Olbermann Uses 'Mash-Up Bag of Meat' Term on Football Night in America

  • Bookmark and Share

Several weeks ago, MSNBC host Keith Olbermann used the bizarre – and arguably disturbing – term "big mashed-up bag of meat with lip stick on it" to refer to Michelle Malkin as he slammed the conservative blogger, leaving some wondering where his idea for such a crude term came from. This question remains unanswered, but, notably, on Sunday’s Football Night in America on NBC, as he recited plays between the Houston Texans and the Indianapolis Colts, Olbermann used a similar term to refer to Kris Brown of the Houston Texans after he failed to score, calling Brown "a big bag full of mashed-up Kris Brown," as he was lying on the ground. (Hat tip to Clint Bradford for emailing in the tip.)

It was on the Tuesday, October 13, Countdown show on MSNBC that Olbermann compared Malkin to a "big mashed-up bag of meat with lip stick on it" during the show's "Worst Person in the World" segment.

Below is a transcript of the relevant portion of the November 8 Football Night in America pregame:

KEITH OLBERMANN: And then the Texans with a final drive, looking to set it on the shoulder and the feet of that guy, Kris Brown, [Matt] Schaub, Andre Johnson, seven yards, 14 seconds left, Schaub, Jacoby Jones eight yards down to the 24, and since Brown made it from 56, this should be a piece of cake. Kris Brown from 42 for the tie after the spike. They set it up for Brown to tie this game up in the waning second and he messes. Looks like a big bag full of mashed-up Kris Brown, and Indianapolis prevails by 20-17.

when will the NFL get rid of

when will the NFL get rid of this idiot, oh i forgot he works for the obama administration an GE, i guess that's the same thing.  what a turd.

Comedian

Keith likes to call Rush Limbaugh a "comedian." Dennis Miller actually IS one.

EITHER is more informed and far more entertaining, not to mention funny, than this purse-lipped flatulent Ted Baxter wannabe.

OT on Ted Baxter

Have you seen the new Leno show? Every few days, he has a short segment spoofing local TV news promos, and the two anchors are  Rick and Tonya. Rick looks like Ted Baxter's brother!

I no-longer watch Football Night in America specifically because

...this idiot is on it.

-Dave

Our elected representatives have failed us.

Glad it's not just me...

I don't watch either specifically because of Keith.

I refuse to watch

Exactly right. I don't watch either, which means the advertisers' messages don't reach me. I wonder if the advertisers are satisfied with that arrangement?

"mmm, mmm, mm. Barrack-Hussain-Øbama↓." - The liberals coolaid drinking song

Me three

And this should be a clear sign that Olbermann may be about to "go Hasan."

Of course, it would be with a pencil, as he would never touch a firearm.

Add me to the list

Last year I'd watch with the volume muted.  I decided that I don't even want to see that mashed up bag of hemoroids with no sound.  (apologies to anyone still having breakfast)

Gun Control - The theory that a woman found dead in an alley, raped and strangled with her own pantyhose, is somehow morally superior to a woman explaining to police how her attacker got that fatal bullet wound.

The only thing mashed up

The only thing mashed up are Olbie's BB's for brains.

Ah, Keith Keith Keith

Keith "What is that mashed up thing in my bathtub" the Sports Boy returns to the scene of his first job where he had to wear long pants not made of denim.

BTW, does he look like the bachelor uncle who has some kind of office job that deals with pushing paper and never has a date and you don't want him to hang out too long at Thanksgiving or Christmas?

Keith who?

Keith who?

One theory is....

Olbermann's documented history of over-the-top attacks on women can be laid at the feet of an overbearing mother. One can imagine the harm done to a young Keith being chastised with "No woman wants a big pudgy boy with a tiny peter" during bathtime ( and by "bathtime" I mean washing each others backs, etc). What's worse, this mother-son behavior occurred right up until Olbermann enrolled in Cornell Agricultural School at the age of 17.

I actually liked Olberman once

Of course, that was back when he was a sportscaster for KTLA 5 in Los Angeles. When he talks strictly about sports, he can be very entertaining with his dry humor. It didn't matter if his politics were bad, because he stuck to the subject matter, sports, most of the time.

In most cases, I can separate the character from the actor, or in this case, the individual from his current job task. But ever since Olbey became a biased commentator filled with utter hatred for anything and everything right of Hillary, it is now a completely different story. He's sort of like OJ: I can NOT watch him in any appearance without feeling a visceral feeling of disgust, no matter how good the performance with regard to the subject matter happens to be.

Dennis Miller is the same, to be honest. His politics are more in line with mine (small-l Libertarian conservatice). But he absolutely sucked at announcing football, while Olberman seems to be a bit more knowlegable, so it was a matter of technical performance flaws more than likeability.

Bottom line, though: "Football Night in America" is NEVER on my list. I watch the game and switch to ESPN or the NFL channel during the halftime break (or read Newsbusters).

(On a side note: I wonder if Madden had any issues with NBC that he didn't disclose. I know he was fuming when he and Al Michaels once had to broadcast from a 'dark' booth during that idiotic NBC "Green" week.)

With ESPN, and the NFL

With ESPN, and the NFL channel, I have no reason to watch the SNF pre-game show for recaps and highlights.  I simply refuse to watch the "Bathtub-Boi."

Facts are like kryptonite to the liberal.

And Yet . . . .

. . . . NBC and the NFL are PROUD to call Olbermann their ''guy''.

JMHO, you understand.

If Saul Alinsky owned a news channel it would be MSNBC.  ----  Me

I used to watch the NFL...

 No more though...

The only difference

The only difference between a big bag of mashed up excrement and Keith is the bag.

Considering how

Considering how good-looking Michelle Malkin is and how much Keith likes football, has anyone considered that the mashed-up bag of meat could be Keith's lowcost Portnoy substitute?  Not sure what is coming out when he's referring to Chris Brown, maybe Keith.

"Lowcost Portnoy substitute"

Well, there's a euphemism for you.

Have you seen the price of

Have you seen the price of calf's liver in the big city delis?

"An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last."  - Sir Winston Churchill

You know ...

You know waaaaay too much. That small factoid falls under the category of "too much information"!

Sunday football on NBC is a travesty.

Is there no one left at NBC who has some journalistic integrity? I'd love to see a viewer poll (I'd like to VOTE in one!) that rates network sportscasters. Sunday football on NBC is a travesty. Does ANYONE at NBC read mail from viewers?

I can't even say the words that describe Olbermann, but Collinsworth and Michaels were horrible last night. Michaels has been stuck on himself for a long time, but I thought Collinsworth was still trying---but not anymore.

I don't watch it because of KO.

I don't watch it because of KO either.

I don't watch.  I think

I don't watch.  I think the NFL should be boycotted and exposed for the phony entertainment scam that it is.  And when it's staffed by pricks like Olbermanic, then that tears it, for me.

You think you're watching a sport where the better team wins?  Sorry, the NFL is manipulated to produce the outcomes the league wants.  It's not choreographed or scripted, but it is manipulated - and they have a 1000 page rule book to help them do it.

Your 15 yard gain on 3rd and 12 has been negated by a very questionable holding call.  Looks like you'll be punting....sorry.

I do watch a little, but my NFL viewing is down about 90% from just a few years ago.  Someday I'll be totally rid of the habit.

Olberwimp

Olberwimp is a petulant little boy who is compelled to spout whatever half baked thought that flashes through his mashed up bag of mind.  He can slam anyone he wants (almost exclusively those on the right) because he never has to face the consequences that might result from insulting those people face to face.  Anyone can talk tough when they're ensconced in the impenetrable world of face make-up, camera's and script reading. Real world men don't have the luxury of hiding behind a camera and whatever false credibility that provides. Perhaps he's trying to offset his dweeby appearance by appearing intelligent but he's only another sycophantic dud in the toady peanut gallery of Obamaworld.  Ignore him.....his ratings insure his eventual demise.

Nicely put

I must say that was very good... but you forgot that when you are dealing with a media company like MSNBC, CNN, etc... you really aren't going to get much reporter for the money.  Just as he wasn't much of a sports reporter, he's not going to do much now.

FoxNews has it all!  "Ogre"mann, Maddow, Tingles, you name em'.  None of them want anything of a face to face with any one correspondant on Fox.

Keith's other method of dealing with being asked if he gets "the Senior Discount" at Denny's is spending all his dough on his Weatherchannel girlfriend, you know the one who is not quite half his age?

Stay Free!!!

Wait one minute Mr Olbermann ....

You are wrong, dead wrong!!!  I think the "big mashed-up bag of meat with lip stick on it" looks pretty darn good with lip stick, eh?

Olby is a very creepy and strange individual! The "bag'o meat" comment used to describe Malkin was very distrubing and gross! But now he using it to creep out the NFL audiance also.
