Fox and Friends Discusses Media Outlet's Failure to Identify Illegal Immigrants

Failing to report on the legal status has become a common practice of the mainstream media as was demonstrated by a recent report done by WPTV in West Palm Beach, Florida. On Tuesday’s Fox and Friends First, hosts Brian Kilmeade, Gretchen Carlson, and Tiki Barber covered the story. The transcript is below.

Brian Kilmeade: "Let's talk about what's happening with, with illegals and soliciting funds for illegals. For example, what's happening in West Palm Beach in Florida."

Gretchen Carlson: "Well, you know, this is a really unusual story, because the TV station there, one of the affiliates in West Palm Beach, apparently did a story about how these immigrants needed help and that they had been giving back to the community, so now it was time for the rest of the community to step up an help them out. The only problem is is that usually television reports are supposed to be objective and they forgot to mention one major part of the story, which was the fact that these immigrants were illegal."

Tiki Barber: "There was 13 illegal immigrants. Jamie Holmes from WPTV in down West Palm Beach, she was soliciting, basically, funds for these illegal immigrants to help survive the American dream for the Bravo and Morales families down there in Florida. And I, and I guess the question comes up is should their immigration status be relevant? I think, in a lot of people's minds, it definitely should be."

Kilmeade: "Yeah the fact that they're illegal, that fact that their home burned down everyone feels bad. The fact that, according to this report, these are hard working people. People feel bad. But then people say, 'wait a second, what are you doing here? Why are you here? What jobs are you taking that maybe other people can take?' And it turns out, this reporter in the original report doesn't even mention the fact that they're illegals, but in the written report in the web site they bring up they are illegal immigrants. So there, there is an advocating, advocate journalism aspect to this in West Palm Beach, and it brings up the whole issue of illegal immigration. And many people are having trouble fighting back the tears about this because fundamentally they shouldn't be here to begin with."

Carlson: "Yeah, well, and the other part, I mean, I think it's one thing that they did not mention that they were illegal immigrants. But on top of that soliciting funds that's a little touchy when you're talking about objective reporting. The videotaped, report apparently this reporter admonished viewers to, quote, 'put away your political believes of where they should or should not be,' and, quote, 'before making an appeal for donations.' So in a way I guess, in the first report she was saying, 'hey they might be illegal but put away your political beliefs because this family needs help.' I think that the best way to have covered this story would have been to say, 'hey, they're illegal, their house burned down, they need help.' And then leave it up to the viewers whether or not they would like to give money."

Barber: "Yeah, certainly seems like there was an agenda in that one."

Agenda indeed! Kudos to Fox

Agenda indeed! Kudos to Fox and Friends. You know, I see how adamantly everywhere in the MSM they are pro-illegals, but why? What is the incentive for liberals? Votes?

Never use your gun to pistol-wip a Liberal. That could mar the finish.

"Illegal"...Thanks

"Illegal"...

Thank you FNC...that is all that one has to know, that one word....illegal. Period.

BT

Danger, Will Robinson!

Um, sorry....Danger, BT.

Tumbler will come out of the woodwork and derail the thread.....

Seriously, though, I do have Fox & Friends on in the a.m. as I'm heading out for the day....they are often times sillier than teenagers....but as often right on the money!  And Gretchen Carlson is a great addition.  And they nailed it this morning.

Used to watch CSPAN....but the left leaning of late has left me OVER THEM! (couldn't figure out how to end that with more L words....LOL).

deep breath, blondie

Yes; I could bust out of your wooden dentures. I could derail your ego. I could.

Failure to identify illegal immigrants? Who failed? If it failed, why's this blog talking about it? I usually say up front, if an illegal is captured, deport him/her. Don't hate; just uphold our law.

If they ought to be imprisoned, do that. I say it would teach those who intend to "invade"--as c.v. says--Not to. Have I encroached on your turf, Blonde? Take a deep breath and bust some buttons, Chile.

Hey tumbler...Why not stop th

Hey tumbler...

Why not stop them from coming in first. It would be cheaper and more efficient, would it not?

why not stop them?

Believe me; I would. I can't.

I know you would but you can't. They know we can't. Unless we murder some of them with land mines, machine guns, airplanes overhead. You refuse to understand: a fence is no use. Let's not beat the dead horse anymore; you know exactly where I stand. The difference between myself and youz guys is; I feel compassion and you won't. Your agenda won't allow it. (That's right; a conservative agenda. Which I must deplore, since this is a free country.)

No compassion? Me?

Me?  No compassion?  Just because I say Mexico CAN and SHOULD be a First World nation?  Just because I think it is a BAD thing when other nations hemmorhage their populations while their politicians either shrug their shoulders and say "ho-hum" or actually encourage the practice?

dear unsane

Just because nothing changes in your foggy mind. It's the same drumbeat, nothing original, nothing of substance. You haven't expressed compassion for the PEOPLE we're always talking about. The ones picking our crops. To you they'll always be nothing but intruders and unloveable.

Because you are stuck in your Xenophobia. Like Blonde, who insists this is HER country. Not the country of despicable germs. You know, that lingering plague she can't stand. "Despicable, and THEY BREED!" Haha!

Well, tumbler.You finally got

Well, tumbler.

You finally got something about me right.

I am against illegal immigrants.  Totally, truthfully, and one hundred percent against illegal immigration and invasion of my community.  I welcome any and all immigrants (and where I live...there are many, many) who come from the Carribean, South America...hells bells, even Nepal!  I welcome these new LEGAL residents with welcome arms....because they come here with respect for MY community's laws....they wish to be a part of MY society.....and not rip off the opportunities of others for their own selfish gain by being here ILLEGALLY.

I am not a xenophobe.  I enjoy people of many different countries and cultures.  As long as they are here LEGALLY.

And not dropping little anchor babies all over the place.

If you are so in love with the illegal pregnant Mexicans...why don't you become a Mormon and marry them all? So that you can support them all, tumbler.  Since your heart is so big and pure and all?  Open your home, tumbler.  Just keep the hell away from my front door, thank you very much.

You, personally.  Instead of me and my tax dollars?

Blonde...You and me both, goo

Blonde...

You and me both, good post!

Tumbler ain't foolin nobody. He thinks by advocating for jailing illegals that he is absolved from any criticism, all the while he knows darn well that jailing all illegals is an impossibility. You and I both know that stopping the problem before it gets here is the answer, and deporting them as they get caught is the next best thing. Eventually, even the illegals will get the message... come here legally and we will welcome you to America with open arms, come here illegally and all bets are off.

He did get something else right in his post... this is your country, NOT THEIRS!

Thanks, Clear.I have had a gr

Thanks, Clear.

I have had a great day, and a great week, actually, and have had enough of tumbler's garbage to last a lifetime.

Living in South Florida, I am the beneficiary of the most wonderful multi-cultural craziness one can imagine.....fabulous food....fabulous traditions....and I get to learn new words on a daily basis!  It's alot of fun, and I welcome it.

But I do not welcome, tolerate, nor condone being invaded by the illegal residents of a failed country's political ploy.  So, stay home, illegals.  And if you persist...expect to be treated roughly, and thrown out on your a**!

Yeah, I am stuck in xenophobi

Yeah, I am stuck in xenophobia, yet I am willing to bet I have seen and interacted with many more cultures than you have, and I am considerably younger than you are.  What a joke.

Oh, and it seems that you are very happy that they are picking our crops, so long as they STAY doing that.  I see potential future doctors, lawyers, scientists, engineers, and so on.  Too bad you see so little potential in people from Mexico.

It's way to easy to call you

It's way to easy to call you out.

Have fun at the fence building ceremony!

What, precisely, other than being "stuck on stupid" is your problem, Tumbler?

Your ad hominems are truly silly....you just keep going over and over the top....

ILLEGAL is ILLEGAL is ILLEGAL, tumbler.

That means they are here, breaking the law.  I'm sorry their house got burned down, but if they were in their own country, instead of MY COUNTRY illegally, they wouldn't be on the news as an object of "stay where you belong, you illegal immigrants".

Too bad, so sad.

Care to call me a Nazi again, tumbler?

P.S.  You couldn't derail a run in my stockings.

Hi B...Can't not post what I

Hi B...

Can't not post what I want to because I worry about tumbie...believe me I thought about it, but that's all I did!

As far as C-Span goes anymore...like I said before, they have slanted to the left obviously so bad that I do not care one way or the other if I catch it or not anymore...(The Washington Journal that is)...the 'L' word I would include in that is loser...as in losing viewership...although they do not need ratings , therefore obviously do not care all that much....it has been sad for me over the last decade to watch the gradual decline in C-Span and their so called non-partisanship.

Hey BT,I refuse to let silly

Hey BT,

I refuse to let silly fools bother me any longer.  Particularly those who advocate for illegal immigration.

I get what you're saying about CSPAN, tho.  Before the 2000 election, I was the total CSPAN junkie.  My favorites used to be Friday's, with Brian....but even that got to be too much for this conservative to bear.

CSPAN did a special a couple of years ago, though, which was two days in the life on a nuc missle submarine.  It was probably the most awesome documentary I've ever seen.

Too bad they've gotten away from being neutral and just presenting facts.  So mornings are as they've always been....mad rush....listening to snippets of the least offensive news program.  Which, for now, is Fox & Friends.  Gretchen Carlson is heads & shoulders above the other blonde they had going there....funny how I feel free to criticize the blonde member, though.....LOL  :)

B...I agree with everything y

B...I agree with everything you have posted except for Gretchen....

So far I do not care for her...she may get better IMO....

Putting E.D. where they did is wrong if you ask me, (following Fox and Friends)...but then again, no one did...and I could be wrong...I emphasis could...LOL!

bigtimer - Neither E.D. nor G

bigtimer - Neither E.D. nor Gretchen are all that.  Fox and Friends needs the supreme journalism that can be found in the likes of Kiran Chetry and Megyn Kendall.

Un....I certainly second that

Un....

I certainly second that!  I like both, they are quick-witted and know their subjects well....

Meg has a lot brains! I really enjoy and learn from her, she is going to go places whatever happens in her life IMHO! I think she should have her own show when it comes to the law and the courts and their systems, after-all it is what we all have to obey and the Congress passes laws everyday they do not even understand, let alone read all of the contents of....she would be such an asset and make an hour go by fast plus cover one of the major subjects we have to live by every day from the time we awaken to the time we lay our heads on our pillows...it wouldn't be a boring show!

Here in AZ we have Sherriff J

Here in AZ we have Sherriff Joe patrolling for illegals and a prosecutor who charges them with conspiracy to be smuggled!  Hey, if they paid to be smuggled then they're part of the crime.

Note to tumbler - The illegals are not the ones here picking our crops.  All the farmers in Yuma, AZ are having a huge problem finding farm workers.  They say the shortage is so severe they may lose crops.

Looks to me like the old, worn out line that illegals do the work americans won't do just came to a screeching halt.
