ABC framed its Tuesday night story, on citizens using town hall forums held by Members of Congress to express opposition to ObamaCare, around undermining their credibility by asserting the reaction “appears to be orchestrated” and “organized” and thus is forcing the victimized “White House to push back” by “fighting Internet fire with fire.”
After anchor Charles Gibson insisted “some of that criticism appears to be orchestrated, causing the White House to push back,” reporter Jake Tapper showed some instances of “people protesting health care reform with visceral anger” and relayed how “Texas Democrat Lloyd Doggett, who was shouted down before he could even speak, says there's nothing authentic about these protests.” Doggett charged: “This notion of a grassroots campaign is totally and completely phony. The Republican Party has coordinated this apparent outrage and stirred it up.” Tapper corroborated: “Clearly, some of it is organized.” He cited how “Bob MacGuffie, a grass roots conservative activist wrote a widely circulated memo advising others at town hall meetings to put the Congressman quote, 'on the defensive with your questions and follow up.'”
Tapper did note that “one official from FreedomWorks, which is run by corporate lobbyist and former House Majority Leader Dick Armey, says his group is organizing, but he says Washington ignores those real people with real emotions at their own peril.”And Tapper played video of himself at the White House briefing challenging Press Secretary Robert Gibbs: “How is their organizing and getting people to come to town hall meetings to express their feelings any different from a liberal group doing the same thing?”
Tapper, however, concluded by returning to the theme of a White House battling against unfair attacks: “The White House is fighting Internet fire with fire. They've launched their own Web video in which they refute a lot of the claims being made about health care reform and say, to voters, please send us any claims that you find quote, 'fishy.'”
That would be a video on WhiteHouse.gov, about “disinformation” against Obama's efforts, narrated by Linda Douglass, Communications Director for the White House’s Health Reform Office -- and until just over three years ago a Washington correspondent for ABC News.
Douglass is one of the twelve listed in the July 29 posting: “Revolving Door from Journalism to Team Obama Now Up to a Dozen.” Make that thirteen now.
Nothing against MacGuffie, but he's hardly a major national force able to single-handedly propel thousands of people to attend these town hall sessions with Congressmen and Senators around the country. He's a founder of a small group in Connecticut called RightPrinciples.com.
My Monday night item, “CBS Notices 'Voices of Protest' Against 'What They Call Government-Run Health Care,'” recounted:
Monday's CBS Evening News, unlike the ABC and NBC evening newscasts, found time for a story on protesters, against liberal Democratic health plans, who confronted members of Congress at forums over the weekend, though reporter Wyatt Andrews felt the need to insert “scare” quotes as he referred to “demonstrators against what they called 'government-run health care'” and “what they call 'Obama-care.'”
The story on the Tuesday, August 4 World News on ABC:
CHARLES GIBSON: Members of the House of Representatives are already back in their districts on summer recess, most holding town hall meetings to find out what's on the voters' minds, and what they're hearing is criticism over health care reform. And some of that criticism appears to be orchestrated, causing the White House to push back. Since their enemies haven't in fact done what the left accuses them of doing, we must conclude that they are either, constantly making the same mistakes or that they are in fact following a plan, in order to achieve a result that they have in mind. Since the media are the people responsible for delivering news and information to the masses, and never deviate from the presentation model, it is clear that they intend to control the debate, that they choose to allow if any, (and purely for cosmentic reasons) in order to control the public mind.
If this brings them power and it does, if it brings power to people whom it can be said are "friendly" to them and it does, and if everyone involved can be said to be "slightly left of center", (a gross understatement) and they are, and if the net result will be that a socalist (at minimum) government and way of life will replace the free one we have had and it will, we may conclude, that we can trust nothing we hear and see from these people, and that they are at the very center, of any plot so described, and they are.
Overwhelming evidence exists that this is so, and every new day confirms it even more concretely. They are attempting to seize this country, it's resources, it's wealth and it's people for themselves. They mean to do this and their words serve that end, and we as a people will go from being able to freely do what we want, to being able only to do what they are willing to allow us to do.
Freedom, long the target of those who would be kings, will finally vanish as it has by and large for the rest of the world. The rule of law will be completely replaced by the rule of power, with law assisting the endeavour and the self-appointed new kings. It will be good to be one of the kings. Not so, one of the serfs, never has been. But we pay no attention to history, when we are actually able to hear a truthful version of it. Truth and fact have always been the enemies of evil because evil cannot suceed where they exist. Truth must be murdered by evil before evil can dominate.
Stalin and Hitler never saw themselves as evil but few would argue in their favor. There are however many who study them, and their methods and apply that knowledge, as they are able. It seems that some learn other lessons from history.

A rent-a mob of a hundred or so 'slackers' is bused in on a half-dozen chartered buses. They all get off wearing new, identical pre-printed t-shirts and break out professionally printed protest signs with probably three different slogans between the lot.
With military precision they parade in front of an obliging media which just happened to be driving by when this 'spontaneous' demonstration broke out.
Right.
Later that night, holding a press release from Axelrod Astroturfing, the infobabe on the 6 o'clock news reports on a massive grassroots protest involving over a thousand people 'from all walks of life' (camera cuts to three aging hippies) against Bush's plot to 'institute martial law as soon as our backs are turned'.
THAT's 'orchestrated'.

Money in the millions is no object as that can be gained through appropriations committees with the American People none the wiser.
It's only the very big outlays and legislation that they need Congressional approval for. Actually, I believe they're using Congressional approval for (lack of a better word) 'legitimate' legislation while actually earmarking un-Constitutional powers rather than simply the pork we're all familiar with.
This Americorps/ACORN to me is the scariest. I fervently believe that either Obama and/or his handlers have studied Hitler's (Godwin's Rule be damned!) rise to power. Obviously in Germany there was a parliamentary government, so there are slight differences involving plurality and coalitions...but the basic idea is that the political arm needs its own armed force, the SA (Brown Shirts) in other words.
Hitler kept the industrialists placated and actually made the industrialists wealthier through government contracts and securing raw materials and foreign labor for their factories-their profits were secured in foreign countries like Switzerland (ever notice that IG Farben, Volkswagen, Bayer, BMW and many other German companies were still wealthy after the war despite the devastation in Germany?).
Like it or not, Hitler was wildly successful in the pre-war days. He was the ultimate community organizer, rabble rouser, charismatic speaker. He was a nobody...but, he understood the psychology of the masses and the weaknesses of Democracy. He used the organs of the democratic system until they were no longer useful nor functional. He had his own Czars and judges/courts that he appointed without anyone's approval. Eventually the Party became the State.
