The New York Times ran a small blog burst on Hillary Clinton after she made a "surprise visit" to Hunter College yesterday morning. The bloggy kiss up features a soggy picture of a somber looking Mrs. Clinton who appears to be transfixed in deep thought behind a lonely podium.
As if the staged picture isn’t stomach churning enough, the staff blogger breathlessly penned the following in describing the rock star's visit.
Several of the students clutched copies of the 10th anniversary edition, released last week, of Mrs. Clinton’s book “It Takes a Village.” Mrs. Clinton patiently obliged, signing the books – as well as a baseball, a statistics textbook and even scraps of looseleaf paper. She did not make any public comments about her political aspirations.
Story Continues Below Ad ↓“I got her signature!” exclaimed Leandro Gallo, 20-year-old freshman from Brazil who lives on the East Side, showing off a half-page of lined looseleaf with Mrs. Clinton’s John Hancock.Mr. Gallo said that news of the senator’s visit had taken the students by surprise. “I didn’t know she was going to be here.”
Hunter College’s student body is three-quarters female and overwhelmingly black, Latino or Asian; one-quarter of students are the first in their families to attend college. Many are working and studying at the same time. The demographic profile may speak to the strength of the enthusiasm shown for Mrs. Clinton.
Yeah right. Those students just happened to be walking around campus for a week while happily “clutching” their copies of “It Takes a Village”; because after all - that’s what normal college kids do! They had no idea that the patient yet elusive Senator Clinton was going to appear on campus. But luckily, as fate would have it, they were clutching that ten year old page turner at just the right time!
Please spare me.
Hunter College is either the most boring college campus in the world or the Times blogger has been drinking way too much of the Clinton Kool-Aid. I vote for the latter.
The story in itself is unremarkable except that it illustrates the mindset of New York Times staffers in a relaxed forum designed to "supplement" the paper's news coverage.
The next two years are going to be hard to stomach. I am not sure which democrat hopeful is going to get more fluff from the press, Obama the saint who walks on water, or Hillary, the one who is parting it in his wake. Either way my gag reflex will be working overtime.

As I posted here last week, regarding my son's school's "holiday" program presentation, where they totally eliminated Christmas and replaced it with Hanukkah and Kwanzaa. After I e-mailed the principal, school board, PTA and the teachers about my complain, they called me right away and was very sorry. They'll call a meeting and promised me that it will never happened- Christmas will be reinstated! Hallelujah!
Releasing again Hillary's book, indicate her intentions for a White House run. So America, mobilze. We can't afford a Socialist White House.

In Hillary's ideal village, though, you'd have had to convince the social workers, therapists, and Children's Oversight Committee, as well as just the principal, school board, PTA, and teachers that your right as a parent to make decisions for your own child trumped their notion of political correctness.

Tomorrow will be our 7th grade twin girl's "holiday program", and we'll see what they have on their agenda. I suspect a different atmosphere though as I listened to my girls play their violins at home. Who knows, they might have a female-wearing burqua killing an infant Jesus on the show. I'm pretty sure, ACLU, NEA-NTU will approve of the scene as "freedom of speech"....It could go sour. So, if that's the case, the mayor, our congresswoman, the governor, the local TV and the rest of them will be on the subject line. And the fight goes on and will keep you posted...

It was written before candidates had so many tv moments and tv producer types available to craft any image a candidate thought to need that day. It was written when "behind evey great man is a great women" was used to truely honor spouses. It was written after a world war when thinking a President from such time needed to be limited from excess and maybe corrupting number of years in office. It was written after a war when so many other politicians had had their fill of not having a large enough say possibly with such a long serving President. It may also have been written to protect the Supreme Court appointments. To lightly interpret this amendment could give Bill the most ideal presidency yet:
Hillary could do the paperwork and signings while he still gets to project the power of the office by marriage and past president status. > Bill could spend more time golfing than ever and with just as important friends of the President. > Bill could live back in his old digs with the stature again and also of past President and use the Lincoln Bedroom etc.... > Bill could attend and be expected to attend all the most coveted State Dinners and world summits and thus get even more spots in the "history" books and their photos -- would it just be now he would be on the left/right instead of right/left? > Bill would through his marriage and likely joint accounts actually be again receiving the salary of "the office of the President."
First, I ask is this even humanly possible without the aid of medication and precriptions > the new supposedly smart thinking of Hillary that now that her husband is term limited by the uniqueness of the Presidency that she is not also so limited and should have kept some of his years for herself? > Remember as well please that no law says the likes of Hillary or other past or hopeful spouses cannot be the power behind the candidate as through marriage many heart strings provide irresistable power opportunities.
