Conservative radio host Dan Bongino tore into a number of leftist so-called fact-checkers for their connection to activist, leftist billionaire George Soros.
Citing a New York Post op-ed by Bongino Report Content Manager Matt Palumbo, Bongino called out the parent company of fact-checking site PolitiFact, The Poynter Institute, for receiving funding from Soros. Bongino quotes from the article that, “‘One of the projects of the Poynter Institute, specifically, is this International Fact Checking Network [IFCN] … . Now, they were launched in 2015 with its initial funding coming from the National Endowment for Democracy, the Omidyar Network, Google, Facebook, the Bill Gates Foundation and the George Soros Open Society Foundation.’”
After noting how Big Tech platforms have wielded these fact-checkers to go after his content, Bongino added during the April 19 edition of his show: “So all left-wingers are funding these fact-checkers to do left-wing stuff, which is to censor conservative content. It’s not the fact-check. They don’t actually believe in fact-checking.” Soros gave $492,000 to the IFCN between 2017 and 2019 alone, according to Open Society Foundations records.
The Soros-funded IFCN works with 100 so-called fact-checking organizations worldwide, powerfully distinguishing itself as a de facto Ministry of Truth engineered to ensure that opinions that oppose the left’s narrative on issues like abortion, “transgenderism,” COVID-19 and economics are silenced before they gain traction on social media platforms. Among the most well-known leftist organizations affiliated with the IFCN include The Associated Press, FactCheck.org, The Dispatch, The Washington Post and PolitiFact.
Bongino discussed how he had personally been targeted by the leftist fact-checkers. Bongino said that fact-checkers were working in partnership with Facebook, fact-checking his content whenever it is doing well, so that Facebook will shut down his page or distribution. He referred to Facebook as a “total clown show” and a “joke” before discussing a recent fact-check of his content by Deangelo Gore from FactCheck.org, which he called a “Soros-based Operation.”
Bongino tore Gore’s propaganda apart:
This article is hilarious in its stupidity. This is, this is embarrassing. It is so stupid that it’s hard to even believe that a guy with no dignity like Deangelo Gore would even put his name on it. FBI access request is not evidence that the White House lied about not being involved in the Mar-a-Lago raid. Folks, I’m not even going to go through the whole thing, I will just tie it up quickly. The White House had to have known what was going on. There was a special access request for them to be able to look at records, classified records in possession of the Trump team. They absolutely knew it was going on.
Bongino warned his viewers that “[t]he Soros people, and the lawsuit people, that I believe are involved in this, have been dying to censor conservative media outlets for a long time.” He continued: “His stuff is all tied together. They do it through fact-checkers. They do it through lawfare: the law as warfare. There, this is actively happening right now in front of your face, and a lot of this is funded by the Soros machine.”
FactCheck.org, the fact-checker that recently targeted Bogino, has been vetted by the IFCN as a symbol of journalistic virtue. This is the same fact-checker that has cited an edited transcript to hide a Biden gaffe and also tried to bury the Hunter Biden laptop scandal.
As Palumbo explains in his article, the IFCN “acts as the ‘high body’ for the dozens of fact-checking organizations under its umbrella, which unite under a shared code of principles, and a mission ‘to bring together the growing community of fact-checkers around the world and advocates of factual information in the global fight against misinformation.’”
Several of these Soros-funded fact-checkers, including PolitiFact and The Washington Post, have also been criticized for denying the clear connection between Soros and radical Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. Bragg is currently in the middle of what appears to be a prosecutorial vendetta against former President Donald Trump.
