It was such a cheap play to the left-wing peanut gallery that it doesn't even pay to be disgusted. Discussing the "Time" magazine person of the year choice on "The View" this morning, yenta-in-residence Joy Behar blurted out:
"You have to put like a Hitler type. Like you put Donald Rumsfeld there or something."
When some in the audience began to jeer, Behar broke into a huge, mock-surprised smile, as if to say "what's wrong with that?" It was just one more transparent stunt, a plea for attention and ratings. You might say that by posting this I've helped Behar achieve her ends. But what's a NewsBuster supposed to do?
UPDATE: AllahPundit at Hot Air has the video.

December 18, 2006 - 12:43 ET by misterbillI have never watched the show. I have never heard of this woman except on NB. Where in the name of heaven do they find these people? Where is a bully pulpit for everday Americans to tell the MSM we are sick to death of Bush (and associates) bashing?
BTW Many of the MSM group do not have open emails to contact. I have no problem with sharing my opinion with them about their antics.

December 18, 2006 - 12:54 ET by iveseenitallI've never watched The View either. But each time I see what they've said or done I'm reminded of so many Long Island housewives I 've known. Their brains, if they had any, were never in gear as they flapped their jaws and gave that ignorant smirk. Now they've made it to national t.v. You might laugh if it weren't so sad for womanhood.

December 18, 2006 - 13:10 ET by misterbillive-- your comment about womanhood is right on the money. After I read it, I thought that I did not dare to say it lest the PC police brand me as a misogynist. Shame on me! The women who I have met electronically on this site would have understood that breed of woman and that they are not included in the womanhood that you mentioned and that I scorn. I was fortunate in that, in spite of my age, I got towork in an environment with many women. Most of them were highly skilled, intelligent women(I include my wife, of course). That I found has no bearing on their or any man's thoughts dealing with freedom or political issues. Most of those are emotional thoughts. I despair that that large group of women who sit and listen to the tripe on the MSM daily will cast their votes for those who plan a more secular America and then they will whine about the ways things have gone.

I will bet our common sense to their rip-and-read mentality (using somone else's agenda as news reporting), that if they were to REPORT the news, good, bad, for, against - they would then have the courage to have a conversation with the "common folk".
As always, my challenge has gone unanswered, they CANNOT prove there is NO media bias, and for good reason - 1) no courage, 2) truth.

December 18, 2006 - 13:49 ET by GalvanicThe show is just as many have described: 4 chattering women throwing out half-baked opinions (usually for laughs), often sharing their chat with a guest. Behar has proven herself particularly shallow intellectually, getting facts wrong and regurgitating old talking points.
It's the kind of TV that we've been warned about since the '50s.

December 18, 2006 - 15:03 ET by awffp1890It is time for all Newsbusters junkies, and smart people alike, to take a trip to the show and use one of my favorite Liberal tactics. We can boo, hiss, and disrupt the show beyond anything these morons believe possible. I cannot believe ABC allows this to continue. Amazing!
Remember this is ultimately what Barbara Walters wants...
December 18, 2006 - 19:37 ET by Guy Arthur ThomasRemember this, ultimately this is what Barbara Walters wants, promotes and condones. This is her show and she chooses who co-hosts and who doesn't. She has the ability to fire anyone of them, discipline them or address inappropriate comments by them...she doesn't do any of this.
There is no such thing as a Barbara Walters legacy. She has been this way all her life but at her almost age 80 she has no career left to worry about losing and so the truth of her character is showing...which is she has little to no character or principles at all. She is just a bitter, unattractive and aging woman who never got beyond her Jr. High School pettiness and social grudges. But do remember, in the end this is as much, IF NOT MORE, on the shoulders of Barbara Walters as it is Behar's.
If you claim to be a conservative, please don't disgrace yourself and conservatism by thinking and arguing like a liberal.

December 19, 2006 - 00:58 ET by tracheostomyNOTE:
My wife and I both observed that Rosie has two voices.
1. Her cool; conversational "standup comedy" voice. Something I always enjoyed.
2. Her preachy, infantile voice. Ever notice that when she's got something really important to say, and also when she imitates children (odd, but it's true), she pronounces each syllable (in her Long Island accent) as if she were four years old.
"RAD-i-cal Iss-LOM"
"Con-DOH-lee-ZAH RYEss"
"MAH-mee CAN-I-haffa-CUH-kee?"
You get the idea.

December 19, 2006 - 10:00 ET by Dave RThis Behar woman is the poster child for "ignoramus."
As is the case with most liberals, she is utterly clueless as to what the NAZIs were really all about. For her to campare RumsfeId to Hitler proves she is totally ignorant of recent history.
I doubt she could find Germany on a labeled map.
