Well, it certainly didn’t take long for a member of the media to suggest that there’s some kind of conspiracy involved with Sen. Tim Johnson’s (D-SD) medical condition. On Thursday’s “The View,” co-host Joy Behar questioned, “Is there such a thing as a man made stroke? In other words, did someone do this to him?”
Don't believe it? Well, those that can tolerate it can watch this disgraceful example of indecency here. Hat tip to Hot Air. A transcript is here.
Sadly, this wasn't the only disgrace, for when conservative co-host Elizabeth Hasselbeck asked why liberals are always seeing a conspiracy in everything, Behar unashamedly responded: “I know what this, that Party is capable of.”
This demonstrated the unbelievable lack of regard for a fellow human being shown by members of the media as already addressed by NewsBusters here, as well as a despicable and conscienceless opinion of the GOP.
Is there any wonder why Americans have such a low opinion of their political leaders when folks like this speak so ill of them?

December 14, 2006 - 16:01 ET by Nathan R MII've always thought that the way to see the true side of people is during a time of distress. Obviously, the people of the democratic party care nothing about others unless it concerns them. So far I've seen more sympathy from conservatives and Republicans than I have from the left.
To call such a serious incedent a conspiracy is pathetic. Maybe they should lay off the drugs a little bit.

December 14, 2006 - 17:56 ET by mattmAs I've said many times, Democrats always accuse others of what they practice themselves. They just ran a campaign against GOP "corruption" but somehow avoided being tainted by Harry Reid's land swindle, or the Jefferson Cold Cash scandal or the Kennedy DUI fiasco, or... Obviously, they think Republicans would do such a dastardly deed because it's exactly what they would do, or at least what they would think of to do!

December 15, 2006 - 09:04 ET by dscottIt does beg the question doesn't it concerning Projection? Have there been any Republicans who died or were incapacitated or accused of a non event thus allowing a Dem to take office?
We saw the dirty tricks with Foley (non pedofile discussion) and Allen (non racial remark 30 years ago). Thus it seems the Dems are certainly capable of stooping to such behavior.

December 14, 2006 - 16:53 ET by bassndudeThis woman is a wealth of ignorance, stupidity and callousness. But lets look at it their way. The MSM has invested so much time, money, effort and lies involved in the political make up of the senate and the house. They struggled day and night, clawed tooth and nail. And now, it seems like it is slipping away. And they have to belive it was someone, somewhere planned this out. They are in panic here. Their concern is not for the man or his family. Their concern is only on themselves...as always. So liberal of them.

December 14, 2006 - 17:06 ET by paperheadSomeone needs to clue Elizabeth in on why liberals think everything bad that happens to them is a conspiracy. In their minds liberals are arrogant and think because of their superior intelligence, they are entitled to winning. When that doesn't happen, it has to be because of the evil Dr. Rove and Republicans plotting against them with the help of Diebold and others. I knew it wouldn't take long for them to get to this conspiracy conclusion but I thought it would at least take a week or so.

Behar: "Yeah, we’re very sad that he’s critically ill, but there are millions and millions of people who depend upon this Congress. People in the world and people in this country. So it’s really–his, his illness is, is sad, but it's not as important in the overall scheme."

I had a feeling some idiots in the press would think Mr. Johnson's serious illness is some kind of Republican plot; alas, I was right... CNN went bananas over the thought of the Dems losing the Senate and Ms. Behar went paranoid. Folks, this is pathological. A man's very life is hanging by a thread and all these clowns can do is fret about the GOP getting the Senate back.

December 15, 2006 - 00:01 ET by lehmanHarry Reid had to rush to the hospital to see how Johnson was doing. Was it concern for Johnson's well-being or concern for his senate majority? If he's like Joy Behar, he's more concerned about the majority. Trent Lott said today that he would like to be in the majority, but not like that. Not having someone sick or dead. The conservatives have compassion for people. How can the liberals live with themselves? Joy accuses the GOP of conspiracy when there is none. She is the one capable of conspiracy, if given the chance. She would do anything to bring the President down.

December 15, 2006 - 11:57 ET by Al CzervikI'm constantly amazed at the lack of a moral compass on the left. With no evidence what so ever, they are already claiming that Republicans are trying to kill this guy to take over power.
In contrast, they insist that Syria is a good faith partner in peace even though they have been knocking off members of the Lebanese government to advance their agenda and propel Hamas into a majority position.
