloo” – in Switzerland, not Antarctica.

Over still shot pictures of a small igloo with an “Occupy WEF” sign draped on it, Sawyer announced on the Tuesday, January 17 World News:

And a picture that caught our eye today. Evidence that Occupy Wall Street campers are about to deploy again. Take a look at this: These are igloos. Occupy igloos. The protesters are getting ready to demonstrate at the world’s fanciest conference, the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland under way next week. And to do it, they are building “Camp Igloo.” We are told it has a working kitchen and ice houses that will sleep up to 50 protesters.

How quaint.

Earlier, with video: “Sawyer’s Flub: Claims Wall Street Protests Have ‘Spread to More Than a Thousand Countries’”

(In a later broadcast she changed her verbiage to this equally ludicrous claim: “It has spread to more than 250 American cities and more than a thousand cities around the world -- every continent but Antarctica.”)

Rather than a biased

Submitted by ThisnThat on Wed, 01/18/2012 - 7:27am.

Rather than a biased "trumpet" for the 1,000 countries, 250 cities, and 57 states, why can't she do some simple "reporting" closer to home, instead? For example, Monday night in Wash, DC. "While the [OWS] rally was mostly peaceful, there were some scuffles between police and protesters along walkways leading to the Capitol. By mid-afternoon Tuesday, four people had been arrested". If Sawyer were an honest reporter, she could simply say: "...and nothing like this has ever happened at a Tea Party rally".

Diane Sawyer

Submitted by NVRAT on Wed, 01/18/2012 - 8:51am.

Worthless, incompetent, Liberal door mat. She will lie about anything and it will only get worse as spring and summer gets closer. I find it amazing that the system that has brought her so far in a capitalistic society she now wants to tear down with irresponsible reporting. I guess she does not understand that all we the people have to do is stop watching her and the Broadcasting Organization she works for and "POOF" she is gone. But, I suppose that there are enough goons, idiots, suckers and socialists that believe the crap she feeds them and that will sustain her for awhile longer. To Bad.

Sleeps 50 protesters

Submitted by cocodrie on Wed, 01/18/2012 - 9:28am.

Let's see, that's 10 rapists, 10 robbers, 10 fugitives, and 10 murder victims. We don't count the murderers because they're out protesting the police presence.

I can't think of anything negative to say about Diane.

Submitted by KyWriter on Wed, 01/18/2012 - 10:20am.

But I can't think of anything positive either. Just looking at her freezes my brain cells into inactivity; if I read anything she says I become nearly catatonic.

The cold will not stop the pathogens.

Submitted by drsamherman on Wed, 01/18/2012 - 11:02am.

The rats, lice, tuberculosis, STDs and the protesters themselves will not stop for the cold. Of course, there will be the 1%ers who claim to side with the OWS frozen bowel movement who will be staying the luxury ski lodge down the road and just showing up for photo opps.

what constitutes a "working kitchen" to OWS types--a case of sardine cans and a can opener?

You're missing an essential ingrediant:

Submitted by ThisnThat on Wed, 01/18/2012 - 1:02pm.

A Government program to train someone how to open the cans -- supported by a promise to hire said people at a "living wage" and full benefits. Paid for by the filthy and unfair rich, of course.

Geez, the government already gives them FREE heroin. How much better can it get than that?

What's that? Legalize pot? No, they rejected that.

And Sawyer is way past her expiration date.
