Maher Slams Santorum as the 'Little Creep That Could,' Romney Arrived With 'Fetus in a Jar'

By Brad Wilmouth | February 11, 2012 | 09:31

During the opening monologue on Friday's Real Time with Bill Maher, host Maher derided Rick Santorum as "the little creep that could" because of the GOP presidential candidate's recent electoral victories. He also mocked the concern conservatives have about abortion by cracking that Mitt Romney had come to CPAC with a "fetus in a jar" to try to outdo Santorum with the audience. (Video below)

Referring to Santorum's victories in Colorado, Minnesota, and Missouri from the past week, Maher hit the GOP candidate:

Al Sharpton: 'You Cannot Have Rights Voted On' - It's 'Tyranny By The Majority'

By Noel Sheppard | February 11, 2012 | 00:28

UPDATE AT END OF POST: The Confederacy's Jefferson Davis railed against "the tyranny of the majority" wanting to end slavery.

Al Sharpton on Friday said something that every American on both sides of the aisle should totally fear.

"You cannot have rights voted on," the MSNBC anchor actually said on HBO's Real Time. "You have tyranny by the majority" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Suze Orman: Obama Averaged '200,000 Jobs a Month' in 2012, 'He’s Done So Much in the Past Four Years'

By Noel Sheppard | February 04, 2012 | 14:14

CNBC's Suze Orman bills herself as an "internationally acclaimed personal financial expert."

This "financial expert," appearing on HBO's Real Time Friday, said that in 2012, "We are average [sic] 200,000 jobs a month that are being created...[Obama's] done so much in the past four years I can’t even tell you" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Maher Turns on Occupiers, Denounces Them as D-bags That Should ‘Get a Job’

By Noel Sheppard | February 04, 2012 | 11:27

The Occupy movement lost one of its most ardent supporters in the media Friday night.

On HBO's Real Time, host Bill Maher surprisingly said of the protesters, "As I watch them on the news now I find myself almost agreeing with Newt Gingrich. Like, you know what - get a job...Now it's just a bunch of [d-bags] who think throwing a chair through the Starbucks window is going to bring on the revolution" (video follows with transcript and commentary, vulgarity warning):

Maher: 'We've Lost 500,000 Public Sector Jobs' Under Obama and 'Added 3.7 Million Private Sector Jobs'

By Noel Sheppard | February 04, 2012 | 09:58

In this week's "Is He Really This Stupid or Just a Bald-Faced Liar" segment, HBO's Bill Maher Friday night once again proved that he is either one of the dumbest people on television or is way too dishonest to have his own show.

On the most recent installment of Real Time, the host emphatically claimed, "We've lost 500,000 public sector jobs since Obama took office and added 3.7 million private sector jobs" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Maher: Romney 'Only Paid 11% In Taxes,' Clinton Tax Hike 'Turned Around' The Economy

By Noel Sheppard | January 28, 2012 | 19:20

The ignorance of HBO's Bill Maher was oozing from every nook and cranny of his being Friday night.

After telling his Real Time audience that the national debt has only gone up by $1.5 trillion under Obama, the host during the Overtime segment actually said, "Mitt Romney we found out made $27 million, only paid 11 percent in taxes” (video follows with transcribed highlights and commentary, first relevant section at 4:00):

Maher Mocks Gingrich's Wife as a Martian

By Noel Sheppard | January 28, 2012 | 15:32

Remember the good old days when the family members of politicians were considered off-limits?

That of course is never the case for Republicans as HBO's Bill Maher sadly demonstrated on Friday's Real Time when he depicted Newt Gingrich's wife Callista as a Martian (video follows with transcript and commentary):

By Noel Sheppard | January 28, 2012 | 14:42

Real Time Guest KOs Maher and Bashir: If Brewer Were Dem Pointing Finger at GOP Prez, You'd Praise Her

By Noel Sheppard | January 28, 2012 | 13:56

Reason TV's Kennedy on Friday had a delicious smackdown of HBO's Bill Maher and MSNBC's Martin Bashir.

When Maher and Bashir voiced predictable scorn for Governor Jan Brewer pointing a finger at Barack Obama earlier in the week, Real Time panelist Kennedy correctly observed, "If this were a Democratic governor and a Republican president doing the same thing, the entire panel on your show would be like, 'You go girl.' It is so hypocritical" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Maher Mocks Conservatives as Racists and Defends Liberal Hatred of Bush

By Brad Wilmouth | January 28, 2012 | 07:34

On Friday's Real Time with Bill Maher on HBO, host Maher repeatedly made jokes about conservatives being racists, and at one point even acknowledged that the main criticism that conservatives make about him is his tendency to make cracks about them being racists.

Maher also defended liberal hatred of President Bush, claiming that the left hated Bush for what he actually did, in contrast with conservatives, whom he claimed mostly make up complaints about President Obama.

As he spoke during the panel segment, the left-wing comedian brought up complaints about his labeling of conservatives as racists:

Bill Maher on Romney as Nominee: 'Obama Is Going to Beat Him Like a Runaway Sister Wife'

By Noel Sheppard | January 26, 2012 | 10:21

As if having an hour a week to bash Republicans on national television isn't enough, vulgarian comedian Bill Maher is regularly asked to appear on cable news networks to offer his perilously biased opinions.

Such was the case Wednesday when he told CNN's Anderson Cooper if Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney wins the nomination, "Obama is going to beat him like a runaway sister wife" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Maher Brings Aboard Moyers Who’s Glad He Has ‘Confederate Money’ in Case Gingrich Wins

By Brent Baker | January 21, 2012 | 12:32

Bill Moyers returned this month to PBS stations to once again peddle his far-left hatred of conservatives. On Friday night he took to HBO to discredit the Republican presidential field with the first refuge of liberals unable to sustain an argument: racial smears.

To Bill Maher’s delight, Moyers charged “the delusional fringe has come in from the margin and runs” the Republican Party before he alleged Newt Gingrich is “playing the race card” and so, he maintained, in some sort of attempt at humor: “I would have been very glad that I saved my Confederate money because if he is elected in November, I’ve got enough to get access to the White House, you know – of Confederate money.” Very funny.

Bill Maher: Tea Partiers Support Newt Gingrich Because He’s Racist Like Them

By Noel Sheppard | January 21, 2012 | 11:43

HBO’s Bill Maher said Friday that members of the Tea Party support Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich because he’s racist like them.

Fortunately for the small portion of Real Time viewers with a brain, the Daily Caller’s Matt Lewis was there to set the ignorant host straight (video follows with transcribed highlights and commentary):

Bill Maher and Rob Reiner Don't Get the Fuss Over Marines Urinating on Dead Taliban - 'It's Expected'

By Noel Sheppard | January 14, 2012 | 10:52

It really is amazing how far liberal media members are willing to go to deflect any criticism from Barack Obama.

On HBO's Real Time Friday, host Bill Maher and guest Rob Reiner said this week's revelation of United States Marines urinating on dead Taliban wasn't really that big of a deal; Reiner even said, "It's expected" (video follows with transcribed highlights and commentary):

By Brad Wilmouth | January 13, 2012 | 08:51

Appearing as a guest on Thursday's Chelsea Lately show on the E! network, HBO comedian Bill Maher declared that he recently told former GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain, who will be appearing as a guest on tonight's Real Time show on HBO, that "I don't, like, hate your f------ guts,"  soon adding, "like I hate Newt Gingrich," inspiring agreement on hating the former House Speaker from host Chelsea Handler.

Maher Denies Making Rape Joke About CBS's Lara Logan & 'Religious Nut' Hasselbeck

By Brad Wilmouth | January 13, 2012 | 08:29

Appearing as a guest on Thursday's Chelsea Lately show on the E! network to promote his book, The New New Rules, HBO's Bill Maher denied that a sexual joke he made last February about ABC's Elisabeth Hasselbeck and CBS's Lara Logan was a reference to the rape of Logan in Egypt from that month, as he recounted that he actually made the joke on his Real Time show before Logan's sexual assault occurred.

ABC Staff Laugh at Bill Maher's Anti-Religious Mockery of Tim Tebow

By Brad Wilmouth | December 31, 2011 | 22:03

On Wednesday's Good Morning America, ABC staff could be heard laughing in the background when substitute news reader Dan Harris recited the less vulgar part of HBO comedian Bill Maher's infamous tweet mocking Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow's religious beliefs. (Video below)

After informing viewers that there were calls for a boycott against Maher's HBO show over the "controversial tweet," Harris continued:

Flashback: Hitchens Gives Finger to Maher’s Studio Audience for ‘Frivolous’ Jeering

By Brent Baker | December 17, 2011 | 00:38

The passing Thursday of Christopher Hitchens, at age 62 from cancer, reminded me of one of his finest moments, which occurred on a Friday night five-and-a-half years ago when he gave the finger to the pretentious, left-wing Los Angeles studio audience of HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher.

As he laid out the case for how it’s Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad who wants World War Three, not George W. Bush, Hitchens cited how Ahmadinejad “says the Messiah is about to come back.” Maher quipped: “So does George Bush, by the way.” That caused a loud eruption of audience applause and cheering, which led Maher to clarify: “That's not facetious.”

A Warm Memory: Chris Hitchens Flips Off Maher's Audience: 'None of You Is Smarter Than' George W. Bush

By John Nolte | December 16, 2011 | 12:04

The death of Christopher Hitchens hits like the 2008 death of Tim Russert. Both were men you really wanted to hear from during a looming presidential election.

The word being tossed about in reference to the passing of Hitchens is “contrarian,” and that strikes me as a little unfair. Hitchens could be infuriating and even wrong, but there was nothing dishonest or insincere about the man. Though it’s not the perfect definition of contrarian, I don’t believe for a second that Hitchens ever once took a stand simply to be provocative or contrary.

Bill Maher Back on Huffington Post Front Page Despite 'Ad Hominem Attack' Rule Used to Ban Breitbart

By Noel Sheppard | December 14, 2011 | 17:47

Bill Maher had an article published at the Huffington Post's front page Wednesday.

This appears to be an indication the website is going back on the ad hominem attack rule it used to ban conservative publisher Andrew Breitbart from its front page in March:

FNC Hosts Slam Maher for Rape Joke Targeting Hasselbeck, 'Urge' Book Boycott

By Brad Wilmouth | November 16, 2011 | 08:23

Wednesday's Fox and Friends on FNC gave attention to the recent confrontation between HBO host and comedian Bill Maher and Elisabeth Hasselbeck, the right-leaning co-host of ABC's The View, as Maher appeared as a guest on the ABC show.

Hasselbeck brought up a tasteless rape joke Maher told earlier in the year on his Real Time show after the sexual assault of CBS correspondent Lara Logan as she reported from Egypt in which he suggested sending Hasselbeck to Egypt.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck Mocks Bill Maher: 'You're So Brilliant - I Actually Feel Smarter Sitting Next To You'

By Noel Sheppard | November 15, 2011 | 20:01

As you've probably heard by now, Bill Maher got quite an unfriendly welcome from Elisabeth Hasselbeck on Tuesday's The View.

The best part that largely went overlooked was when the host of HBO's Real Time predictably disparaged the intelligence of Republicans only to be quickly mocked by the female foe to his left who countered, "You’re so brilliant. Wow, I actually feel smarter sitting next to you" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

MSNBC's Alex Wagner: 'Get Rid of the Second Amendment'

By Ken Shepherd | November 14, 2011 | 16:24

In January 2011 after the Gabrielle Giffords shooting, MSNBC's Richard Lui wondered, "Is it time to rethink the Second Amendment?"

His new colleague Alex Wagner doesn't even think there's a question about it.

"I'm going to be pilloried for this," the Now with Alex Wagner host told Bill Maher on the November 4 edition of HBO's Real Time, explaining that she thinks the Constitution should be amended to take out the individual's right to keep and bear arms (h/t Real Clear Politics; video at link):

After Mentioning Cain, Bill Maher Says Romney Only Thing Stopping 'The Rise of the Apes'

By Tim Graham | November 14, 2011 | 08:55

[UPDATED: See video and transcript below.] Appearing on ABC's Good Morning America, Monday, to shill for his latest book, Bill Maher told George Stephanopoulos he's rooting for Mitt Romney to win the Republican nomination. "At least he eats with a knife and fork. I mean, he is all that stands between us and the rise of the apes."

Couldn't that be seen as a bit racist toward Herman Cain? We're used to Maher slamming religious folks in that way, but "apes"? Stephanopoulos didn't blink. He only said "He's [Romney's] probably odds-on, although Newt Gingrich..." [MP3 audio here.]

Bill Maher: Newt Gingrich 'Is a Fat Womanizing Blowhard'

By Noel Sheppard | November 12, 2011 | 12:59

As NewsBusters previously reported, Bill Maher spent the bulk of his final program Friday disgracefully attacking Republicans.

After saying on HBO's Real Time, "Jon Huntsman can suck my c--k," the host played a satirical movie trailer about Newt Gingrich which concluded with the announcer calling the former Speaker of the House "a fat womanizing blowhard" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

By Noel Sheppard | November 12, 2011 | 11:37

Bill Maher spent the bulk of his final program of the season Friday disgracefully attacking any Republican he could think of.

Early in the panel segment of HBO's Real Time, the host went into a tirade about the former governor of Utah saying, "Jon Huntsman can suck my c--k" (video follows with transcript and commentary, strong vulgarity warning):

More Maher Stupidity: Wall Street Betting on Things to Fail Is 'Something New'

By Noel Sheppard | November 05, 2011 | 12:18

If it's Saturday, I must be pointing out more simply stunning stupidity coming from the mouth of Bill Maher.

Never letting me down, the host of HBO's Real Time Friday said the financial crisis was caused by "something new in politics where Wall Street was sort of betting on things to fail as opposed to for things to succeed" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Maher Booed for Telling Gay Joke About Marcus Bachmann and Gaddafi Getting Sodomized

By Noel Sheppard | October 29, 2011 | 09:05

Although there are no limits to what Bill Maher will say about conservatives, it appears some of his audience members have a shred of decency that he doesn't.

When the host of HBO's Real Time made a gay joke involving Michele Bachmann's husband Marcus and Moammar Gaddafi being sodomized with a stick after his capture, some audience members actually booed (video follows with transcript and commentary):
