I told you that watching the Dems' internecine battles was going to be fun. The slap the NY Times took at the Dem leadership today for backing away from its pledge to reform Congress as part of implementing the 9-11 panel recommendations was just an hors d'ouevre. In a column in today's Los Angeles Times, Arianna Huffington serves up a heaping main course, feasting on Hillary's foibles.
All you really need to know about how Huff feels about Hil is to have a look at the photo here from the LA Times that accompanies Arianna's column. But let's plunge on with these excerpts from Hillary's too vane to be president:
- "While the country is urgently engaged in finding a way out of the quagmire in Iraq, Hillary Rodham Clinton is busy holding private dinners for key Democrats from primary states."
- "A politician more comfortable following than leading."
Story Continues Below Ad ↓ - "There are politicians with great instincts as leaders. Clinton is . . . is the quintessential political weather vane."
- "Clinton's strategy for the presidency is threatening to become a cautionary tale about a perfect little girl who had a perfect little plan that went perfectly astray."
- "David Geffen has already declared for Obama, and many other Hollywood power brokers, who are not ready to go public yet, are making it known in private that they are in the ABH (Anyone But Hillary) camp. And all because they don't trust her to stand up for what is right — or even to know anymore what is right."
Ouch! Putting aside the temptation to describe Huffington's broadside in terms of feline fisticuffs, I'd say that Arianna has a point. Then again, perhaps it's better to stay out of the fray. You know what Napoleon said about not interrupting the other side . . .

December 7, 2006 - 10:49 ET by ucTo what extent if Hillary supposes right to run for President must her campaign organization and money backers/power brokers be different from her husbands so that trust busting and monopoly laws do not become an issue? When could it be seen that they have locked up the power and money and media because the term limit law/amendment wasn't applied? >> The Bill Clinton monopoly might need legal busting but how to get the evidence that Bill isn't cajoling/pressuring/manipulating in his private time to get back to the White House? Really sad to me that such a debate is even having enough chance of happening.

December 7, 2006 - 12:18 ET by John in CAIt would be detrimental to Broom Hillary if that news were to be published someplace other than NewsMax. What do you think the chances are that will be in the NY Times?
Now, if that was George Bush, or Mitt Romney, or some other Republican it would be top of the hour and above the fold news.

We're not biased; we covered it..."

December 7, 2006 - 11:01 ET by iveseenitallAll things being equal, catfights should become just one of a hundred problems for Hillary. I don't know where it will come from, but the truth about who she truly is has to be told. She's a socialist who has garnered a personal fortune being a capitalist, a heartless phony who will use your money (taxes) to foster her own personal ambition and push a European political philosophy on America. Beware of this #$%$#.

December 7, 2006 - 11:27 ET by Bill W.I've followed this woman since the '92 campaign. Loved it when 60 Minutes/Steve Croft was filming an interview with the Clintons. Hillary was going on and on about how "if people would just seriously investigate these allegations of infidelity (Jennifer Flowers) they'd see that they is a vast Right-wing conspiracy...", sitting on the sofa, and all of a sudden, a large lighting fixture fell forward and nearly hit her on the head. I've got the video! She jumped up and repeated several times, "Jesus! Mary! And, Joseph!" Well, you got that right, lady.
Now, she's seeing it all come home to roost. Good luck to all the Lefties. It's their turn to "eat their own." If we had to lose the Congress, maybe the Holy Trinity will keep us occupied for the next 20 months watching this unfold. It is going to be so much fun to watch, well...

December 7, 2006 - 11:52 ET by Sugar LandAs much as I enjoy reading negative comments about Hillary... this is freaking Arianna Huffington here. Talk about a "weather vane." She wasn't smart enough to make it as a conservative pundit, so she totally switched sides, and now passes for an "intellectual" on the left. They're going to eat their own... great. But I'm not getting worked up by something Puffington pontificates.

December 7, 2006 - 12:06 ET by iveseenitallWe've seen men acting like women in politics and in the press for years now. The lastest "Commission" is a good example. I guess its time for them to take a back seat the those who are at least anatomically correct.

I would like to go on the ear
December 7, 2006 - 12:14 ET by BruzillaI would like to go on the early record and predict that Hillary is going to make all kinds of moves towards running for president, get a lot of attention, and then say that she feels being a NY Senator is more important (or some other stupid thing) and not run. I'm predicting this because Hillary knows all the crap that her husband pulled, and she knows what a loser he is, and she knows that if she gets elected there's going to be no more living apart from the guy. Also, she'll never be seen as a legitimate president because Bill always makes everything about himself, and the media and political allies go right along with him, so everything she does will be viewed through the "was this Bill's idea?", "what does Bill have to say about this?", or "did Bill approve this?" prism, and that would just eat her up.
My prediction is she garners all kinds of support and influence, and then strongarms her way into the Senate Majority Leader position, where she can have power but without the extra baggage of Bill.
You say that now, but I'm thi
December 8, 2006 - 10:57 ET by dscottYou say that now, but I'm thinking Noel has this pegged. As much as the ultra libs hate Hillary for her focus group stances, Barrack Obama's lack of experience can never be overcome by his charming personality. The Dems love Obama for his clean slate, but any novice looks go on ethics until enough time has passed. Obama does have a womanizing issue. At this point, the Dem primary season looks like Obama is going to cancel out or drain the support of all would be candidates except for Hillary, thus leaving only Obama and Hillary as the prime contenders. My prediction is the Dems will and especially the ultra libs will accept Hillary for the Presidential candidacy and Obama as the VP for the consession. I'm thinking Hillary is supporting Obama behind the scenes in order to knock off all the contenders, it's the standard Clinton SOP, triangulation and manipulation.

December 7, 2006 - 16:48 ET by buddychuffington married a rich guy who as a republican and he ran for office in california and she supported, endorsed him and spoke on his behalf. he spent millions and lost.
she divorced him because he was a homo.
now she has a liberal blog and is harsh on hillary.
WHO CARES what she says. she is nuts, has zero credibility and in a normal society would be ostracized as a fraud.
the truth is that she is critical to make hillary look centrists to us dupes. she is being paid to make hillary look centrist. would it surprise you? she took money to defraud the people in calif. she took money to sleep with a homo and pretent he and she were normal.
