Network Journalists Advance Leftist Wish to Blame Palin (and Tea Party) for Shooting

“The shooter’s motivation is still unknown,” Katie Couric announced as she anchored Saturday’s CBS Evening News, but that didn’t deter CBS, nor CNN, NBC and ABC on Saturday night and into Sunday morning from forwarding attempts to blame Sarah Palin and, by implication, the Tea Party, for the Tucson shooting.

“Giffords was one of 20 Democrats whose districts were lit up in cross hairs on a Sarah Palin campaign Web site last spring,” CBS’s Nancy Cordes declared in referring to a political map, adding that “Giffords and many others complained that someone unstable might act on that imagery.” Hours later on CNN, Jessica Yellin noted “we don't know the motive” before she proceeded to raise how “on Twitter and Facebook, there is a lot of talk, in particular, about Sarah Palin.” On Sunday’s Today, leading into a clip about Palin, NBC’s Kelly O’Donnell asserted: “Giffords, a conservative Democrat, was concerned about heated campaign rhetoric from the Tea Party.”

ABC connected Palin to the Wild West, as David Wright reported on This Week:

Congresswoman Gabby Giffords liked to joke that her district includes Tombstone and the OK Corral. Until yesterday morning, most people here would have said that rogue gunslingers were part of the distant past. On election night in November, 18 of the politicians in the crosshairs of Sarah Palin's political action committee lost, but not Gabby Giffords.

Audio: MP3 clip, matches 2:45 video below compilation of six soundbites.

Wright elaborated: “In 2009 after one of her town hall meetings on health care reform, they found a gun someone had left behind. Last March after Congress passed health care reform, someone shot out the glass door of her Tucson office. In the midterms when Palin's PAC put her district literally in the cross hairs, Giffords strongly objected to that imagery.”

Over on CBS’s Face the Nation, Bob Schieffer cued up House Minority Leader Steny Hoyer with how “Congresswoman Giffords had received threats before,” including “when she showed up on Sarah Palin's political action committee Web site as one of those who had been targeted for defeat, it shows her in the cross hairs there.”

From the Saturday, January 8 CBS Evening News:

NANCY CORDES: Giffords was one of 20 Democrats whose districts were lit up in cross hairs on a Sarah Palin campaign Web site last spring. Giffords and many others complained that someone unstable might act on that imagery.

REP. GABRIELLE GIFFORDS (D-AZ) ON MARCH 25 DAILY RUNDOWN ON MSNBC: The way that she has it depicted has the cross hairs of a gun sight over our district, and when people do that, they've got to realize there's consequences to that action.

CORDES: Palin posted this note on her Facebook page today: “My sincere condolences are offered to the family of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and the other victims of today's tragic shooting in Arizona.”

From CNN’s 10 PM EST hour Saturday night:

JESSICA YELLIN: Even though, as you point out, this suspect is not cooperating with investigators, so we don't know the motive. President Obama also delivered that message, saying it's partly the political rhetoric that led to this. So that's why we want to bring up one of the themes that's burning up the social media right now. On Twitter and Facebook, there is a lot of talk, in particular, about Sarah Palin. As you might recall, back in March of last year, when the health care vote was coming to the floor of the House and this was all heating up, Palin tweeted out a message on Twitter saying “common sense conservatives, don't retreat -- instead reload.” And she referred folks to her Facebook page. On that Facebook page was a list of Democratic members she was putting in cross hairs, and Gabrielle Giffords was one of those in the cross hairs....

I should point out that Republican leaders in Washington have said that this is not a partisan issue, this is about violence, as have some Tea Party groups. But clearly this is a moment to talk about our political rhetoric.

WOLF BLITZER: It certainly is, but the question is, is there any evidence that the suspected shooter in this particular case was a Sarah Palin fan, read Sarah Palin's website, was a member on Facebook, watched her tweets, or anything like that?

YELLIN: Absolutely not. None at all and there is no evidence that this was even inspired by rage over health care, broadly. So there is no overt connection at all between Sarah Palin, health care...

NBC’s Today, Sunday, January 9:

KELLY O’DONNEL: Giffords, a conservative Democrat, was concerned about heated campaign rhetoric from the Tea Party.

GABRIELLE GIFFORDS ON MSNBC: We’re on Sarah Palin's targeted list. But the thing is the way she has it depicted has the cross hairs of a gun sight over our district. When people do that you got to realize there are consequences to that action.

Story Continues Below Ad ↓

ABC’s This Week:

DAVID WRIGHT: Congresswoman Gabby Giffords liked to joke that her district includes Tombstone and the OK Corral. Until yesterday morning, most people here would have said that rogue gunslingers were part of the distant past. On election night in November, 18 of the politicians in the cross hairs of Sarah Palin's political action committee lost, but not Gabby Giffords....

Last March after Congress passed health care reform, someone shot out the glass door of her Tucson office. In the midterms when Palin's PAC put her district literally in the cross hairs, Giffords strongly objected to that imagery.

CBS’s Face the Nation:

BOB SCHIEFFER: You know, Congresswoman Giffords had received threats before. That's something that we might have overlooked here. Her office was trashed during the health care debate. When she showed up on Sarah Palin's political action committee Web site as one of those who had been targeted for defeat, it shows her in the cross hairs there. She warned herself that this kind of thing could have serious repercussions.

Democrats plan to blame the shooting on Tea Partiers

Democrats plan to blame the shooting on Tea Partiers

One veteran Democratic operative, who blames overheated rhetoric for the shooting, said President Barack Obama should carefully but forcefully do what his predecessor did.

“They need to deftly pin this on the tea partiers,” said the Democrat. “Just like the Clinton White House deftly pinned the Oklahoma City bombing on the militia and anti-government people.”

Blame the real problem

Submitted by neutron on Mon, 01/10/2011 - 9:13am.

The shooting in the Safeway parking lot should not be looked at in isolation. Loughner is just another crazy guy who should have been locked up in a hospital for the insane. In recent NJ news, 25-year-old Morgan Mesz stabbed 2 women in their backyard because he thought it would open a portal to hell. Huntsville, Alabama professor Amy Bishop killed her brother in 1986, but was allowed to roam free, and then earlier this year, killed people at a tenure meeting.

It used to be that family members and / or law enforcement could petition the courts to declare someone insane, and they were kept from society in a hospital where they would be made to keep up on their medications. The liberals and the ACLU combined to stop that, and now we have free-range crazies who aren't on their medication attacking people.

Yeah, we Arizonans are one rally from madness

Submitted by StarAZ on Mon, 01/10/2011 - 12:57pm.

Just mention the deficit and we lose it! Palin puts a map locator symbol on her site a YEAR ago and she is calling for murder. Pretty bad thinking, people! Krugman surprised me buying into this, but otherwise, it seemed like how we always react. The shooter did it--he had mental problems...He planned it and did it. Today someone said in a letter to the ed that our governor was part of the problem. The problem? The one that rural sheriff decided to identify? This is an emotional country--we have the right to emotion--we have the right to assemble. Even rural sheriffs have a right to say what they want--although this didn't come off as very intelligent or as part of his job, to me anyway.

Or if the victims had been members of the US military and the shooter was a muslim shouting 'allah akbar', most certainly the demedia would be calling for restraint from jumping to conclusions pending a thorough investigation.

I wouldn't be surpised in the least if libs began shooting themselves to relieve their tedium brought about from decades of utilizing the same old blame game/class warfare tactics while calling for the right to tone down the rhetoric.  And they call themselves progressives?

Submitted by Indie Dude on Sun, 01/09/2011 - 8:55pm.

Hey Elite Media!  Here's my chart that shows you who really is responisble for the killings.

1. The Killer.

2. The Killer's Mom and Dad (for not recognizing all the warning signs and did nothing about it).

3. relatives (for not recognizing all the warning signs and alerting mom and dad)

4. friends, (for not recognizing warning signs and alerting parents or teachers)

5. teachers, (for not recognizing warning signs and alerting the parents and authorities)

6. any other contacts where someone saw red flags that he was a troubled man (and not alerting the authorities, professionals, or parents).

NOW...Media, after the above mentioned has been INVESTIGATED, then you can blame Palin!

It isn't even close to being believable that they would or could spin the other way! They might miss that pat on the head or not get a thrill up their leg. Ooops that was just warm pizzz...

If it wasn't spin, why not mention his posts about Giffords,

“My CongressWOMAN voted against Nancy Pelosi! And is now DEAD to me!”

This from the Daily Kos,

How many conservatives, Palin fans, Tea Party members would be upset over a vote against PELOSI??

NO MENTION OF THIS IN ANY OF THE ARTICLES BLAMING PALIN, BECK, HANNITY!

I see some trying to pin the

Submitted by Van Halen on Sun, 01/09/2011 - 8:32pm.

I see some trying to pin the shooter on Palin. The problem is that as far as I can see – and if someone can provide evidence to the contrary, please do – the shooter in all his ramblings said nothing about:
Jews
women
Sarah Palin
Republicans
Democrats
the TEA Party

But the shooter DID apply the following:

shooter read Communist Manifesto
hatred of God
hatred of the bible
hatred of the flag
hatred of the Constitution
shot a Republican judge dead
shooter is a registered Democrat

And note that a classmate tweeted that the shooter was Left leaning and Liberal.

So the arguments that he supported or hated any of the first list above is rather weak. Additionally, the more we learn from his former classmates and people who knew him, he appeared to have mostly lost his grasp on reality. Sure, he planned to kill the Congresswoman who was speaking 5 minutes away from his house, but that looks like it was a matter of convenience more than anything else. In other words, now he had the vehicle sitting right in his neighborhood in which he could make his grand statement to the world – whatever that statement was supposed to mean.

confirmation that the shooter was registered dem.  i saw it in some chats but not on anything i would call definitively reliable.  i did read as i posted earlier that they found a "thanks for attending my rally" letter from a giffords rally in 2007 which of course predates all the supposed "rhetoric" that the left is ascribing to fueling his fire.  it would appear that regardless of his political affiliation that he was fixated on her at a date which would reduce all THEIR RHETORIC to the rubbish that it is.

Gee....you're not biased are you?

Submitted by Jer on Sun, 01/09/2011 - 8:51pm.

I'm not pinning it on Palin, either, but...

A few quick points.  He did indeed refer to his dislike of Jews.  The Communist Manifesto was just one of a number of books he listed, including Mein Kampf, which dovetails nicely with his anti-Semitism.  The Republican judge who had ruled in a case favorable to immingrants was an innocent attendee whose identity was highly unlikely known to the shooter and, in any event, the latter almost certainly would not have known the judge would be in attendance.  The shooter--an anti-government kook-- may very well have been a registered Democrat, but I haven't seen a source for that.  Have you?  And, finally, there seems to be little question but that his prime target was the Democratic Congresswoman, a crucial fact you for some reason ignore.

Jer, you have ENTIRELY missed

Submitted by Van Halen on Sun, 01/09/2011 - 9:46pm.

Jer, you have ENTIRELY missed the point I was trying to make.

The fact is that the shooter appears to be down the middle crazy. He doesn't seem to possess the capability to make a rational choice between shooting this person or that person. Yes, he picked Giffords, but AS FAR AS CAN BE SEEN, he appears to have picked her because they crossed paths in the past and now she was conveniently in his neighborhood. More kids who were in his class are speaking out now, saying what I just said - that he seemed to be in his own little world and when speaking, made no sense to whoever he was speaking to.

I put the lists up in my post to illustrate just how fast the JournOList media raced to pin the blame on Palin, Bush, Limbaugh, Beck, Bachmann and the TEA Party - without ANY evidence or knowledge to back it up.

I put the lists up to show you that if you want to play 'the Right is to blame game, here's evidence to point to the Left'.

The bottom line is, once again:

1) The Liberal media need to cut the crap with the blame game.

2) No one can pin the shootings on either the Left or the Right - or ANYONE BUT THE SHOOTER at this time.

As for the Registered Democrat, I cannot find the source so I too will back off that charge but I have been searching around and have not found anything to indicate the Killer was motivated by hatred of Jews.

Sorry, Jer, but if Nixon was as much of a bigot as you say he is - and I admit I'm not much of  specialist in his administration, as not enough people are dead for good histories of that time to come out - why initiate an operation which would, by design, aid people who Nixon is said to be bigoted against?

It was a liberal who bit the finger off a man who disagreed with him on healthcare.

It was Obama-loving Amy Bishop who took a gun to work and murdered co-workers.

Joseph Stack flew his plane into the IRS building after writing an anti-conservative manifesto.

It was liberals who destroyed AM radio towers outside of Seattle.

It’s liberals who burn down Hummer dealerships.

It was progressive SEIU union thugs who beat a black conservative man who spoke his mind.

It’s doubtful that a conservative fired shots into a GOP campaign headquarters.

In fact, Democrats have no monopoly on having their offices vandalized.

Don’t forget it was Obama’s friend Bill Ayers who used terrorism as a tool for political change. SDS is still radical, with arrests in 2007 and the storming of the CATO Institute in July 2008.</b>

I can't believe the stuff I am reading out there from news sites, as well as the posters on these sites.

The guy was clearly crazy and a messed up person.

I just read on drudge that a classmate Said he was "left wing" but you won't see me trying to blame George Soros for it! Interesting thought: what if this man was Muslim? The main stream media would break their necks trying to express how unfortunate the tragedy is. But since the victim is a Democrat. It must be Sarah Palin's fault. As an Okie I was deeply offended when Clinton Tried to blame right wing talk radio (rush limbaugh) for Timothy McVeigh bombing the Federal building in OKC! I am so outraged! Hi folks,

I think you would all consider me very liberal/leftist.  I'm not registered as a Democrat, as I enjoy the independence, but would probably register in that direction if I had to choose.  I voted for Obama, and yes, would probably do it again.  Despite my own perspective, I appreciate your viewpoints, and therefore come to this site periodically.

I doubt that most rational liberals would consider any aspect of this sad sad episode to be the responsibility of the right in any way, shape, or form.  I believe that the insinuations made by some liberal politicians and members of the media to this effect are misguided, insensitively political, and truly reprehensible.  Shame on them.

I have very few nice things to say about Sarah Palin.  I truly hope that her political influence wanes away to nothing.  But the crosshairs map (while in hindsight was in poor taste) doesn't seem to have had any influence on what transpired.  I would not like to see our rights to free speech curtailed in prohibiting this type of political device in the future.

I also do not think that Rush Limbaugh or any other extremely-right pundits incited this.  It is okay to question this, to investigate this, etc.  But again, it is irresponsible to make broad claims without any supporting evidence.

The person who did this crime is solely responsible for his actions.  I hope that, after the emotions of this weekend give way to rational discourse, both the left and right will apportion the blame where it belongs.

I wish the families of those attacked comfort, and a speedy recovery to those injured.

Best,

DPH

Liberal Hypocrites

Submitted by RocktheJungle on Sun, 01/09/2011 - 9:32pm.

Should we ban free speech in rock music because it did spawn two of the worst serial killers in U.S. history?!
The "Night Stalker" Richard Ramirez killed (13 victims)because he believed that the song 'Night Prowler' by AC/DC told him too.
Charles Manson , remember him?, he killed because he thought the Beatles in the 'White Album' was directing him to start 'Helter Skelter'.

Has these two examples stopped rock groups from writing about death, drugs, etc, etc? the simple answer is no.
The media is trying to place the blame on the Tea Party and Sarah Palin for the senseless killings but where are they now when it comes to free speech in music, liberals will  say oh this happened along time ago and times have changed i will present to you that people still buy Beatles and AC/DC music and the lyrics have not been altered in anyway , and i can say with 100 surety that both of these bands get more airplay than Sarah Palin and the Tea Party.
Before i get flamed for not liking music that is not the case, AC/DC was one of my fav bands growing up, the Beatles not so much and i know it's sacrilege.

Carolyn McCarthy readies gun control bill.

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0111/47338.html

Some of the highlights:

- McCarthy wants to prevent people with a history of mental instability from owning guns.

- Pennsylvania Rep. Robert Brady, a Democrat from Philadelphia will introduce a bill that would make it a crime for anyone to use language or symbols that could be seen as threatening or violent against a federal official, including a member of Congress.

- The murderer bought his gun legally from a gun store, so the obvious response according to Illinois Rep. Mike Quigley is to go after gun shows. He also wants a new "assault" weapons ban, even though the killer didn't use an "assault" weapon.

Gee, it's almost like this whole thing was a Democrat plan to further their gun-grabbing goals.

Resisting the temptation

Submitted by Kenyon Schraeder on Mon, 01/10/2011 - 12:10am.

This horrible tragedy could not have been avoided. It's one of the sadder and more regrettable aspects of living in a truly free society. But, speaking for myself, I wouldn't trade living in our society for living in a communistic or socialistic police state where my safety comes entirely at the expense of my very freedom and liberty. Yet, my heart is heavy and my prayers are with all of the victims, their families and their friends.

The individual who committed this heinous act is most likely mentally unstable, highly impressionable and emotionally unbalanced.  It's no one's direct fault other than the shooter's. Laying blame is routinely done to stoke anger among one or more groups or simply to assuage individual feelings of guilt and remorse or to advance an agenda. That some would use a tragedy like this one to advance their own political cause is well beyond opportunistic. It's vile and disgusting and it flies in the faces of decency and compassion.

We have already read and heard of too many attacks where guns, ordinary kitchen cutlery, baseball bats, machetes, corrosive acids, gasoline, lighter fluid and homemade explosives were used to wreak havoc and seriously injure, blind, maime or kill people in public environs. Angry employees, bitter ex-employees, jilted lovers, enraged ex-husbands, vengeful girlfriends, etc. In each instance the common denominator was a mentally unstable and emotionally unbalanced individual acting out his or her delusions and somehow believing that such measures were necessary or called for or "the only way".

The last thing our Country needs now is for journalists, law enforcement or anyone in a bureaucratic position of authority to rush to assign blame, polarize people further and oblige many of the talking heads on TV and radio so they might seize the moment and have a field day demonizing innocent groups of Americans for the actions of, for want of a better word, a certifiable nutcase.

It's time for all Americans to resist the temptation to lash out at one another.

"This horrible tragedy could not have been avoided."

On it's face, your statement would seem accurate and correct. However, with deeper digging and more thorough analysis, there appears to be documented evidence and a tragedy of errors that seem to prove otherwise.

Parents, family, friends, acquaintences, colleages, peers, classmates, etc. all appear to have gone on record (in some form or another) as saying, the apparently disturbed, Mr. Loughner was not balanced and quite possibly deranged.

I'm sure once more unbiased and factually accurate details (not from MSM, of course) begin to surface in the coming days, we should all get a much clearer picture of what it is that really makes this psycho tick.

about the rhetoric blaming assorted folks on the right (Beck, Limbaugh, etc.) but primarily Sarah Palin, for this tragedy.  And it seems to me that by the Left's own logic, Sarah can't be responsible for this.

When Sarah started using Facebook and Twitter, somebody (I can't remember who now, sounds like something Bill Maher would say) commented that every time she makes a post on Facebook, gazillions of her mindless followers rush to do her bidding

On the now infamous map (and it's my understanding that the symbols are not crosshairs, but a universal surveying symbol for location), I would surmise that the target would be ONLY Gabrielle Gifford.  But this deranged young man shot several people, not just Gifford.  Since, according to the Left, Sarah's mental control of her right-wing, gun-toting, zombie savages followers is absolute, there can be only one explanation as to why the single target of the map was turned into a shooting spree by this young man.

Sarah wasn't using her mind control when this young man started shooting.  Therefore, she cannot be responsible for his actions.  /sarc off

(From what I've heard about Loughner, he'd rather have all his toenails pulled at once than admit to listening to or reading anything a conservative might have to say, much less Sarah Palin.)

Jer,  just want to say thank you for injecting a little sanity into the debate from the "mildly left-of-center"

I for one think that they are target symbols - I just don't think it matters and find it amusing that the all the pundits who need to find some sort of star-chamber conspiracy to all this work themselves up into such a lather.

Hope you are here to stay, and thanks for doing what you do.

I agree completely about the significance, or lack thereof, regarding the symbols--whether crosshairs, bullseyes, or topographical map markers.  And it's highly and embarrassingly disingenuous of the Dems to squawk about the 'horrific' implications of the design of an electoral map which is nearly identical to ones they themselves have employed.

Submitted by TerryWest on Mon, 01/10/2011 - 3:08am.

I agree, its very sad, watching the last video he made brought home the fact this young man was very ill and in need of treatment.     If one were to point to vitriol that set this young mans ill mind in motion to commit the act then it would make more logical sense to point it at the media and those who conspired to slander  the Tea party and Americans who supported their message.  Not to mention the daily attempts at advocating racial and other violence ( manufactured fear game meant to discredit and demonize) and hate towards the tea party and Americans who dont share their ideology, all which are still being played out, such hipocrisy!

I was just reading an article on the Wall Street Journal Online about Loughner which stated that he was "aggravated" by his encounter with Gifford in 2007.

If memory serves me correctly, Mark David Chapman was also aggravated by his encounter with John Lennon early in the day in which he shot Lennon.  He didn't feel that Lennon paid proper attention to him or wrote sloppily when Chapman stopped him to get an autograph.

Here comes the new spin....

Submitted by Hippopaulimus on Mon, 01/10/2011 - 6:30am.

Now that it's coming out that the shooter was a lefty, the media is changing gears on it's spin. Now it's his social isolation that feuled his nihilism. Because it's blatantly obvious he was no follower of Conservative outlets. Check out the article on Yahoo News.

Now there'll be the "he's also a victim" slant. And the "he's mentally ill and not responsible for his actions"  B.S. ...... He had the mental capacity to purchase the handgun, plan the attack at this specific event and leave several messages meant to be found after the fact. I don't care what type of psychoses this excriment had, I don't care about his political leanings, I don't care if he has the meaning of life tatooed on his left inner thigh .... his actions caused the death of a 9 year old child! ... That for me is the bottom line ... He needs to be brought out to the public square and hanged, old school, by the neck until dead ... no neck snapping, no putting him to sleep like the family pet.

There is never an excuse for killing a child.

I have a better idea.  Why don't we let the rule of law operate here : Let Lougher be tried according to the laws of Arizona.   If he is crazy as the evidence seems to suggest, he may not even be criminally accountable much less subject to capital punishment under Arizona law.  Let the courts sort it out as they have with other offenders.

Submitted by ConservativeRex on Mon, 01/10/2011 - 9:24am.

There is no doubt he set out to shoot the Rep.  Clearly that has been established.  But what most folks object to.  Is that this shooting is attributable to Sarah Palin or Glenn Beck or anyone else but him for that matter. Talk about violent rhetoric.

I guess the left really doesn't let a "good crisis" go to waste.  For this attitude they are dispicable.  Before they washed up the pavement they were blaming the Tea Party.  Have you lefty's not learned a single thing from history?  Awful people to do this.  Nearly as disgraceful as the shooter, nearly.  I anticipate it getting much worse in this country before it gets better, and it's due to talk that took place soon after the echos of the shots faded away.

Dispicable MSM

Submitted by FaulknerFan on Mon, 01/10/2011 - 9:41am.

It is a scary and sad state of affairs we have come to in this country.  A democrat is shot down by a deranged luantic who is by all reports left politically and the MSM use the horrible thing to try to make political points.  There is no true concern about the woman who was shot, the other people hurt, the country, or anything but advancing a political objective.  There is absolutely no morality left on the political left today, and certainly in the media. They have truly reached a new low here.  It parallels the actions of the worse dictitoral regimes in history.  What was it Jefferson said?

If only the next presidential

Submitted by Barack_must_go..... on Mon, 01/10/2011 - 9:52am.

If only the next presidential election were today. We the People would send another  ' Loud & Clear ' message to the depraived democrat party, but more importantly to the domestic terrorist entrenched in our White House, that we love our country just the way it was before your failed coup attempt nearly destroyed it and it's time you go back to wherever you came from....never to be heard from again.

Lets face it, all the liberal vitriol in the world, will not get Humpty Dumpty back up on his imaginary thrown again, but that won't keep these morons from trying.

Lets just relax and let them destroy themselves from within, as they've done time after time, as recently as last November's mid term elections.

Obama, after all his vile rhetoric, is now down on his knees at the feet of corporate America and the U. S. Chamber of Commerce, just like the cheap whore he has proven himself to be.

Jobs for hurting Americans, the economy and 2012 are to be the main focus of the conservative electorate and politicians in this country, no matter how much the losers on the other side try and change the subject.

Network Journalists trying to redirect public opinion

Submitted by NVRAT on Mon, 01/10/2011 - 10:17am.

As usual the 5 networks ran amuck again with out trying to tell the truth, trying to out do the other  in slime journalism. They want to get the liberal lemmings to follow their crumb path and lead the lefties away from the real truth. The shooter was a "LEFT WING LIBERAL" according to his High School and College associates and class mates. A twitter page (caitieparker) was found speaking of this guy and how they were suprised of the deed. The twitter was immediately pulled  but, a very astute person that supplys "The Drudge Report" with headline news items had coppied it and the whole twitter was posted on 1/9/2011 and contains information about the shooter. In comments Ms Parker  had stated that various news agencys and called her for an interview but, she was overwhelmed with the ordeal and not comfortable. Now, we know at least CBS (according to Parker) was one of the networks that obtained the tweet but so far has not said a word of the political leanings of this shooter and I doubt that we ever will hear of it (SLIME JOURNALISM). Those of you that would like to read the whole tweet go to the Drudge Report shown on 1/9/2011 and its all there for the whole world to see. Enjoy.

Submitted by winston smith on Mon, 01/10/2011 - 12:06pm.

The leftists in the media are blaming Sarah Palin for the shootings in Tucson. I'm even seeing some articles by the MSM that implicate Sarah Palin and don't even mention the shooters name. They are using this event to take down the Tea Party and Sarah Palin all in one fell swoop. This is Begala style politics ---- destroy your enemy at all costs then accuse your enemy of exactly what you are guilty of.

They seem to be avoiding the fact that the shooter is an atheist and a 9/11 truther. Pretty much a slam dunk certainty that Lougher is a left-wing loon. The MSM  fully well knows that by reporting these "extra facts" that the average joe would correctly write off this guy as yet another violent left-wing radical -- which he is. But they're trying desperately to pin this on Palin and Beck so reporting on such information would work against their insidious little plot.

Won't work

Submitted by sam12663 on Mon, 01/10/2011 - 1:17pm.

Over the top rhetoric. Divisive comments. Lets see about this. "They bring a knife, we'll bring a gun". "The cops acted stupidly". "Back seat of the car". "Punish your enemies".  Some Tea Party activist? Not by a long shot.

The MSM, and even the Obama administration, can try and spin this as the result of Sarah Palin or the Tea Party, but it will not work.

First of all, the facts are evident for any reasonable thinking person to see; this unstable man is a left wing liberal minded person. He has had it in for this congresswoman since 2007, long before the Tea Party, or Sarah Palin for that matter, even came upon the scene.  He is a 9/11 truther, and he is a conspiracy theorist in the highest order. He has written many times that he was unhappy with the congresswoman for her moderate views; in other words, in his mind, she wasn't liberal enough. Sounds like a Tea Party type doesn't it?

The very fact that we have major network anchors, politicians and political advisors using this in an ideological way is truly sickening. If the President comes out and spouts anything remotely partisan about this tragedy, he should be ripped to shreds by all conservatives. We will see just what kind of leader Obama is, and if he is actually interested in toning down the rhetoric, his own included, by his response to this event.

This disturbed person is a product of the very environment the liberal person creates and  values. He is not questioned when he displays irrational behavior for fear of stigmatizing him; he is someone that, obviously needing help, is ignored by all of those around him. Yet, it is Sarah Pailns fault.

Pathetic.

Liberals lie, it's what they do.
